Excellent video Phillip. My trainer turned up a few days ago.wont be able to set it up till Christmas Day. But your 2 hour video has really made things clearer. You didn’t touch much on the CG position but by the looks of the battery it fits very snug in the compartment. Oh and your a good laugh was a very enjoyable watch.
Hi! I got a used Apprentice STS, and I'm learning how to configure all its SAFE+ system and I don't have the Action Card for SAFE + GPS, I guess the previous owner lost it? Could you send it to me digitally?
I can't send it, since I don't have it, but you CAN get the whole manual from the links (like you were going to buy one) and even if the plane is currently DISCONTINUED, you can click "SHOW DISCONTINUED" and see what you need by clicking on the plane, then scrolling down to the "PARTS AND SUPPORT" bprc.me/Apprentice - then scroll down to "PARTS AND SUPPORT"
That was a great video. How did you get your wife not to wave the camera around and get you sea sick when you rewatch. Very informative . I am a real pilot but just got my second RC plane at 56 years young. The apprentice STS. We wont talk about my first RC. Unfortunately it was before your videos or any internet at all. The video real helped get it together. Now time to go practice at the field with the guys that know what they’re doing. Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment, we're here for guys like you. I find it AMAZING that there's not more just like we do on TH-cam, but we just want to get people in the air, and even though you fly FULL scale, you might need some help getting your feet wet in RC - it is a very different experience, right!? ;) thanks for being here! Glad we could help some! When, and as you progress, please don't forget to watch and follow along. We'll help you as much as we can ;)
Interesting idea. Optera flies great, but I wouldn't ever recommend it as a beginner plane, since it's so easy to make a SMALL mistake, and end up in the OR or ER...or both if you really screw up.
Brian, I LOVE the video, I understand it may be more difficult but with extended videos like this could you consider time stamps for radio setup? Love the videos you always do an exceptional job showcasing each product.
Most feared words for a pilot: "I'm from the FAA & I'm here to help!" But, thanks to the FAA for General and Commercial aviation, they ARE there to help. Think about that when you start flying IFR in IMC. In the case of model aviation, however, you are correct since they chose not to separate fixed wing and helicopters from hobby and commercial "drones" , Those hobby drone idiots really freaked it up for everyone.
I'd love to see a video for the Flightline F8F-1 Bearcat. I was disappointed to see that out of the hundreds of videos on this channel there isn't one. I'm going to make it my first tail dragger and I love your unbox, build and radio setup videos.
Sorry, but MotionRC refuses to work with us. Hit them up and remind them that you want to see us review Flightline, Freeewing, and their other offerings. We'd sure love to work with them, and have been trying for the better part of half a decade to get them to start working with us.
Any tips on installing nav lights other than taping them? I was considering getting the E-flite - EFL71770 kit. Can you easily run the wires inside the wing, or inside the spar?

No flaps or Nav LEDs!?! hehehe... Such a great, informative video. Super entertaining, while I replace the 980mm P40 fuselage- don't ask. All good now, though. Thanks for all the hard work, cramming LOTS of info into these super short videos, guys!! 👍
Hey Brian, I love all of your videos regarding assembly but I have a question regarding my Apprentice STS. Do you offere the option to call someone who need some assistance?
Hi Brian! I'm just getting into RC flying and am seriously considering either the Apprentice STS 1.5 or the FMS Ranger 1.2 in the RTF format. I've watched your videos relating to these individual planes on your TH-cam channel and would really like your recommendation(s) as to which plane you would recommend to learn to fly. Thanks! ~Mike in Atlanta
The Ranger is EASIER to setup in the RTF configuration. The Apprentice STS 1.5 might be a slightly better overall flight experience. TOUGH CALL... If you like the 1.2m Ranger, you could then jump into a BNF for the Apprentice, saving a few bucks, and get into a computerized transmitter, like we use all the time, and you'll be miles ahead of the competition ;) bprc.me/Apprentice vs bprc.me/FMS_Ranger Sorry to give you a politician, "non-answer" but there isn't a right and wrong...but very preference driven here. Both are very good choices.
8 years ago I worked for granite construction which did road construction in FL I used to do GPS grading and it was only as accurate as how many satellites were over head and with Starlink being the predominant satellite GPS system not much to worry about!!! Yes it is Elon musks GPS but I am not worried!! Love you all and have a blessed day!!! Most of the old GPS are down!! Also why Google maps is more accurate!!!!!!
Everybody starts somewhere! Most people don't NEED a trainer once they are confident in their flying, but some people like to have a nice easy flight or a good "post crash" pick me up. ;)

Very Cool
Thanks! This Apprentice is a great plane, but it's been FOR-EVER since we' played with our older one.
I have the E-flight Opterra with SAFE and flies great for another trainer fleet.
Interesting idea. Optera flies great, but I wouldn't ever recommend it as a beginner plane, since it's so easy to make a SMALL mistake, and end up in the OR or ER...or both if you really screw up.

Oh no! I won't ask. ;)
You could always add them... we did it on our old S 15e!

Definitely. And by following one of your instructional videos, it’ll be (not so) quick and easy!! 👍😁👍
I never had a problem with a wheel like that, all three wheels were free and clear.

That compartment behind on top can hold GPS

Rc noobie here, what is the transmitter range for this aircraft? I have always had a phobia about going out of range.
How about screw on a new plastic clevis?
I'm interested in HOW you played your cards right!? And does she have a sister?? lol
She does, but she's already taken - good luck out there!
Where is the radio setup?
This is a RTF, so there really isn't much to setup. You can also watch another similar plane, that's NOT RTF if you need some help.
Imagine still needing a trainer 😂
