why is violence and cruelty to animals so important to these people ? whats wrong with them ? low self-esteem presumably.

I can understand to some extent were their coming from being born in the foot hills of Appalachia, but that being said you have got to grow up sometime and think is it really worth it. I know these guys would tell me I'm full of shit and that's probably true too some extent, but take a step back and say to yourself every time you go toe to toe with someone that could be the last time your eyes are ever open and I think to myself how hard that most be on the family's involved. I mean what the fuck! There are people dieing all over the world from things beyond their control and this shit is how you want to be remembered. You dont understand, aside from the fact that it's the way they were taught, and not all that they pass on, its a cultural thing and not just about fighting. Gypsies have been targeted and demonized as long as theyve existed, and its about instilling in your children a sense of pride in your heritage and standing up for yourself and your culture. They just happen to value boxing more than any other culture does. Also, fightings used, in a sense, as a methaphor for life, as far as standing up for yourself, being fair, not kicking a person while theyre down, etc.
A real man fights for his country and makes peace with his country-man.
