- “I’m 40…. FUCK!” -is what was meant to be recorded at the beginning of this performance, recorded just a day after my 40th birthday. This original version of “I am What I am” is known for being performed by such greats as Dame Shirley Bassey, and John Barrowman MBE. But it’s originally from the musical “La Cage Aux Folles”.
Unfortunately I couldn’t quite keep up with the tempo changes, hence why I missed that “Your life is a sham” line.
But hopefully, someone will keep a copy of this for posterity. I’d certainly like it played at my funeral 🥲
