I think RM said that the harmonies are VERY difficult to sing live so they never performed this on stage. it's probably the #1 song ARMYs want to see live

Jungkook refused to sing it during one of his lives saying it was too high. I wish they would sing it live, and who knows it might happen one day. But it seems to be their hardest song. Great reaction as always.
Which is just so interesting because he’s hit notes like this before. I think it’s just a difficult song for everyone and then the harmonies etc would be just more difficult

The notes aren't hard for him or other members too. He probably refused because he didn't have done warmup for that song because normally he can sing other songs but when it comes to Actual Vocal based songs you require warmup so the varying notes becomes easy.It's difficult because this song has so many Vocal pitches, there are so many different variations to the vocals & there are so many background harmonies which can be difficult for them because lines are changing per person quickly. This song's chorus has high notes which is like rare case. Yet last chorus even get more complex because you have 2 Vocalist Jin & Jimin in their high notes section & then V & JK comes after that JM & JK comes then Jin comes back & forth continuously. This similar situation is with 'Your Eye Tell' which is also difficult for live performing. It's not like they can do high notes All 4 have incredible High Ranges it's nothing for them.This all is in my opinion.

I heard this song was prompted by some of the sometimes heart breaking personal stories ARMYs shared about their own pain and struggles and how BTS help them to survive. RM struggled and wept several times when trying to write it. The bond is real.
Fun fact, BTS was once asked what song do they think ARMY would like to hear from them live.

This song is so high for the vocalists that I can see how it would be difficult to sing in the middle or the end of a concert when their voices are getting tired. Also the amount of layering for the rap parts would be hard to replicate on stage.

They tell my story, my desperation, the feeling of being lost inside yourself, when sadness, hatred and anger takes over your thoughts and you don't see the light anymore. When I heard this song it felt like they know my story and they came to help overcome my depression. When RM tells "don't you give up your life, here I stay, pray for better days" ...I wish I could talk to RM and the boys and thank them for this masterpiece 💜💜💜

Weverse did a survey and then used the questions and our answers for a Run! episode. One of the questions asked what song we most wanted to see performed live. This song was the number 1 answer. That surprised the boys quite a bit, but they said that if we wanted to see it live that badly, then they would make it happen. I'm hoping that it will be one of the songs that they perform for us when they come back.
Also, if you read the lyrics carefully, it's a message from BTS to ARMY. They talk about the "strange shadow in that cheer" and "your silent sorrow shakes me". They're talking about the pain and sorrow that ARMYs are going through in their regular lives. Things that they can forget for a while when BTs is performing in front of them. They don't feel that they are really capable of giving ARMY strength, but they know that we believe that they can and do. So, they promise to be there for us. Especially since they "picked this game". And Suga says that if they don't do it, who will? So, they promise that they will never stop singing for us and that their singing will be "louder than bombs". To me, "bombs" can be taken in a couple of ways. The negative or destructive things that happen in our daily lives that they want to help us overcome, or the ARMY bombs, except those don't make any noise. Regardless, they still promise to be there for us and they are keeping that promise, even when they can't be active right now.
If they are not going to sing this live in a concert, I hope they would on a Tiny Desk live or Unplugged like setting. Anything as long as it's a live masterpiece.

I love BTS period, but I think this is my favorite of all their songs. It's my ringtone & it's the only reason I want calls. The first time I heard it, I couldn't pick my jaw up off the floor. In an episode of Run BTS, where they were trying to guess which song is ARMY's favorite, which performance is the most iconic, etc... the question was "Which song does ARMY want us to perform the most" and the vote was clearly in favor of Louder than bombs 😊 They were really surprised by this response and they promised us that one day they would do it live. Later, with the Busan concert, ARMY thought it would be on the setlist but it didn't happen so we're still waiting 😅

They know we want to listen to it live. It came 1st with a huge difference in a Big Hit's poll among armys worldwide. They were surprised, but promised they'll try to prepare it for a concert. So, I' m sure they'll find a way to overcome all this layering for a live performance that will satisfy them.
Louder than bombs are one of the most difficult song BTS ever made. It's technical difficulties and harmonizing is very difficult that they can't make it right with live performances. RM once said this song doing live performances is no joke, and it's absolutely true. This song harmonies part is on another level. If they ever do this song in live performances someday, army's dream will come true. And yes this song is very dark. This song is about their struggles, pains of their journey. Can you believe those lines, "Louder than bombs i break, Louder than bombs i sing, Louder than bombs i say". This song is so intense that its hits very hard. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜.

You make total sense. I LOVE this song. They put together sounds that create a picture and a feeling. You don't have to know the lyrics, even though they're great. The music itself takes you on a journey. They did say it would be difficult to perform live. I get that and I imagine the actual live version would be a little different... But, I really want to hear it. Just acoustic is fine. Whatever... LOL RM for me is often too aggressive but the texture of his voice in this song is amazing. One of my favorite parts.

So this song is a promise to ARMY to sing louder than bomb when they come back together again. That is why it is difficult to sing live emotionally. RM always said it was a struggle writing Black Swan, Louder Than Bombs and Bulletproof The Eternal for Map of The Soul. He said in a conference for the album that he’d often leave the studio crying working on these songs. They’re all really personal as they’re showing what they would consider the “weak” parts of themselves to their fans that rely on their music. All about their inner fears of losing their love for music.

This is such a special song. Probably my favorite BTS song out of all of them. The song isn't about an internal conflict, it's BTS seeing the sadness and pain beneath the cheers of ARMY. They're recognizing that so many of us have darkness in our daily lives and letting us know that they are aware of how much their music means to us, how it helps us through the darkness. They promise to keep singing for us, Rather than asking us to look at the brighter side, they'll be that beacon in the night for us and they'll sing for us endlessly. It's kind of a sister song to Bulletproof: Eternal. Bulletproof: Eternal talks about how much ARMY means to BTS. This song is the flip side, BTS commenting on their awareness of how much they mean to us. They know that ARMY will always be there for BTS and this song is their promise to always be there for us.
