Theories: -The Mysterious Figure is a Nobody, spawning in the ruins of the Land of Departure. Hints toward that of Eraqus, in a similar vein to the creation of Namine. Doesn't explain the coat crafted by Ansem the Wise- a cornerstone of O13, which doesn't exist yet. -The Mysterious Figure is a time-traveler. May explain his hostility towards the main trio. Not enough info to confirm or deny. Certainties: -Body type suggests male. -He is a badass atm. -He'll probably be a main character later. :P
Maxing out Treasure Magnet works wonders in getting your commands back quickly, and if you have Magic Pulse 4 or Teleport Spike, gives very long invincibility frames and can damage MF if he's close, which he likely will be when you use Counter Blast on him and his clones. If you're caught in Collision Magnet, a maxed out Air Slide away from him will get you out without damage. Managed to beat him without Surge spam this way, rather using ranged attacks like Fission Firaga and Thundaga Shot when you're a safe ways away to take advantage of Aqua's high Magic.
YOU GOT SO LUCKY at 5:25. Usually when you get caught in that whip, it's an automatic death. Since he usually does a quicker move after lifting you up and throwing you down. Nice vid
@feckno1 The sound quality is MUCH better in 720p than 480p. Visual quality is slightly improved as well, if you have good enough eyes to notice (I do).
@TwilightMasterCK1 It's pretty "easy" to do this without surges for Aqua & Ven. I say easy as in not much tougher than what I did in this video since I only used the Surge move about 5-7 times. For Terra, you either need Surge spam or Shotlock spam combined with massive luck. And I've caught onto patterns during his invisible move to know when I get a break in between some attacks.
@camtbone96 At the end of Re:Coded, there's a mentioning to another person... I have NO clue what this means. Mickey is told that Xehanort will return soon enough, Mickey however replies that Sora, Riku and himself could do the work. However, Yen Sid replies to Mickey: "Would a single one of you suffice if what you faced was not a single one of him?" I have NO clue what or who this is mentioning, but it could be this Mysterious Figure has something to do with that clue. Just a guess.
Wow, surprisingly good guesses, the only thing wrong is that he isn't a nobody, but by now you probably know who he actually is unless you've distanced yourself from the 3D spoilers
@BBoiiLite In KH2, the mysterious fighter (Terra's suit of armor) was actually a protagonist. This fighter has the fighting style of Roxas (also a protagonist) so I'm thinking that's who he turns out to be/actually is. Just sayin.
SPOILERS It's well known now as of Dream Drop Distance that this is Young Xehanort, as Ansem SoD went back in time and gave Young Xehanort his time-control powers (don't really know HOW..). The keyblade he uses isn't exactly the same, as it bears some detailing not unlike Master Xehanort's keyblade (i.e. having the demonic goat head at the end of the blade, wings in the guard, etc). The swords he uses are what's left of his keyblade when he transforms it and activates his time travel powers.
I found this battle easier with Aqua because her block is 360'. It made it much easier, Ven wasn't so bad either, mainly because his dodge roll was effective. Terra, however, was a mission. So hard. So many attempts. I managed all three on critical on ~Lv48 for all three.
I suppose I forgot the possibility that the Mysterious Figure is the Nobody of Xehanort. As in, the body of Xehanort that disappeared in the Keyblade Graveyard when he committed Grand Theft Me on Terra. Course, that doesn't explain why his introduction was so... brief... or why he has no clear attribute, since it would make sense if Xehanort had a Darkness-attribute Nobody... But hey, what attribute would Eraqus' be in the original theory? Law? Order? Some weird crazy shit like that? No idea...
@sorakaba99 Standing in the air really isn't a big deal in this series. Each of the main characters have abilities that make them hover in the air and momentarily defy other laws of physics. No idea where Xigbar came from, think you meant Xemnas both times. Thing is, Xemnas' Ethereal Blades extended directly from his palms. This guy's swords clearly have handles, and can be thrown. It's not Xemnas, however similar he may be. Though you're right, I suppose I shouldn't negate Xehanort just yet....
Guys this is Young Xehanort not Ansem or Xemnas. Nomura confirmed that before KH DDD (Dream Drop Distance) came out. Also, when you beat the Mysterious figure, you get the SAME EXACT keyblade that Young Xehanort uses when you fight him as Riku. Also, they have the same music with a little bit of differences.
You could figure that out yourself after playing DDD with a little common sense along with the fact that Young Xehanort uses the same time freeze attack when triggering the Reality Shift
@DrakeDraco2000 The coat is crafted by Ansem the Wise? I thought it was something Xehanort made since he was wearing it earlier in the game? Good points otherwise.
I also do know there is a Possible Glitch with him... If you Use Ventus And Use MultiVortex While Hitting Ur Command Button For Ars Arcanum. There is a possible Glitch where you Either, Freeze MS and he wouldnt Move, you can just keep attacking for however long you want, OR you dont get damage
I know this comment is old and you may know the answer, but Mysterious Figure is young Xehanort. Ansem the Wise finds Xehanort, giving young Xehanort time travel powers in which he used to find the next members of Organization XIII.
@Thesleepyninja This isn't Roxas. I'm going to say this right now, it's not even possible for it to be Roxas. Think of the timeline here. Ven's Destiny Island scenes show that Sora is only about 9 during BBS. Sora was 14 during KH1, when Roxas was created. Unless Roxas invented a time machine, MF is not Roxas.
Purely Amazing... I have done 100% Complete On All character on BBS but i did take me a few months.... and I counted how long it would take me to Kill The MS with Aqua.... It took 24 Minutes but with Terra it was 36 Minutes and Ventus took over an Hour.....
@sorakaba99 Umm... no, his heartless would just have to be CREATED to make a Nobody. They're made at the same time, one's death doesn't lead to the Other.
Ever thought about doing KH: Birth by Sleep Final Mix battles? If you were to ever import the game, I know there are some downloadable patches you can get on your PSP to make it English text instead of Japanese...
"-The Mysterious Figure is a time-traveler. - Body type suggest male. - He'll probably be a main character" I'd say that's right on the nose, actually.
To be honest, Royal Radiance isn't good for this fight imo. You want less form changes instead of more, since if a form runs out it can eat dodge inputs.
I could see the double gauge rate being a double edged sword in a bunch of ways, that obnoxious dodge quirk chief among them lol. On the other hand, I have a feeling the supposed 2x multiplier on its crits would be too juicy for me to pass up.
It bugs me how Aqua's the most acrobatic-like of the Keybladers, but she's the slowest :/ Then again, it's kinda physically impossible to be fast and do those flips at the same time.
this Boss is pure Luck. I beat him with Terra. now trying with Aqua but in the second Phase he kills me with his death spell. After get caught 3 Times spamming X as fast as u can it doenst matter he kills you....
dude if you think this one is hard try no heart man e broke my thumbs trying to dodge him and i finished the game lvl 80 and owned MF no commands but i donno how to make vids so can you tell me how
This is the HARDEST BOSS FIGHT I HAVE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE and for a couple reasons 1: that tornado attack that blows off your commands that ahit is annoying its easy to avoid but when you get hit you may think your fucked and sometimes you are.2:you can't attack him with your keyblade or YOU ARE FUCKED because he will pull a chaos control and have time to hit you.3:his second phase where he turns invisable he can just start hitting you out of no where and that's FUCKING ANNOYING BUT I can get passed it but no. 4 NO.4 FUCKKKING 4 THOSE DAMN GOD FORSAKEN PURE EVIL COMBO HAPPY CLONES THESE THINGS DO NOT NEED TO EXIST AT ALL THEY ARE NOT FUN BECAUSE ON ONE OF THE MANY ATTEMPTS TO BEAT HIM AND THIS MAY HAVE HAPPEN TO ME ONLY ONCE BUT ONCE IS ALL I NEED I GOT HIT BY MULTIPLE CLONE COMBO EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS HITTING ME AND WHEN THEY ALL FADED THE WORST THING HAPPEN AND CAN HAPPEN IN THIS FIGHT... If you get hit by a combo from every single clone you get FUCKING DAZED AND I MAY HAVE BEATEN THIS FIGHT BUT THAT PAIN WAS TO GREAT AND THE FIGHTS NOT FAIR FUCK THIS FIGHT and if I have one tip try to attack every time after he does his x-scissor attack just fuck this fight.
This guy blurs the line between legitimate challenge and cheap ass cheating piece of crap. I used the Surge method with Ven and Void Gear. Its absolutely crazy how luck is required in this fight. And he's the only enemy in the game to resist Mines. I gave up on trying to combo with the keyblade as the damage wasn't that great and he would just rewind time after the last hit, leaving me open. I prayed for his X-Blade attack since its easy to predict. And this fight is canon with one of the 3
Aqua is just too weak. This fight's manageable for Ven and Terra at level 45, but Aqua NOPE. She doesn't dish out enough damage with the surges. The stats in this game are just so unbalanced...
Aqua is consider the best out of the three. Terra is not a good choice for this fight since you don't have I-frames at the end of the slide. Ven and Aqua do, Thus making this fight much easier.
This fight again can be easily done. It's hard at first because BBS has shitty combat and you don't know his patterns. But like every KH boss you can easily predict what MF is going to do, hell the only reason people do it with Surge commands because he can't bullshit his way out of an attack when you do, and plus the I-Frames it gives are pretty nice.
Purely amazing :) I really like your fighting style :D
Theories:

Good Job lmao, time traveler confirmed
Nice fight! Good to see someone who doesn't spam the surges
I only beat him with ven on proud, my analog stick is warn out on the inside so the battle against him is now impossible
Maxing out Treasure Magnet works wonders in getting your commands back quickly, and if you have Magic Pulse 4 or Teleport Spike, gives very long invincibility frames and can damage MF if he's close, which he likely will be when you use Counter Blast on him and his clones. You can only escape Collision Magnet on FM version.
you can actually escape collision magnet, when you're stuck in it in the air, spam cure/surge type commands and you'll use it and escape
YOU GOT SO LUCKY at 5:25.
Usually when you get caught in that whip, it's an automatic death. Since he usually does a quicker move after lifting you up and throwing you down.

@Bizkit047
That has to say something where they actually tone down something in Final Mix which is suppose to have the most difficult bonus bosses.

Wow, this sure is a relic
@Thesleepyninja Just because he's wearing an Organization robe doesn't mean he's from the Organization.
I suppose I forgot the possibility that the Mysterious Figure is the Nobody of Xehanort. As in, the body of Xehanort that disappeared in the Keyblade Graveyard when he committed Grand Theft Me on Terra.

HyperProbability I know, but most people in the comments didnt know that.
+boblybob74 Oh I figured as much, I was just adding to what you put
@tyranitarphantom That is only in the Final Mix version. In the original game version, it is not possible to escape.
@DrakeDraco2000 The coat is crafted by Ansem the Wise? I thought it was something Xehanort made since he was wearing it earlier in the game? Good points otherwise.

@sorakaba99 I know. That was the first of my theories. The one you attempted to correct was just the third. :P
I know this comment is old and you may know the answer, but Mysterious Figure is young Xehanort. Ansem the Wise finds Xehanort, giving young Xehanort time travel powers in which he used to find the next members of Organization XIII.
@Thesleepyninja yes, but Roxas is in Organization XIII. And I am partially blind. How do you feel now?
@Thesleepyninja
This isn't Roxas. I'm going to say this right now, it's not even possible for it to be Roxas. Think of the timeline here. Ven's Destiny Island scenes show that Sora is only about 9 during BBS. Sora was 14 during KH1, when Roxas was created. Unless Roxas invented a time machine, MF is not Roxas.
and so, the man who no damaged the impossible lingering will back in Kingdom Hearts 2fm was finally bested in his art.
You are very skilled in Kingdom Hearts Games.
Purely Amazing... I have done 100% Complete On All character on BBS but i did take me a few months.... and I counted how long it would take me to Kill The MS with Aqua.... It took 24 Minutes
but with Terra it was 36 Minutes and Ventus took over an Hour.....
He's Young Xehanort. The keyblade you get by defeating him is almost exactly identical to young xehanorts so yea, i'm calling him that
What was your recording setup for this, if you remember? It looks better than I'd expect from PSP footage.
I only remember I believe using RemoteJoyLite IIRC.
Thanks!
This battle needs more cartwheels
@Oblivion0101 Mysterious figure is usually of an antagonist in the next game. I.E Xehanort/Xemnas in kingdom hearts one.
@sorakaba99 Umm... no, his heartless would just have to be CREATED to make a Nobody. They're made at the same time, one's death doesn't lead to the Other.
1:21 that attack from the Mysterious Figure was so OP the video restarted.
Isn't this technically supposed to take place before the final battle because Tetsuya Nomura said it has parts of the story in KH 3D
Ever thought about doing KH: Birth by Sleep Final Mix battles?
If you were to ever import the game, I know there are some downloadable patches you can get on your PSP to make it English text instead of Japanese...
How about no dodgeroll spam restriction.
I'm roughly quoting another TH-camr who No Damage'd this guy as Ven.
The lamppost... "Think of it as a bench."
@VentusUnbirth There's people that had beat him without surges at all.
can someone tell me how to get this boss im in beginner (new to game)
Hey bizkit how do you record these games?
i think its smee
Looks like a Xemnas doppelganger.
@VentusUnbirth Alot of people have beat him legitly
Infact he did the same thing everyone does, just pack a surge attack and use it when he's opem
It wasn't Ansem the Wise it was Ansem, Seeker Of Darkness (Xehanort's Heartless)
"-The Mysterious Figure is a time-traveler.
- Body type suggest male.
- He'll probably be a main character"
I'd say that's right on the nose, actually.
I'm only about level 40 trying this fight for the first time. Where is a good place to level up and what is the best leveling setup?
Probably way too late, but curious why you chose Ultima keyblade and not royal radiance
This was original NA PSP BBS, so Royal Radiance didn't exist yet.
To be honest, Royal Radiance isn't good for this fight imo. You want less form changes instead of more, since if a form runs out it can eat dodge inputs.
I could see the double gauge rate being a double edged sword in a bunch of ways, that obnoxious dodge quirk chief among them lol.

It bugs me how Aqua's the most acrobatic-like of the Keybladers, but she's the slowest :/ Then again, it's kinda physically impossible to be fast and do those flips at the same time.
It took so long beating this guy on Standard Mode, and you're doing Critical? o_O
Do you have any idea who the Mysterious Figure really is though?
1:34 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You think Aqua would be dizzy from all those cartwheels by now xD 10/5 difficulty is saying something
@KylerWyler when you win, yes.
Inb4NoHeart. Anyway, good fight. D:
no commands still potentially triggers clones
It's the younger Xehanort. KH3D more than confirms it.
Does anyone have any theories as to who this guy is? Please reply.
this Boss is pure Luck. I beat him with Terra. now trying with Aqua but in the second Phase he kills me with his death spell. After get caught 3 Times spamming X as fast as u can it doenst matter he kills you....
@Thesleepyninja I said USUALLY. You're telling me stuff i already know.......
How do you get to this boss
Beat the game-final story, beat the lingering spirit with anyone, return to land of departure. The lv. should be 13~
Lingering spirit. You mean vanitas's spirit at the graveyard? Fred V
TarBuzzerCaesar yeah. MF is the last boss in the game technically. Although 1 person beating LS unlocks MF for everyone.
Ok. Thanks! Cant wait for the battle. I already beat vanitas's spirit a long time ago, with ven. Fred V
That keyblade, how did you get it? By completing the arena? Fred V
I Think If Someone Finds Out Who's Weapon That Is i Think We Know Who It Is
hehe he is a main character.....
kinda, yeah.
Damn you weren't that far from beating him without taking damage.
Spoilers: Mysterious Figure = Young Xehanort
dude if you think this one is hard try no heart man e broke my thumbs trying to dodge him and i finished the game lvl 80 and owned MF no commands but i donno how to make vids so can you tell me how
I think she just yells "HIYAH"
Doom?
aqua looks good period :)
Second one is right! : D
Now try this without DODGE spamming, there is a challenge!
And I know you can destroy those clones but DAMN THEM TO HELL
Mega flare lul
*SPOILERS* And it turns out that theory #2 is true. :P
i still wonder what is the use for the freaking HD as the quality is the same
ya wanna know what the ultimate strategy is
DON'T TAKE THE FIGHT
Just you.
OH MY GOD I HEARD TERRA TOO SHE DOES YELL TERRA
You uploaded this vid just when I got raped with Terra at the first millisecond the battle started.
Anyway, nice attempt.
@skyjlv You try it. xDD I DARE YOU
*SPOILER ALERT*
This guy blurs the line between legitimate challenge and cheap ass cheating piece of crap. I used the Surge method with Ven and Void Gear. Its absolutely crazy how luck is required in this fight. I KNOW WHO THAT IS THATS ANSEM
Joaquin stupid that's young xehanort
LIAR KINGDOM HEARTS 3D DUH OLD MAN THATS ANSEM
