    That kling clip looked the most real to me by far. High res or more movement doesn't mean anything when it's hallucinating or super unnatural looking.

      That's true, it's definitely a balance that an artist has to decide.

    Gen-2 image-to-video was pretty wild, so I can't wait to test Gen-3. I finished a big video project in Gen-2 one day before Gen-3 released image-to-video feature... :)

    After several tests, I found that Luma AI is pretty good for shots with limited movement, and their prices are great compared to Runway Gen 3. I also suggest using the Runway Gen 3 Turbo model, which consumes 25 credits and has no significant difference in quality compared to the standard Gen 3 model. However, everything is limited to the specific topic you want to animate, but I'm using both Luma AI and Runway Gen 3.

    To all the aspiring filmmakers watching this, theres nothing wrong with ocassionally using AI tools to enchance what you have when you dont have a budget, but please focus on doing the real work. Art is valuable because of the human touch. Its ofc subjective, but Id much rather look at a film full of real people with large pores and shoddy camera movement as long as it has personality. If everyone can spend a few minutes generating images of spaceships and zombies, then they start to mean nothing. If you just want to have fun and mess around then thats totally okay, but just remember that if these tools are used the wrong way, we could be looking at a future where its impossible for humans to make a living as painters, musicians, writers, actors, or directors. That kinda future sounds very dark to me, so lets prevent it from happening by not relying on these tools

    • @curiousrefuge
      @curiousrefuge  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      At the end of the day, regardless of the tools used, it's all about the human emotion and storytelling :)

    • @xollerx
      @xollerx 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @elijahcassidy The dinosaurs didn't die because an asteroid hit the Earth, they died because they couldn't adapt. The ongoing fear of AI reminds me 12 years ago during the "DSLR revolution" when grumpy old men complained about it being too easy to make films shooting with DSLRs now looking like film. What happened? The creative kids using new tools made the old grumpy guys extinct... The argument that "AI is taking our jobs" fundamentally shows that you're just a dinosaur unable to adapt. Adapt or go extinct. Reality doesn't care about your opinions - your ability to adapt to reality is what matters.
      If AI tools makes me obsolete after +20 years of experience as a filmmaker, well, that just means that I'm a sh*t filmmaker. So instead of fearing AI I should fear myself not being good enough to use the new tools in an optimal way. Look yourself in the mirror and as the easy but tough question - am I willing to adapt, or do I want to be a dinosaur? The choice is yours, and don't blame someone else.

    I've tried both gen3 gen2 and kling, they all are fun for about an hour but pretty much useless at this point if you're trying to create something with any purpose. Give it another 3 months and hopefully they they will figure out how to control the output more. Most generations look good for about 4 seconds and then fall apart. You might have to spend a whole day trying to get just one clip to use. Which makes it unusable for professional creators on a long term basis. But soon we will al be making star wars remakes over a weekend.

    Thanks for the great tip about using Rhea over Proteus with Topaz. The difference in sharpness is night and day. Quick question: Would you use frame interpolation with Gen-3 video like we do with Gen-2? To my eyes it does seem to make the results a little smoother, but it might just be a placebo effect.

    • @curiousrefuge

      It's worth testing, but may not be necessary. It also depends on what frame rate your project needs to be.

    This is really cool. I can see how creatives can create films from this, or at least that’s the direction it’s going.
    But, what are other business use cases for this technology? If someone gets good with this, how can they make money with the videos they create? Are people selling them? Or is it just for the entertainment industry?

    • @curiousrefuge
      @curiousrefuge  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well there is scertainly no easy magic bullet - otherwise everyone would be doing it :). But in addition to entertainment purposes, people have been using these tools to enhance their own existing creativity when it comes to other things totally different than digital assets. One example - using AI for designs for things like pillows, sheets, covers and physical assets. This is just one very random example.

      I think he got paid off by Runway...as well as Topaz AI! The latest version of Kling works great and is very reliable, as well as the 720p also. LUMA is also 720p and very good. If you use both, you can get good results from one of them if the other is stubborn. As soon as Runway 3 has a trial version I'll give it a shot, but I find it hard to believe they have solved the AI video issues, and the price is ridiculous. It's frustrating that Runway Gen-3 does not have the feature to export at 4K. Ridiculas. As you know, Runway charges per render, not per download. That eats up the credits really fast. It works in their financial favor to render unusable clips and charge per render. Most renders are garbage. I tried Topaz to upscale a clip. Looked great, but at $254, I think I'll look elsewhere. Thanks for a great video. Very helpful.

    I have one question here , why not stable diffusion to generate images in place of MJ, i previously worked on MJ and now I am working on Stable diffusion , and I feel it create much realistic images then MJ. Mj is good for artistic and concept work , but if we talk about realism, stable is the best.

    It's great, but I'm finding it very expensive for each generation, and Kling is cheaper. I'd really like it to be able to mange a square image too, as all my generation is image to image, and because my work is designed to be viewed on mobile devices, the square format suits, so I'm hanging out for when you have square. In my videos I use different generators for different kinds of images because some work better on some things than others. Runway does drone shots better than any of the others.

      To be honest, there are certainly upscaling alternatives but none of them come even close to Topaz. People have talked about using Capcut to upscale, but you won't find the same control or AI settings.
