I know critics aren't sold on The Newsroom, but this is the only show on television that actually makes me think about it long after the episode ends - and that alone will keep me tuning in.
Wow Aaron is the first to agree with me about recovery. I always said that there is always an excuse to use. Bad times I gotta numb up. Great moment I got to celebrate. Cool things I wonder if it is better if I'm high. It's not just about the low points. Huge point for Aaron Sorkin!
Being in a good place when you're depressed isn't a sign that depression is over and gone, either. Watching how fragile happiness is, and how life beating you down has made the bar for happiness unreasonably low, and the vast distance between a moment of happiness and an enduring routine of happiness can make happiness itself depressing.
I watched the entire series for the first time only recently. Loved it and to my eyes and ears, it was relevant in the period it was filmed and holds up well in retrospect. However, it was very disappointing to me it ended after 3 seasons and the 3rd was not even a full season. Perhaps this comes off as arbitrary, but to me, it “felt like” the series should’ve ran its course in 5 full seasons. It amazes me Sorkin is/was the sole writer.
Th harsh reality is when somebody tries to make an impact, people get mad because they're not smart enough to understand, Will McAvoy is basically Aaron Sorkin, but it news.
mark pope i guess I ain’t a morning person ._.” Since I always give a moment b4 I start speaking. Because if I speak fast, I never realized the punch I was actually giving was misleading or stuttering....
***** even when they are backstage? I dont recall se that many weird zoom ins on profesional broadcast either. Feels more like 90s dads with camcorders ;)

I've watched it three times already, the entire show, and it's still so relevant and it gives you so much food for thought, it's really impressive
man, newsroom is one of my fav. shows ever ... brilliant writing from aaron sorkin as usual ..... 1-2 season were just too good and brilliant ......

Who disagrees with you though? That's on point.
Would love to see it comeback. Amazing show, cast, stories. Ended too soon
That Jane Fonda comment about Charlie Rose definitely doesn't hold up
That was incredibly fun, even the off topic part had a life changing gem, glad it didnt killed the mood.
ugh, the end of this is so gross knowing what we know now about Charlie Rose

Gayle King always introduces some pop culture non sequitur into an interesting conversation and derails it.

6:20 "Back to the Newsroom". Love it. nice try Gale.. Charley wasn't having it
"Oscar award winning.. winner.."
Just. Wow.
Yep. The hipster thing is not to like it...
I don't think Charlie is a morning person. He can hardly get the words out of his mouth.

whats up with the weird zoom-ins?
NostalgiNorden The entire show is shot like it's a live broadcast.

The Zimmerman verdict, a plane crash and… waiting for the royal baby. Tell me you didn’t watch the show without telling me you didn’t watch the show.
Aaron Sorkin, What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
How ironic that, given the context of the Newsroom, this "journalist" subtlety brings up his past addiction
Wow, this clip aged badly 😁
I miss this show
Got
I can't watch this dribble. What a bunch of dumb questions and comments from the hosts.
season 3 was the worst mannnn ....... sam waterson dying was just crazy LOL
True, but then we got him back on Grace and Frankie, so it's all good.
