The Dotara (An indigenous folk string instrument from Bengal) in the original song was played by my Father Lt.Paritosh Roy,in the iconic Satyajit Ray’s composition Kotoi rongo dekhi duniyay (This world astounds me with its different shades) in his 1980 political satire, Hirak Rajar Deshe.And my father came to be known as one of the finest Dotara players and folk composer in Bengal of that era.
Hence i pay a humble tribute to him on the very same instrument which was used by him and to the Indian Film Maestro Lt.Satyajit Ray who's compositions are immortal and timeless.

Boss - you did so much justice to this exceptional folk song. I noticed that you are using a Bangladesh style 3-string dotara (excluding the pair of root note) instead of the more common west bengal 4 string dotara which are usually all metal strings and sound more like a mini Sarod. Is the Bangladesh style dotara also common in West Bengal?

Are the string like in mandolin? E-A-D-G? whats the name of this instrument....
This instrument called Dotara, Bengali folk string instrument, tuned not like a Mandolin
It has 4 strings Low to High high strings tuned G#, C#, F#. 1st one( thin string) is single string tuned F#, middle couple strings tuned C# like Mandolin you have to play both strings together, again Lower one single string tuned G# ,
