    Very thorough review. 👍
I bought the 8+3 port model back in February, having never heard of YuanLey before.
Price was right, and haven't had any problems.
Running just 5 Amcrest cameras on a home network. Mix of 4K and lower.

I love your distance tests. You spoke from facts observed with your own senses. You tested it. I'm so tired of people that only repeat what they have heard from other people, and they throw those untested unverified opinions around as if they are tested proven fact. Thank you for some true intelligence.

I glad you liked the video and things for the kind words. Yes, I want to share my actual learnings and show my results in real-life situations. I like to test and demonstrate all the features so people know exactly what to expect when they buy something, especially if they are not technical.

@@HomeTechDIY Not technical, that's me. Can you point me in the right direction? I'm getting blue iris, buying ip Poe cameras, buying a poe switch. I'm assuming I must buy a router like this www.amazon.com/SafeStream-TL-R600VPN-Broadband-throughput-Concurrent/product-reviews/B007B60SCG/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_show_all?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&pageNumber=1
to connect to my modem that is also Wi-Fi, so I can connect Ethernet to the POE switch and make some sort of home network to get the camera feed into my PC and into blue iris. Do I have this right?
And how hard is it to connect the new router to the modem, and connect the router to the poe switch and configure all the ip addresses and settings correctly? Can you point me into the areas, pages/subjects/channels I need to research, so I can learn how to navigate my way through these unknowns? Please. Because at this point, it looks pretty overwhelming to me.
But I trust in my determination and ability to learn anything useful to know. But with a few wise words of advice from some genius like you, you can save me days of headache.
Thanks buddy. I love your channel. Fu*k those spiders and bullet cameras. Your words of wisdom steered me straight to domes and saved me a bunch of headache having to learn some things the hard way. I live in Florida and spiders overwhelming here in abundance.
Or does the poe switch hook to my computer and a router is not necessary?
Or does the poe switch send the camera signals back to the router, which sends them to the modem, which sends them wifi to my pc?
I'm pretty sure there is some important detail here I don't understand yet.

I have essentially the same switch except it has two RG-45 uplink ports (no fiber optic port) and the extend switch settings are Normal and Extended (for cable length) vice the isolation setting you had. It is $30 from Amazon (August 2019). I too have had excellent results with this switch.

Hello sir, did I understand you correctly when you were talking about the Poe switch and that there are some out there that have a “boost” setting that would allow me to put cameras out further than the recommended 320ft?

Not this switch but YuanLey does sell switches with that feature.

Thank you for this video. I've decided to buy this unit, thanks to the video. It's hard to know which manufacturers to trust with so many new names. I never heard of this name, but this unit is satisfying people, so that's good.

I think you answered this in your video--- but I want to make sure I under stand. I have a 6 acre farm. I built a man cave (small house) about 400 foot from my main house. I would like to be able to stream TH-cam TV out to the small house. I have the standard Comcast residential router.
I do not know much about POE--- but your video made it sound like it might be able to boost the signal from my Comcast Router to go the 400 foot using a YuanLey PoE Switch Can I then plug the 400 foot network cable in the small house to a normal wireless router to have a strong wireless signal in the small house?

Hey! PoE is used for security cameras or any powered network device. A PoE switch will not help boost your signal. This PoE switch does push it's network signal pretty far and has a feature for long distances. Your Camcast router might be able to push at a comparable distance. I would give that a try first. Most routers and switches are good for a minimum of 328ft. If your Camcast router is unsuccessful, then try adding a strong switch, like this one. Hope this helps.

Sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you knew why my jidetech ptz camera only shows up on my amcrest nvr when I put the ptz camera on a poe switch that is connected to the router while the nvr is also connected to the router? I thought since the ptz camera was poe and the nvr I brought was poe ethernet that all I would need to do is just plug it straight to the nvr but it can't find it that way for some reason? the ptz camera is a ip camera which i believe means its wired only, sorry I'm really new to doing this!

Is there any chance to access every single port through a seperate vlan id? Or is this only a fake vlan?

Thanks for the informative review. Are you aware of a Switch that delivers 12V through PoE so that older IP Cameras without negotiating capacity could be connected directly to it without blowing them up?

Great video, I learned a lot.
Question, if I'm going to piece together a security system...how do you manage recording your security video? Also, what security software do you use to manage motion and notifications if any?
    Thank you in advance!
