Night and Day when you move from the Camera audio to the Rode. I was about to curse for making a video that starts with Bad audio .... but what a surprise ending. Thanks for creating the sharp contrast that helps people like me appreciate good sound recording and playback.
Thanks to your unboxing video, I was able to put mine back in the box. I always have trouble getting the shock mount and pop filter put away in the box. Thank you!
I really shouldn't watch these. God I love unboxing a new microphone. Now I have to buy something. I already have the NT1. Grrrrr.... Nice vid. Maybe too nice... :)
Great video...I've had my NT1 for about 12 months...it's great...flat response and uncolored...slightly different pop filter though...oblong shaped metal one
I got my N1 about a month ago and really love it. It has that flat, fat sound that I was looking for. If I have a complaint, and it's only a small one, I find that the pop filter adds weight that makes it very top heavy either on a stand or even more so on a desktop stand - which is how I use it. I had to get a desktop stand with a very heavy base for it to be more stable. It helps a lot but extra care is still needed if you don't want it to tumble. I'm thinking that a pop filter that connects to the stand itself would have made things much better. I'm sure I'll find a way around this. But other than that it's a very good mic. I'm extremely happy with it.
It definitely helps to align the mic/ shock mount/pop filter combo over one of the mic stand legs, for better balance and support. Glad you are enjoying your mic. TIP: Be sure to use the little protective bag to protect the mic when it is not being used. Just remember to remove it when recording... and I always do a quick "mic check"recording, to make sure everything is connected and good to go before proceeding. Enjoy!
Hello, everyone! I just bought and finished setting up this microphone, and I thought I’d address the main issue with the pop filter I had in case anyone ran into a similar problem. If you’re having trouble being able to maintain the vertical adjustments to the pop filter/can’t screw it in enough to stop it spinning in place once everything else is installed, there’s a ring-shaped plastic washer that goes inside the piece you screw that holds the filter place. I didn’t see any of the reviews or tutorials I watched mention this tiny piece, but finding this out saved me from having to order a new filter!

You could certainly try. It may be tricky with the cable connected to the mic though, so maybe if you prop up the shock mount on top of something, so that the cable will be uninhibited? Having it on a regular stand may prevent vibrations that may occur from having it on a flat surface. I am a novice, and it's called good editing LOL! That's my whole point of making these videos (besides that I love gadgets) I like to share info, to help people make sound choices, as other videos on TH-cam have helped me.

Hello Once again... Just curious to know how long does the RODE NT1 last for ? I am a bit new to the Microphone world. I have got a Wave 3 today and planning to get a RODE NT1 shortly. Will be doing a direct comparison between the two and keep one of them with me. My purpose is to record my voice only (I am not a singer) .. just wanna record some youtube tutorials and silly thoughts on my computer.
Hi.. let me start with.. I am no pro... just a regular mic user like you. Having said that... I've had and use my RØDE NT1 weekly, for the past 2+ years... mostly for my TH-cam Videos. I love it and I cover it with the protective bag whenever it's not being used. I keep it out of "harms way" so that, along with the fact that it is made will good quality metal, I anticipate it will last a long time. Assuming nothing goes wrong with the mic internally.
Sorry I went through the video once again... I have Audiophile grade speakers so when you shift from Camer Audio to the RODE Audio , it feels like a Genie has appeared in my room but then I heard the Outro Audio. The Intro and the Outro Audio needs a huge Boost .... get a better sounding/quality and some other track. Make sure that it sounds better or equivalent to your voice on RODE NT1. The Intro and the Outro Audio are the Hooks into the mind of the Audience. Apologies if I went too far... but I am known to be a harsh critic.
No need to apologize. But for me and my needs, it's not that serious LOL. I'm just thankful to have a good solid mic, that gives me good sound (compared to what my camera did before). I'm sure the sound would make a difference if the mic were in a more enclosed area... in a sound booth it would for sure, but I use mine all around my home, depending on where/what I am filming. So the acoustic will vary. And I am ok with that.
@@worstlnplayer hey there .. so currently I only do videos on products that I've personally purchased and use. (I don't currently own or use a mountek mic).

Please help regarding the yellow golden thing the washer that u put inside the shock mount & to the stand because i don't have that & my shock mount is not going inside the micstad I tried alot but it's not working 🙏 please help 😭
The copper washer came with my "Heldenklang" mic stand. Actually my mic stand also came with the plastic version of the copper washer (same size) but as the copper was sturdier, I used that. Just check to see if any of the washers attached to your mic stand or in the original box fit. If not, you can probably measure, (or take the shock mount with you well protected) to a hardware store. Maybe electronic store would have it too, not sure. Heres my mic stand video th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html The plastic washer (at 4:20 timestamp) in the video, should work if you have it. I measured mine... it is approx. 3/4 inch or 1.905 cm. Hope you find one that fits!🤞
Most mics come with this brass component or similar. It is a 5/8 inch to 3/8 inch adapter. These are standard sizes in the industry, and any music store will have them. Otherwise, look on eBay etc.
I'm just using GarageBand on my mac. I suppose you can use any similar software. You'll just need an interface device to connect the mic to the computer, if you don't have one already. I'm using an old M-Audio interface as shown in the video.
What is the mic stand you are using? I don't have any yet, do you think I can record from the sitting position just by placing the mic onto the desk in front of me?
I have a Heldenklang mic stand with boom arm (Here's my video on that th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html). Might be tricky to have the shock mount lay flat on a desk with the XLR cable attached in the mic. Maybe you could prop up the shock mount with something to allow the cable to hang somehow... until you get a mic stand.
It came with my Heldenklang microphone stand. I think it had 2 washers... a plastic AND the copper one I used to attach the shock mount. (Heres my vid for mic stand th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html )

The mic stand with boom arm was purchased separately. The mic stand came with both a plastic and copper washer to attach the rode mic with shock mount. Hope that's what you mean. Here's the link for the mic stand unboxing video showing everything included. I also included an Amazon link for the mic stand in the description section of this video. th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rOmO_2nUs6eE8hNo
@@MocasWorld So in the box of the nt1 the mic adapter was not included
@@JacopoGianfreda Correct.. based on my kit that I purchased 3 years ago. That's not to say that more recent kits won't include it.
Did the mic stand come with the kit ? I can’t find a good mic stand . You made this look so easy to set up I feel dumb lol
Hi... No.. I purchased the mic stand separately. (th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html) Last I checked it was not in stock, but, the store link is in description of the video, or you can just google "mic stand with boom arm". Most of the ones with boom arm are attachable to a desk. Mine isn't... I like the idea that I can move and place it anywhere I want. And I am so happy you thought I made it look easy. I am a novice, and it's called good editing LOL! That's my whole point of making these videos (besides that I love gadgets) I like to share info, to help people make sound choices, as other videos on TH-cam have helped me.

May I ask what kind of input you’re using? I just purchased the same microphone (with it being my first) and completely neglected to get an input 😭
My first mic too! :) I'm using M-Audio interface. It's an old model, which I got from a friend. There are some decent-priced new interfaces available online.
@@MocasWorld thank you for replying!😊 and I see! I’m not familiar with any of this stuff at all, but I’ll look into them for sure. :)

Moca! I want that same mic stand - any idea if I can get it in the US?
The link for the one I purchased through amazon.de (germany) is www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07Y1XLGN2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
See if they deliver to the US, but shipping may be more. Or Maybe search "Heldenklang microphone stand with boom arm" on Amazon.com to see what if it pops us. If no luck, search for "Microphone stand with boom arm" Some stands connect to a desk and some like mine are upright vertical stand. Good luck!
What’s that little thing you used to put with your mic into the stand
Do you mean the little copper washer? It was part of the mic stand package, that I bought separately.
@@MocasWorld you bought mic stand from Amazon?
@@MocasWorld I think I bought the same one
@@RJ1Official Yes
I didn’t get the washer inside it though ?
Thanks so much! This really helps. God bless😊
Thanks for the positive feedback.🙏 I'm glad it helps!

why do you use built in output and not have everything going through your interface?
what's the difference
Hi... I didn't have proper headphones to plug into the interface, so I had to use the built in output to hear the test recording.
Can we hear thru headphone & record internally at the same time?
I need somebody active to respond to me, 1stt I have the entire bundle got it connected through a tripod, with the standard Rode NT1A amplifier then I have a usb c to usb and I connected to a multi usb center that ends with a usb c connector should I use that usb c connector from multi usb center to plug it to my iPhone for tiktok for MacBook Air? what else do I need
@@Caribbean.Galaxy Hi... So I am no pro LOL. I suggest you just play around with the various options for connection that you mentioned... or ask a knowledgeable employee at an electronics store, since you have so much going on. All the best! 👍

Is there a difference between real and fake?
How to tell if it is a real product? Please help me.
Where are you purchasing it from? I bought from a local retailer. Just make sure it is from a reputable seller. The metal structure of the mic and the accessories is nice and heavy, and they have the RØDE logo.

Otherwise, look on eBay etc.
just got mine.....What software do you recommend to use with this device?
I'm just using GarageBand on my mac. I suppose you can use any similar software. You'll just need an interface device to connect the mic to the computer, if you don't have one already. I'm using an old M-Audio interface as shown in the video.
Audacity software is free and great for voice over applications.
Maybe you could prop up the shock mount with something to allow the cable to hang somehow... until you get a mic stand.
bro wheres the washer come from i didnt get one of those
It came with my Heldenklang microphone stand. I think it had 2 washers... a plastic AND the copper one I used to attach the shock mount. (Heres my vid for mic stand th-cam.com/video/Yobkn_JboRs/w-d-xo.html )
hey what audio interface are u using in this video i would like to buy it whats the name?
I'm using "M-Audio" interface. It's an old one. There are several interface models out there. I think any of them would be fine.
@@MocasWorld do u think the M audio would be good with the rode nt1a mic too? Sorry I'm just not very experienced with these things
@@jmoxie4425 I'm not 💯 sure as I'm not a pro at these things.. but I assume it would work. I don't think it has to be "m audio" though. That's just an old one I had. I think any interface would work. If you can, ask at local tech store or if you buy off Amazon, you can "ask seller" before you purchase... just to be sure.

is there a link for the boom arm?
The Heldenklang stand I bought on Amazon.de, is "not currently available" (I just checked). You can just search on Google or Amazon for "Boom Arm" or "Mic stand with Boom Arm" and see what might work best for your needs. Just note that, some boom arms attach only to a desk, and are not on a regular mic stand. www.amazon.de/-/en/Heldenklang-Microphone-Stand/dp/B07Y1XLGN2/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BKCRDVBVJW3CGWWA370D

is it including with the microphone stand ?
No.. the microphone stand is separate (the 4 items included are listed)
@@MocasWorld thanks !
does it come with the M-Audio?
No... you have to get that separately. My M-Audio is an older model. You can google "audio interfaces" to see what is currently available. I believe Røde also sells their own interface.
Heyy does the washer come in the box
If you mean the copper washer... no... that came in the mic stand box (Heldenklang), which was purchased separately.
@@MocasWorld ok ty...also do u know where i can get such a washer
@@_callme_han_6766 I imagine any hardware store/department might have it. Maybe just take a quick photo and also measure the opening beforehand, so you get the correct size. Unless you don't mind taking the mic with you. But if you have a mic stand, it should have come with a washer for connecting any mic. :)
hello what is the white box connected to the microphone ?
It's an interface... Connects microphone with computer and GarageBand (or whatever you use to master your recordings) mine is an older M-AUDIO interface, but there are several brands available out there.

@@MocasWorld my mic stand didn't come with a washer so I can just get a copper washer from a hardware store and it will work?
@@stevetrams4242 Take the washer that that you are using now to a hardware store and see if they have a copper washer that same size. (Keep your receipt just in case it doesn't help and you want to return it) I can't guarantee anything ...I'm no pro😉.. I just know that my copper washer works fine and I don't have the issue you're describing. If that doesn't work, you may have to contact Røde or directly. Let me know if my suggestion with the copper washer helps.
@@MocasWorld I don't have a washer I need one and the issue I'm having is not the microphone it's the pop filter that won't tighten
@@stevetrams4242 ahh ok. I misunderstood your first post then. Do you have the exact same round pop filter as I have in my video... My pop filter attaches to the shock mount with a wide black oval-shaped knob at the base of the pop filter. And then the top round part of the filter and the extendable adjustable rod part of it screws into the round receptor. None of those require a washer and if you tighten it it should stay firmly in place. If you still can't get it to work I suggest contacting the retailer directly for guidance. It may be defective or missing a part. Let me know the outcome pls, in case someone else contacts me with same issue.
Can someone come explain to my why the pop filter is completely different and online it ways it was discontinued?. Was it discontinued and made its return?
Sorry.. no idea why. I imagine each "kit" may be available for a limited time and the kit contents may vary from time to time.
@@MocasWorld that’s what I’m thinking because it’s not like this is fake or anything it’s still sold by the same company and still has the same mic the only difference is the pop filter maybe they switched it because this pop filter sounds more professional
