I live in the Zone of Nicoya.......elders eat meat......grass fed beef (no antibiotics or hormones) ........locally bread pigs....mostly free range chicken.......& it's true "what will we eat with our rice & beans?" 3 X's a day............no fluoride in the water...non GMO corn (Monsanto was kicked out years ago)....organic local vegetables...still plant beans, rice & corn....Food is cooked at home......They are with family & have respect & still love to get out with a machete to chop weeds. Ticos live in the present moment.....the reply to many questions is "🌻Pura Vida 🌻 " & love a celebration.....of anything!

Health Conscious People, They focus on the diet and life styles as simple as can be there is no such rocket science guidelines its their own cultures while Loma Linda follows Gods Recipes for longivity. And it shows that its not hard to trust and obey to laws of Health and Happiness from Gods Word.

As much as the researchers try to make it sound, other than Loma Linda, none of the blue zone communities are vegan. If you watch the documentaries on each specific blue zone area, they eat a lot more meat than is described by the researchers. The Sardinians eat quite a bit of meat.

I agree and I wonder if the better way they should be addressing this is that they eat far more vegetation (along with the meat) than non-blue zones. So yeah they eat meat but they also eat a lot more whole grains and vegetables as well, so that balance comes into play.

One easy way to get more exercise is to stop using chairs at home and at work. Can even try to just squat over the chairs instead of actually using the chairs. Most blue zones got lots of exercise bec they do not have cars. Okinawa diet is now one of the unhealthiest in Japan. Okinawa now eats more animal products and no longer eat lots of sweet potato as a staple food. People who are reducing or eliminating animal products should take vitamin b12 supplement.

I have been living this way for decades. Eat vegan, I refuse to drive when I can walk or cycle, grow and/or forage as much food as I can, cook it all myself etc. I have added to it extracts of resveratrol and lion’s mane fungus to combat ageing and cognitive decline. I have never felt better or been more healthy.

Well youre not living under the truth of blue zones. Youre living under a lie put together by people who have misinterpreted studies.

Most adventists live longer than other americans bec most adventists do not smoke and do not drink wine. About 50% of adventists are omnivores. Of the more health conscious adventists, the adventist health study 2 divided them into 4 groups : 1) those who eat animal products about once a month. 2) those who consume dairy, eggs and seafood. 3) ovolactovegetarians. 4) vegans.

Not smoming is a association. Ikarians (Greek blue zone) smoke a lot but they also eat a lot of fat, both fruit (extra virgin olive) oil) and animal fat (ghee, tallow)
