    Beautiful video. May I ask why you join the first parts at an angle and the outer parts square? Or did I interpreted it wrong?

      You're right. The goal here is to achieve the 'keystone effect'. It makes the top plate stronger and allows it to be thinner.

    May I ask what goes into the steam bath? You seem to be adding something from a bottle.
    Or is it just water?

    Really strange way to construct top... I need to know more about violas da gamba and those historical period.
    Nevertheless, screws in the top makes me cringe )

      It is possible to make it without the screws. It involves a different setup and some more clamps.
