JP has a beautiful voice and is a much underrated actor. Too many people associate him with Eastenders, but he is a terrific stage actor. For those who don't know , he was in Cats the musical and I saw him on stage in Chicago, he is very talented.
Saw this twice with John. We were in the front row both times, he was absolutely incredible in the roll. He played up to my husband in the cabaret scene, so funny, and he gave us a nod at the end. Just played this again and I was in tears.
Known for being in EASTENDERS. but we all forget this amazing man started in musical theatre. From Taboo etc. Loved john in that show. But in la cage!! Just incredible ❤❤❤❤ it was an honour being in the theatre ❤❤❤
I remember seeing this production in Cardiff. OMG what a production! John was so joyously funny, but also tear jerking. What an amazing actor and singer ❤ One of the best production's I have ever seen ❤❤
@hefinrosser8685-Wish I could have seen it. I've wanted to see La Cage Aux Folles ever since seeing the movie The Birdcage that was based on the same story as La Cage. I was lucky enough to see John Partridge play the Emcee during the most recent UK tour of Cabaret & he was incredible. There was a moment at the end of act one, were he's singing Tomorrow Belongs To Me that gave me goosebumps.
Was lucky enough to see this and meet John who is so lovely.. So incredibly talented.. his voice gives me goosebumps.. he’s an incredible dancer too & actor, & now cook too.. talk about multi-talented! Saw him as Emcee in ‘Cabaret’ too earlier this year just before lockdown, & he was brilliant.. will always have a soft spot for his performance in ‘La Cage’, incredible ❤️ him!!
Johnny's voice is just i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e! Saw the show a couple of weeks ago in Oxford - It's amazing! Five more venues booked for this UK tour... Can't wait for my next visit! :) x
MsBorok one thing is for sure. no matter our lot in life, it remains a complete truth that life ain't worth a damn till you can say I am what I am. (if someone doesn't like it ---...!!!&%!
I went to the show last night, in Norwich. Such a wonderful experience, the glamour, the vocals, the dancers, the stage setting, the fun! John Partridge, thank you!
I Saw this show at the Lowry theatre. Salford. I Love the theatre and can honestly say that this is the best, the very best musical I have seen. Everyone who took part was fantastic. John partridge was truly amazing and had the theatre audience in the palm of his hand. This production gave so much, comedy, music, dancing, singing and a great story line which was underlined with pathos to bring a tear to ones eye. Also an enlightening message to the critics in life who cannot sanction a certain way of life. It was so entertaining and encouraged audience participation throughout which had the whole theatre singing, cheering and clapping. A truly wonderful, amazing experience. I will go and see it again. Thanks to all the actors who worked so very hard to bring so much pleasure.
Saw the show last Friday in Norwich.....AMAZING ! Every one in the cast were brilliant, not one weak link. John Partridge, what can I say. There was a standing ovation long before the last reprise.I go to the theatre a lot, but I can say this is THE best I have ever seen, go and see it folks xxxx
It's a powerful rendition of a song that says that you have to stand up for who you are and for the truth, no matter what lies, deceptions and oppressions you may have found yourself up against.
Seen this at the Bord Gais theatre, Dublin. Absolutely magnificent performances from all cast but especially John Partridge who was stunning . He put his heart and soul into each performance, one of the best shows I have ever seen.
Saw the show in Manchester last night. It was bloody brilliant. Emotional and funny. John was exceptional but all the cast made it the show that it was! Thanks !
Walter Charles would be proud. I have been LOOKING for a performance that could measure up to his original performance, and your is so real and passionate thank you for bringing your soul into this performance.
If you get a chance go see this on tour. You will laugh, cry and be totally uplifted. Standing ovation after John sang I Am What I Am to close Act 1. You don't see that in Glasgow often. On the surface a musical comedy, but look a little deeper and there is the biggest heart. Fabulous show
thanks to him my musical life started with the musical Cats on VCR tape thank you so much Jhon for what you did! I would not be who I am today if it was not for you!
Just watched the tour at Blackpool. Wow! what a fabulous show. Well done cast and crew. Set, lights, costumes, wigs and props all deserve a mention. Top class performances by everyone. Loved it!
absolutely amazing we saw it at leeds grand theater. John partridge was brilliant I would definitely recommend to go see it fabulous. John partridge is a credit to the musical.
Dear John ....I have just witnessed the most amazing response and ovation to you and the cast of LCAF at the New Theatre, Cardiff! 04/02/17 matinee! I was introducing my 20 year old niece to the show, the age I was when I first saw it at the Palladium, in the mid 1980's, with the amazing George Hearn and Dennis Quilley and I soooo wanted it to be a case of history repeating itself and Sara (niece) loving it as much as me! I can tell you that you didn't disappoint! Far from it! This production is phenomenal and you, the lovely and gorgeous John Partridge, are a tour de force in this role (Loved you in everything that you've done mind! Billy Flynn, Zach...) But my God, you've nailed this role and good luck to any revivalists in the future....no one will ver be a patch on you, lovely boy (to be read in a Swansea accent please!) THIS IS YOURS!! xxxx Helen
Don't be afraid to be yourself be free come into the light be what you are meant to be everyday and that is happy.. Live life love and as long as you harm no one be yourself everyday.. We have come so far don't be afraid to live and do so with pride..
I think this is a wonderful interpretation. The only vocal flaws are at 1:42 and 2:41 where the vibrato is not right and intrusive (sounds like a motor having trouble starting). Pity!
I hate to be the one to criticize this, but it seems like they’re embellishing it too much. The phrasing is too jumbled and off, and there’s too much flair. Almost like it’s trying to be happier. Remember that this song is about getting mad that your son won’t allow you to be part of his new life.
He's no Fierstein, but still ok for off, ...way WAY OFFFF Broadway. Like maybe Fargo North Dakota !!.; the make-up needs a great great deal of rework. .. just re-design the whole look !
he was so good as the rum tum tugger
he was downright sexy and hot as Rum tum tugger!
He is the best Rum Tum Tugger ever.

He was also very good as Electra in Starlight Express.

Beautiful, important and very,very good.
Wow. Perhaps the very best version of this iconic song I have seen (the yellow dress excepted).
Known for being in EASTENDERS. but we all forget this amazing man started in musical theatre. From Taboo etc. Loved john in that show. But in la cage!! Just incredible ❤❤❤❤ it was an honour being in the theatre ❤❤❤

Zelmira It sounds a lot better on stage.
OMG. Anyone else notice how dusty it is in here? I seem to have something in my eye.

Is it just me or are there moments I can hear and see him portraying David Bowie?? Maybe just me haha
That would be amazing

Not that deep dude
Great singer but to much vibrato ❤
