Michael Wilcox as they delve into Doctrine and Covenants 64 and discuss forgiveness. What did the Lord have to say about forgiveness and mercy to the early saints? Brother Wilcox teaches that a key to forgiving is to celebrate the good and forgive everything else--hatred can end only through love.

My heart is full. Thank you, Brother Wilcox for your global view of the goodness on this earth. My vision has been expanding to include other religions who are contributing our purposes to bring forth Zion. I am now expanding it even further to poets, playwrights, musicians, and all those who have brought good to this earth. Thank you for your insights and examples. Thank you for all the good you are doing for the world. Drop by drop. Thank you, John and Hank for having this most beautiful forum and introducing me to the wonderful Latter-day scholars and teachers in the church. It is inspiring and eye-opening. May God bless you all!

Our family loves this good man so much. My brother really struggled in High School, Bro Wilcox was his seminary teacher. My mom still credits him with saving my brother. (Its been like 45 years). I had him for Institute at the U of U many years later and he still remembered us. If you talk to him, tell him the Elsberrys (Elsberries, lol?) still love him to the moon.

I had him as a teacher at the U Institute too! He's always fantastic!
I was going through a hard time and can't remember exactly what was taught (and man, do I wish I could remember). I just remember he was (is) brilliant!
Last year I watched and searched for his talks si that I could listen to him.

Incredible! What beautiful insights and depth of feeling came through these podcasts. I remember finding a world religions book BYU put out for their religions of the world class and feeling similar things, of how good and how gracious God has been to urge all people everywhere to become better. This has prepared their hearts and minds for today when the gospel can be received all over the world. Let us never undermine or belittle the inspired people from all faiths throughout history who sacrificed and were persecuted to bring more good into the world.

I've been listening to all of the episode's that you guys have put together. I'm ALWAYS edified! Your testimonies, personalities, and knowledge comes together beautifully! Every guest has given unique perspectives! I loved Dr. Wilcox's definition of "the fullness of times" and all the good that has come out of every time/place/language/mode of expression which becomes part of the "fullness" of our times. I have lived in Moscow and Cairo and I appreciate Dr. Wilcox's emphasis on the good that can be found in Islam and the Russian Orthodox church and other religions. I'm a huge fan of Dostoyevsky, "the Russian prophet." Thank you for highlighting his testimony of Jesus in the discussion! The epitath inscribed on Dostoyevsky's tombstone is John 12:24 ..."Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." Thank you for sharing his fruit (somehow tasted like sweet and memorable onions!)

I so appreciate the reference to Alyosha and The Brothers Karamazov. The finest piece of Russian literature ever produced. Dostoevsky was definitely influenced by the Spirit and was a very prophetic writer. Many of his works warned of creeping Marxism, but his truly powerful ideas were those focused on Christ.

All through this brilliant episode I've been trying to remember why the name of S Michael Wilcox is so familiar to me...finally I realised when his book Fire in the Bones was mentioned 😁 I read that book 3 years ago, it was fantastic!! I've always loved the Tudor period, and to have that part of it illuminated so...so, 'feelingly'...excitingly, was wonderful. Thank you for that, and thank you for yet another wonderful, wonderful episode. I am learning so much 😊

Wonderful. I've stopped saying I know the church is true- what does that phrase even really mean? I believe the church is good and encourages me to be good. It's members are trying to be good and do good in the world around them. I'm so grateful for the mercy and forgiveness of my Saviour and my Heavenly Father. Thank you.

Re. Michael Wilcox and the "gift of religion" at 44:34. I agree there are charismatic figures in history. But those who have the ability to convey religion to others on a high level do have this "gift of religion". Joseph Smith Jr. was one of those people.

I love listening to Michael Wilcox and have read/listened to almost all his books and tapes. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but I don't get why he brought in Buddha and Mohamad and equating their works with Joseph's works with the restoration of the gospel. I agree that God speaks to all nations, but are they really on the same level?

@@alethajolley3925 Thank you for your feedback. We love getting feedback! Yes, there are different dynamics with every guest. We also get feedback saying Hank and John talk too much, ha ha, but we do our best to follow the flow and Spirit on each podcast. If you want more of an interactive discussion, you will love this next weeks' podcast with Brad Wilcox! Hank, John and Brad are long-time friends and we can't wait to share the podcast on Friday!
