I bought the 97D and strung it with Head Lynx Tour 1.30mm champagne string. Would it make a difference if I used 1.25mm instead, or do the gauges not affect playability that much? Would 49 pounds be a good tension?
I would personally not string this racket with 1.30. I stick to 1.25 and below for anything that’s an 18x20. 49lbs is a great tension for this one though.
What's your opinion about Percept 97D vs ezone98 tour? Which one did you like the most? Similar swingweight, but percept should give better feel and less spin I guess. I've tried the 97H, it was really nice, good on the serve and one handed backhand, but felt a bit slow to swing on the forehand on high balls, though I currently play with a 335g racket (Tecnifibre TF335), so it should be similar. So I'm musing on the ezone98 tour or the Percept 97D.
They’re both good rackets. I preferred the Ezone Tour. I guess the choice comes down to do you want elite power with some spin in the Ezone or elite control with some feel in the Percept.
Hi, really enjoyed the contents that you've been putting up. Keep up the good work. Just to get a quick opinion. If Im currently on Pro Staff 97 v14, and has got no issues with the racquet except that the swingweight may be a bit high to last long sessions; would the Percept 97 or 97D be a better fit? I leaning towards the 97 but is afraid that it would be too light of a swingweight then. Thanks in advance.
I have not played with the V14 pro staff yet, but I do have one waiting for me to string up and test. Do you know what the swingweight of your pro staff is? I was shocked to find that my unstrung swingweight was 281 which is about 311 strung and that’s 20 points lower than what TW lists! It’s the same SW as the Percept 97 I just tested… and that was too light for a control oriented frame in my opinion.
Nope. I've got no idea what's the swingweight on my Pro Staff. Prior to Pro Staff, I was on Radical MP, therefore the Pro Staff definitely feels "more weight". But i really really surprised that the swingweight has such a huge difference between the actual racquet and the published stats in TW. 🤔 issues with quality control from Wilson?
How does it compare to the current Vcore 95? I found that racquet to lack control sadly and have tried to play more with the Radical MP 2023. How would these compare?
The Vcore 89! I think that this racket is your best option within the current Yonex line. It would require an adjustment and you may miss some aspects of the 89 at first but if you stick with it I think it’d be a good long term decision.
97d vs 97 I am confused about those two sticks you have said 97 is too light so i will go with 97d but I am afraid it’s 320 gm might be heavy so what the difference between 97d and speed pro and pro staff v13 as last two raquets I can handle them no problem with maneuverability ?
The 97d will probably be perfect for you because 97 is a little light. And the 97h may be a little on the heavy side, which weighs in at 330 grams. I'm going to give the 97d a try myself.
The 97D is the least forgiving and heaviest feeling of the rackets you mentioned. I think the regular 97 with a little lead tape is the best option for most people
Looking forward to your review on the 100D!
😬
That quality control is brilliant 😮
Not bad!

Looks like it! I may get my hands on a few more to investigate further.
Interested to see how this compares to the 97

Just watched, which racket is better in your opinion? What score out of 10 would you give both?
@@TomSmith-il6pz In stock form I’d take the 97D. It’s a solid 9/10.
@@simmstennisin stock form, vcore 95 2023 or 97D?

It is more controlled than the 95 but gives less spin and less power. The Radical is a more player friendly racket than the 97D.
I play for more than 8 years with a Vcore 89. Would the new 97D be a good alternative? Or would I loose some control? Thx!

@@simmstennis Actually I don’t like to customize my racket with lead tape I will try 97d I hope not be disappointed
@@MohamedAhmed-th8kl I get that. The 97D is a fantastic racket if you like to hit flat!
Completely different from vcore 97d? Or change paintjob only ?their shape look the same
The feel and response are slightly different. It feels a little more crisp.
Which do you prefer, Percept 97D or Ezone 98 Tour?
Ezone Tour
How does it compare to the Vcore Pro 97D?
It’s very similar but just has more of a crisp response
