Hard luck Dean, the heartache is reel. From the bait and fight I would venture one of the following four culprits: a big 80kg+ diamond, but they are not usually that full of beans, a stray honeycomb ray of 60kg plus might fit the fight profile, a thorntail, spearnose and round ribbon tail could be candidates, but they are not that common your area. I am putting my money on a 80kg+ black/ short tail ray. They have the nasty habit of coming in tail first, stubborn as hell and the tail and spike often wears through most leaders more often. Hope you manage to land that donkey next time.
