@Jordan_elaine Yup. I have a reading system. 😊 My TBR is planned out right now through February with the exception of 1 week in both January and February reserved for a bookclub book, which won't be chosen until November. I'm a planner/lists/check it off girl. The organization is part of the fun.
@Jordan_elaine Well, I usually schedule in an hour a day to read. Not every day is the same, so some days I might read an extra hour or two to make up for a day when I couldn't or was too tired or what have you. I can read about 50 pages per hour generally, so a 250-ish page book would be done in only 5 days or so, which means I can add in another book on those extra days. Along with that... I'm old, so I know myself well enough to know what my moods will be at different times of the year AND I'll read just about anything so I've not pigeon-holed myself into a certain genre that I then get tired of. When you mix it up all the time, you're more likely to just feel ready for whatever is next. Non-fiction can sometimes take more brain power, but I'm not super likely to have 2 of anything the same in a row, so even an intimidating book is easier to talk myself into just starting. I also, of course, do have something "seasonal" scheduled into at least one week of the months where it's appropriate, so the holiday/seasonal itch always gets scratched for me too. 😊
I gave both The Love Hypothesis & Assistant to the Villain 5 stars. Just be forewarned Assistant to the Villain is very slow paced the 1st half of the book, but the second half is chef's kiss. I gave The Unmaking of June Farrow 2 stars. I hope you like it more than I did.
