    Night and Day when you move from the Camera audio to the Rode. I was about to curse for making a video that starts with Bad audio .... but what a surprise ending. Thanks for creating the sharp contrast that helps people like me appreciate good sound recording and playback.

    Great video...I've had my NT1 for about 12 months...it's great...flat response and uncolored...slightly different pop filter though...oblong shaped metal one

    I got my N1 about a month ago and really love it. It has that flat, fat sound that I was looking for.
    If I have a complaint, and it's only a small one, I find that the pop filter adds weight that makes it very top heavy either on a stand or even more so on a desktop stand - which is how I use it. I had to get a desktop stand with a very heavy base for it to be more stable. It helps a lot but extra care is still needed if you don't want it to tumble. I'm thinking that a pop filter that connects to the stand itself would have made things much better. I'm sure I'll find a way around this. But other than that it's a very good mic. I'm extremely happy with it.

    • @MocasWorld
      @MocasWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It definitely helps to align the mic/ shock mount/pop filter combo over one of the mic stand legs, for better balance and support. Glad you are enjoying your mic. TIP: Be sure to use the little protective bag to protect the mic when it is not being used. Just remember to remove it when recording... and I always do a quick "mic check"recording, to make sure everything is connected and good to go before proceeding. Enjoy!

    Hello, everyone! I just bought and finished setting up this microphone, and I thought I’d address the main issue with the pop filter I had in case anyone ran into a similar problem. If you’re having trouble being able to maintain the vertical adjustments to the pop filter/can’t screw it in enough to stop it spinning in place once everything else is installed, there’s a ring-shaped plastic washer that goes inside the piece you screw that holds the filter place. I didn’t see any of the reviews or tutorials I watched mention this tiny piece, but finding this out saved me from having to order a new filter!

    Thank you so much for this video , I'm getting started soon as a voice actor and this really helped me a lot ,I'd like to ask you how to avoid damaging the microphone ? I've seen a video in which he specified that you could damage the microphone when you plug it in and I want to avoid that

    • @MocasWorld
      @MocasWorld  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So glad you found it helpful! Not sure how you would damage the mic when you plug it it. Mine works perfectly, as I connected it in the video. I use it several times a week. As soon as I'm done with it, I put the little black dust bag on the mic to keep it dust free, and I unplug the usb that connects the interface to my computer. I keep the mic in the same safe place, so all I need to do is just plug in the usb and open Garageband to record. I always do a test recording before every project, to make sure it's working properly after connecting. I suggest you test a few settings... MOSTLY I use Garageband legacy 👉 podcasting 👉no effects then I export the MP3 .. (on occasion female narrator or female narrator noisy) Just test to see what settings work best for you on your app. Best of luck with the voice recording!

    Hi, could you tell me about the brass washer you are attaching between the shock mount and the boom arm please? What is it exactly? I suspect I need one because my shock mount doesn’t seem to sit on my current stand with the mic clip. Thanks!

    • @MocasWorld
      @MocasWorld  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi.. If I remember correctly, my mike stand came with 2 washers.. a plastic one and the brass one. The plastic one is the same size, but I just chose to use the brass one. You may want to watch my other video to show how I assembled the stand with the original clip and what came with it (then I removed the clip and attached the shock mount. You may just have to remove one of the washers and put another as I did. th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html
      Maybe a separate issue... but Røde NT Kit came a with little rubber "blue ring" and the instruction says "If your mic is loose when connected, insert the blue ring into the microphone plug.
      Hope it works out!

I've included links for the NT1 kit and other accessories below my video to make it easier. Without computer, check this one below. • @MocasWorld

    • @MocasWorld
      @MocasWorld  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi.. thanks .. here's my long-winded answer since I'm not a pro 😉. The mic socket has pins. The end of the XLR cable with the holes connects to those pins. The end of the XLR cable with the 3 pins, connects directly into an Interface If you don't have an interface, I added an Amazon link in the video description section, which shows some options (I'm still using my old M-Audio interface in the video). Connect the USB part of the interface to your MacBook Air...using a "USB C hub" I believe it's called (my old MacBook Pro in the video has 2 USB connectors built in). Please let me if know if this helps and answered your question.

    can I set this up just to be on my desk rather than on a stand?

    • @MocasWorld
      @MocasWorld  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could certainly try. It may be tricky with the cable connected to the mic though, so maybe if you prop up the shock mount on top of something, so that the cable will be uninhibited? Having it on a regular stand may prevent vibrations that may occur from having it on a flat surface. There are also boom arms that attach (clamp) directly onto your desk, so that may be an alternative. I prefer the mobility of the upright stand, as I use my mic in various areas of my home. It was well worth the 28 euros I spent on it on Amazon.

I have Audiophile grade speakers so when you shift from Camer Audio to the RODE Audio , it feels like a Genie has appeared in my room but then I heard the Outro Audio. The Intro and the Outro Audio needs a huge Boost .... get a better sounding/quality and some other track. Make sure that it sounds better or equivalent to your voice on RODE NT1. The Intro and the Outro Audio are the Hooks into the mind of the Audience.

      No need to apologize. But for me and my needs, it's not that serious LOL. I'm just thankful to have a good solid mic, that gives me good sound (compared to what my camera did before). I'm sure the sound would make a difference if the mic were in a more enclosed area... in a sound booth it would for sure, but I use mine all around my home, depending on where/what I am filming. So the acoustic will vary. And I am ok with that.

      The copper washer came with my "Heldenklang" mic stand. Actually my mic stand also came with the plastic version of the copper washer (same size) but as the copper was sturdier, I used that. Just check to see if any of the washers attached to your mic stand or in the original box fit. If not, you can probably measure, (or take the shock mount with you well protected) to a hardware store. Maybe electronic store would have it too, not sure. Heres my mic stand video th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html The plastic washer (at 4:20 timestamp) in the video, should work if you have it. I measured mine... it is approx. 3/4 inch or 1.905 cm. Hope you find one that fits!🤞

      Most mics come with this brass component or similar. It is a 5/8 inch to 3/8 inch adapter. These are standard sizes in the industry, and any music store will have them. Otherwise, look on eBay etc.

      I have a Heldenklang mic stand with boom arm (Here's my video on that th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html). Might be tricky to have the shock mount lay flat on a desk with the XLR cable attached in the mic. Maybe you could prop up the shock mount with something to allow the cable to hang somehow... until you get a mic stand.
