I found copies of 'The Colour Out of Space' and 'The Dunwich Horror and Others' in my grade school library and was hooked. Many years later, some friends did staged productions of 'The Outsider', 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth' and 'The Thing on the Doorstep', where I was in the latter two. It was part of a collection of adapted short stories called 'Hogtown Horrors', since it was in Gainesville, Florida and Hogtown is it's nickname. We also did 'The Damned Thing', 'The Raven' and 'The Tell-Tale Heart', among others, all on a $200 dollar budget. Even in 1998 when we did this, that wasn't much. So 'The Damned Thing' was perfect because an invisible monster fit right into the budget. Even though I wasn't on stage much, it didn't matter. Seeing something I loved so much being brought to life by amazingly talented actors was one of the best experiences of my life. Seeing anyone who has that love for Lovecraft makes me happy. Please keep doing what you're doing. I also like your cultural commentary. Definitely don't stop with that. :)

I love cosmic horror and really want to love Lovecraft, but that purple prose is ridiculous. So much nonsense. There's a story in there, somewhere, smothered by all that crap.
