so many frequencies in car bomb going on, live must be a nightmare. Drum cam works well because its drum forwards, all that spurious guitar can sit behind in the mix. Works well as you say.
Carbomb is the most underappreciated band in the metal genre. They are so good and Elliot is a huge part of that. It KILLS me that he's playing these super complicated parts and fast double kicks and it's like just another day at the office. Disgustingly good.
Arguably the most innovative and revolutionary band in metal right now. Elliot is just preposterously good. He’s as technical as Weckl and as tasty as Collaiuta. Or maybe it’s the other way round? In any case, Elliot is the chosen one. The only one who can touch him is Garstka .
his Vinnie influence is so incredibly blatant lol. Checkout Kenny Grohowski (if you haven’t), another guy who’s got a massive Vinnie influence in his playing.
The guitar work is nuts also. I love the use of pitch shifting tastefully - I wish there was more community resources about his guitar sounds on the Fractal units .. as someone just getting into this digital world... I'd happily pay for presets/courses.
My favourite band in terms of heavy vibes and rhythmic groove. The actual vibes. i love the deftones kinda vocal parts vocal and the creative use of guitar, might not be modally complex but so out of the box, really inspires me to just play and forget about the notes, it all comes with feel anyway. Don't even start me on the HOFF, living legend
Please please please do more videos like this. You guys are in a league of your own and you sir are nothing short of an enigma. Carbomb are for me the most interesting band in the metal scene and no matter how many times I listen to your albums they never get boring at all in the slightest.
Elliot is obviously incredible, a truly amazing player-but he's not the only one. Greg's guitar is I think, as good technically as the drumming, he is a total innovator like Elliot and is extremely original in his approach. And Jon Modell has to keep up with all that madness, huge guitars and drums and he does an incredible job too. And Mike is a fantastic singer, power, range and he throws his own curve balls in there. On the whole, Car Bomb is just a truly incredible band ALL UP-all accounted for, all players. Theyre innovators and I think they are serious competition for Meshuggah.
Can't say I've ever seen someone play like this. Truly original in every sense of the word, let alone technically unmatched and his groove can't be replicated, period!
So bummed I won’t be able to see you play with Car Bomb on this tour. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration to every drummer out there and would love to meet you one day
holy fuck. Elliot you and your friends are our heroes. Can't get enough of your apparently effortless mastery. We're working on a cover of The Sentinel as we speak, for band practise. There is some kind of genuine sonic and compositional truth in your music that very few metal bands have. Having all these incredible drum cams available here for free is a true blessing.
How often do you see anyone playing a 14x3.5" picollo snare these days as their primary snare. Gives me nostalgia for the 90s and Tim Alexander's snare sound on Suck on This and Frizzle Fry. :)) Love how Elliot is making it cool again ;)
Awww - I wish I would have been able to watch this live!!!! Just before the COVID - lockdown here in Germany they played a show in Cologne in a small club - just mind-blowing!!! Mr. Hoffman is such a nice guy - I had a quick chat with him right after the show.... Thank you very much Car Bomb!!!! I am going to be 52 years old this year and these guys are one of my all-time favs!!!🤘🤘🤘
Not tryin to beat a dead horse, but it was really cool you guys came to fort wayne. I actually know more people (from my group and people I talked to) that were there to see you guys than btbam, although most were there for both. You got love in fort wayne if you decide to come back.
Indeed. But they took the elasticness of Nothing and made it their own. To the point I prefer Car Bombs writing over Meshuggah these days :) Nothing against Meshuggah but being a drummer, I just love Elliot's drumming - no click track and a really natural drum sound minus the kick triggers.
Yes, watch that Yogev video. Then go check out Metal Music Theory, they have several great videos on Car Bomb as well but their entire channel is nothing but really interesting breakdowns of some very technical and niche metal. Can't recommend both channels enough, anyone into both theory and Car Bomb should go binge both immediately if they haven't already.
@@TheSquareOnes Yogev is freaking awesome at breaking down this kinda stuff :) It's visually really easy to understand. I would like to have alot more indept understanding on what they are thinking, and how they are writing these kinda songs, and this kind of music. I would like to know what goes on in his head, while he is playing it :)
@@andersjustiniano9653 There's a massive 20 minute video by Metal Music Theory that goes in depth at a high level dissecting the rhythmic parallax in Blackened Battery, highly recommend.
I think this is the clearest sound quality of all Car Bomb live videos out there... Please do more!!
nah it’s this one th-cam.com/video/9hwpmqHSNSw/w-d-xo.html
Was literally about to type the same thing.

Underappreciated by who? Pozdro666
Elliot is on the level of Haake and Garstka, it's so unfair he's not as recognized. All Hail Elliot.
Please, the second that it is at all viable, PLEASE, come to Australia

I saw you guys in Denver and I caught your last drumstick Elliot! Dream come true!!
Watching Elliot 7 days a week is never enough! 🙏🤩🤩🍻🍻
Sounds like it's falling apart and coming together at the same time
That’s the whole appeal. Chaos that you the listener think is just going to fall apart. But it always comes right back together.
Elliot Hoffman ,il Colaiuta del metal
Good God dude you make it look so effortless *mind blown*
this is what comes next for metal.
This stuff is so tasty Elliot! Ridiculously complex but you always manage to nail everything effortlessly. You’re truly one of a kind sir!
elliot is a fucking beast but lets not forget how amazing the guitarist is to keep up while juggling all those effects on his pedals and boards lol

Couldn’t have said it better 🤘
They're like the mind blowing offspring of Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan
The use of the guitar is wild, doing so much with so little it's scary

I love this 90s metal snare and the garbage can snare and just tuning it up hella tight
legendary RandyEdwards, always nailing the HD vid with high quality audio
What is even happening here!? Man you're a huge inspiration and example of just, true mastery. Thank you.
Way better than sick drummer cams. Whoever filmed this did a great job

I live for these video's, can't wait to see you guys live again! Hope you can visit Europe again soon.
I just saw you guys on Tuesday in Denver and it was literally the best concert I've ever been to! Fucking amazing

Another upload! At long last!
Precision! A master at work!
The syncopation and fills here are insane! Never heard this band before but I think I'll be hearing a lot more of them soon!
PLEASE more videos like this, so clear
Elliott and Randy, thank you.
*HOLYSHIT! JUST FOUND THIS!*
Not as much fun as being there but- damn, this is as close as I've ever felt.
I saw CB live in Vienna. The best gig I've ever seen
I need that snare
Welcome back!!
That's my boo thang!

Wow, so clean live!
This tour is killer. Saw them second night in Virginia Beach.
I used to play in a band w Eliott in VaBeach
Omg! Your drums sound amazing in this. Best snare I've heard in metal hands down! 🤘🏼
good!

Hey Elliot, could you make a little iphone video going through your live rig? I think a ton of people including myself would LOVE that!
Hooked on CarBomb 10 seconds into the first track I heard...
