It’s very informative, yet not completely overwhelmed with too such statistics. I can follow your opinions very easily and get the key points about how good this ship actually is. The history guide and the awesome gameplay in the background are also really good, and with proper German names of all the shells, this review looks and sounds professional. I can really see your videos keeps improving over time yet your passion on making them not degrading at all. That is a really well done job. Thank you sir for single-handedly making naval in war thunder, better.
*THIS is what I consider a Review!* The AP Über Pen demonstration in the gameplay begins at 16:30 - it was a smooth 14 kill execution of the enemy team. Most kills were at 8 km +, some at 11 km!
A thing for the bow armor, is that most shells have 9m fuse delay after hitting armor that can fuse it, the bow of the hipper is way more than 9m (you can use the gun barrels for measuring unit since 203mm x 60mm = 12180 mm which is 12m approx, you get 3 barrels, so around 36m of bow) so the shells will most likely explode before hitting the 80mm plate no matter what APHEBC wonders

Play the naval ec mode this weekend. With just the leningrad event ship and reserve g5 I got between 20-45k rp yesterday per match. It's easy to rack up kills as long as you learn how to dodge the japan torp spam.
@@TheAngelobarker or be like me, incapable of playing naval cause I hit a MTBseries with a Flak 88 on the Flak Barge and the round bounced off it. I think it's just my luck in battles to be honest cause same bullshit applies to Air RB and Tank RB

So, for American 8 in cruiser. There are 2 type. Pre New Orleans and New Orleans and up. Pre New Orleans one is basically Furutaka with more guns, and a little bit more AAA and secondary. New Orleans and up is basically Brooklyn with 8 in. Armor layout is exactly the same, with belt upgrade to 150, deck upgrade to 60, turret face upgrade to 200, and secondary upgrade to 5in/38 Atlanta type mount. British 8 in cruiser is disaster, 89 vertical hull. Unless gayjiggle pull see magic, Brits is done for. Oh, their shell is basically Mogami with more boom and slower.
Napalm would you look at Heli EC and maybe record some video highlighting what is broken about helicopters in general and what can be done? I feel like gaijin listens and you helped make naval better.
Wake me up when Gaijin reverts the secret ammo rack hp nerf and heavy/light cruisers won't auto explode anymore after taking just a few hits. I tried grinding with the stock HE but theres just nothing fun about getting constantly one shotted right after spawning while my shots land all over the place and do piss poor damage
I can't imagine what will the gaijin add to the high tier BB, HAC or CL in the future, soviet & germany are lack of high br HAC & CL & BB. But there are many DD and post war CL for the line. I think they will change the tech tree and naval RB battle mode in the future.
Thing is, the Bismarck class will be top tier for Germans unless the include any of the H series, which they probably won't, thing is, it'll have to fight Iowa and Yamato which won't allow the Bismarck to truly shine

It depends on the target and its bearing. Vs other PT boats in general HE on 20s and 37s. If enemy has Armour (sov armored river PT boats with big guns) switch to AP and destroy middle section before they can angle. Destroy enemy guns with AP on targets that can soak up damage (big ships with lots of compartments/crew). Mixed belts are not that bad at all. Different situations require different tactics and ammo choice which you learn by playing and watching my vids. I made a lot of PT vids, look em up :)

@@_the_wolff_2652 PhlyDaily, HowToPlay1337 and a lot of other people have reviews and tips, naval is a kind of new mode still though, but well worth it if you enjoy playing WT. I Play mostly Germany and the US, but tbh I'm not a fan of the S-boot series, try using the heaviest gun on your boat though, if you have a 40mm use that instead of 2x 20mm's etc, the USN, RN and Soviets arguably have some more lethal boats, but Germany still does the job if you play smart. Especially in the air in naval mode, lots of good bombers and strike aircraft.
Naval battles are still broken - maps, modes and mechanics. I see no fun in exploding enemies in one shot and being exploded in few seconds after this regardless of ship name or size.
You get oneshot if you screw up your positioning when facing the wrong ship. Same as with tanks. It is a low lever pleb filter but it is one nonetheless. Bother to learn the vehicles you are playing and you will not see this as a problem because even if it happens, you know full well how you fucked up.
I could puke if I hear that commentator complaining about "efficiency" -🤮- thats a very anglo way of seeing a ship as something it isnt so as some kind of mass produced tank or plane which is deployed in large numbers. That "efficiency" is just a non existant/ wrong word in warship terms, its like judgeing the crumple zone of a car with the fuel consumption. Because the bad "efficiency" of many German navy WW2 ships is nothing else then a kind of crumple zone if you will (so a aditional room seperator here, a smaller ammo storage there, some empty spot between something, a redundant something at some spot etc.) and adds massively to the survivability of the ship and can make a huge difference in combat.

But the Admiral Hipper class is a big ship and not some kind of speedboat after all. I am not realy into ships but I am sure my definition of "not realy into" still makes up for about the knowledge of an armchair historian in that field.
@@Napalmratte Nein wirklich, google mal wie zäh die Bismark war (sie wurde von der Besatzung selbst versenkt weil sie zwar den Kampf im Grunde verloren hatte und aus der Nummer nicht mehr raus kam aber einfach nicht untergehen wollte) und dann schau dir die Iowa Klasse an also drei Kanonen in einem winzigen, mäßig gepanzerten Turm, bis oben hin voll mit Treiblandungen... Das ist dann "Effizenz" und weil die Amis gegen die Japaner schon anderweitig durch Luftangriffe, Radar usw. die Oberhand hatten und es so kaum zu ebenbürtigen Konfrontationen kam wird diese Philosophie einfach nicht hinterfragt. Tatsache ist das bei deren "effizienten" Trägern ein einziges Japsen Bömbchen (gut plaziert durch einen Kamikaze Pilot) gereicht hat wohingegen die etwas weniger "effizienten" britischen Träger diese Angriffe ohne größere Schäden überlebt haben. Am Ende ist ein schwimmender Träger wohl doch "effizienter" als ein abgesoffener.

Die ganze Thematik kann man nicht auf einmal erklären aber zum Schluss noch 2 Sachen zur Bismarck. Das Schiff war einfach so ein unnötig fetter Brocken, daß die reine Größe Schaden fressen konnte ohne Ende und dafür war aber relativ wenig Bewaffnung an Bord (Kaliber und Anzahl Rohre) und egal was man über deutsche Technik sagen mag, aber die Kabel der Feuerleitanlage nicht zu schützen ist einfach dumm... Ich bin ein Fan deutscher Schiffe, Panzer, Flieger aber die waren auch nicht perfekt und es gab immer viel Raum für Verbesserungen. Das is so und das "deutsche" muss sich immer wieder beweisen! Nur weil was deutsch ist, heißt es noch lange nicht, daß es per se das Beste ist :)
@@Napalmratte Es geht meiner Fraktion einfach darum das ein Schiff kein one-way Mobil ist was einfach zu ersetzen wäre sondern eine Art Bunker welcher was aushalten muss. Das US Design hat in keinem Fall seine Berechtigung und zeugt seinerseits von mangelner Erfahrung im auf-die-Fresse-kriegen der Amerikaner, ich kenn mich in den Details jetzt nicht aus aber das Turmdesign der Iowa Klasse ist grundsätzlich einfach ungeeignet für ein Schlachtschiff. Das die Bismark ihre Schwächen hatte ist klar, sie sollte bezüglich Flak ja auch noch nachgerüstet werden aber die grundsätzliche Auslegung war vollkommen richtig. Edit: es kann nicht sein das ein so fettes Schiff wie Flugzeugträger durch einen einzigen, nicht mal glücklichen, Bombentreffer einer 0815 Bombe eher kleineren Kalibers untergeht. Es kann immer sein das mal ein paar Gegner oder gegnerische Geschosse den Träger treffen, einfach zu sagen "er ist dafür nicht ausgelegt" ist einfach nur dumm und realitätsfern. Das ist wie beim Panzer das Turm MG wegzulassen weil er ja nicht gegen Infanterie kämpfen soll.

I like the new maps. Ships are more spaced out, making Fritz X bombs more effective due to less concentrated AA fire
Did they fix the Ai heavy AA fire-range? Normally being at 2600m altitude kept you pretty safe
@@aserkill6096 From me seeing Iron play, no, the AA still fires and kills beyond 4500m. even at 5500m he was killed by a ship in a HE177

IMO Hipper is by far the best ship I have experienced. Its even better than the Spee.

Well its always better to have too much. Always shoot twice and make sure they are dead especially toward planes

They once were but then things happend
German cruisers aren't op. They just don't have a bad cruiser like omaha etc. Against a Brooklyn or kirov they tend to pop rather quickly.

2) Philosophie und warscheinliche Szenarien/Gegner -> US Pazifik Flotte vs Japan hatte eine ganz andere Größenordnung im Einsatzgebiet, Wetterlage, Kampfentfernung wo die "all or nothing" Design Philosophie im BB Bau Sinn gemacht hat (BB vs BB) aber die deutschen Schiffe hätten auch in günstigen Fällen sich mit Horden Kleinerer Schiffe rumschlagen müssen (Flottengefecht oder Konvoi-Sicherungsgruppe) wo die "distributed armour sceme" auch seine Berechtigung hatte...
Die ganze Thematik kann man nicht auf einmal erklären aber zum Schluss noch 2 Sachen zur Bismarck.
Das Schiff war einfach so ein unnötig fetter Brocken, daß die reine Größe Schaden fressen konnte ohne Ende und dafür war aber relativ wenig Bewaffnung an Bord (Kaliber und Anzahl Rohre) und egal was man über deutsche Technik sagen mag, aber die Kabel der Feuerleitanlage nicht zu schützen ist einfach dumm...
Ich bin ein Fan deutscher Schiffe, Panzer, Flieger aber die waren auch nicht perfekt und es gab immer viel Raum für Verbesserungen.
Das is so und das "deutsche" muss sich immer wieder beweisen!
Nur weil was deutsch ist, heißt es noch lange nicht, daß es per se das Beste ist :)
@@Napalmratte Es geht meiner Fraktion einfach darum das ein Schiff kein one-way Mobil ist was einfach zu ersetzen wäre sondern eine Art Bunker welcher was aushalten muss.
Das US Design hat in keinem Fall seine Berechtigung und zeugt seinerseits von mangelner Erfahrung im auf-die-Fresse-kriegen der Amerikaner, ich kenn mich in den Details jetzt nicht aus aber das Turmdesign der Iowa Klasse ist grundsätzlich einfach ungeeignet für ein Schlachtschiff.
Das die Bismark ihre Schwächen hatte ist klar, sie sollte bezüglich Flak ja auch noch nachgerüstet werden aber die grundsätzliche Auslegung war vollkommen richtig.
Edit: es kann nicht sein das ein so fettes Schiff wie Flugzeugträger durch einen einzigen, nicht mal glücklichen, Bombentreffer einer 0815 Bombe eher kleineren Kalibers untergeht.
Es kann immer sein das mal ein paar Gegner oder gegnerische Geschosse den Träger treffen, einfach zu sagen "er ist dafür nicht ausgelegt" ist einfach nur dumm und realitätsfern.
Das ist wie beim Panzer das Turm MG wegzulassen weil er ja nicht gegen Infanterie kämpfen soll.
