This was fascinating to see the history of your great grandfathers grain elevator and how your grandfather, your dad and you are preserving it Kate !!!!!!
Thank you again, this time for the very interesting historian "Antique Grain Elevator Tour". Your entusiasme to learn & teach us all are emazing and make us very happy.
Your a wonderful and caring and beautiful soul you don’t find many people like you especially your young age who have a passion for everything in life your family brought you up the way that people should be brought up and that you have very strong relationship with your family I enjoy every video and the history of places
I just love you kiddo. You make me smile all the time, but especially when you wave. It is just cuteness overload. Not sure how you are driving semis though. I was reading Montana law and you are not old enough to have a license. I know Wyoming, where I live, had a learners' permit that I used when I drove truck, but I was in my 20's.
You, my dear Kate, come from a long line of Incredible farmers. Geniuses level farmers! To create a 100 plus year of grain elevator like this, that has stood the test of time in Montana, expose to the Montana elements is truly amazing! Please do all you have to have your dad, uncles, Grandpa teach you as much as they can! I love how you are documenting everything, and doing your very best to share with as many as you can! Home stead farmers are a very different kind, and breed of person! Super smarter then your average people! In homesteading you have to literally do everything! I know this because the Family my sister Tracey Married into is named Dunkleberg! They are a historical Canton, NY Family, they goes back 225 years of farming in NYS. They diary farmed up until the price of milk per lb dropped below $1.00 per lb on in NYS. That was back on the early 90s. So they switch to raising angus, and Holstein beef cows for meat. At the moment their herd is 65. I spoke to my sister yesterday, and the price of calves is between $250.00 to $350.00 dollars. I love as you do workin g on the farm! The ability to do for yourself, to work the land, raise the animals for market, passion you see before your own eyes as things grow! Then you bring them to the market place. Sadly folks don’t appreciate where their food stuffs come from, and how they get to market! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for sharing all that you do so folks can learn! Hi Kate 👋🏽 The Elevator so awesome I just loved all the names that everyone wrote on the walls of the Elevator this video is so awesome thank you so much for sharing
My heart just melted when you reached out and held your grandpa's arm! You are a beautiful, graceful and charming young woman Kate! I've always wondered what it was like inside those old elevators. Very cool video! It would have been hilarious if you had a special effect when your dad got on that man lift. Speed it up super fast, then show him at the top with smoke coming out of his ears. LOL God Bless
Thank you so much for your kind words! I always help my Grandpa because he can always use an arm. He is 93. I'm so glad you liked the video. The elevator is really neat. I love the special effect idea!!! LOL I wish I would have thought of that. Great idea!!!!
Wow Kate you have no idea the memories you opened up for me wow I use to love them man lifts they were awesome wow this is so very amazing thank you Kate for all your time it was absolutely magnificent I hope you do more because it’s so very very interesting and you Kate are absolutely magnificent god bless you my dear beautiful elevator I hope you can keep it forever and ever such memories all wonderful thank you so much Kate
Kate is like a little fairy princess on the farm. She is so sweet and compelling that you want to follow her every step. I hope she enjoys some long periods of good health.
I grew up on a farm and as a little boy, back in the 50s I can still remember my dad taking me with him to the grain elevators. I was always in awe of them. Then as an adult, I moved from Ontario to Calgary, Alberta and all the way driving out west, I loved looking at the old prairie grain elevators. Most people would be taking pictures of the scenery, I was taking pictures of the grain elevators. To this day, I am still fascinated by them. Your dad said in the video "old and decrepit", I think they are beautiful.
This was an awsome video. I've always wondered how elevators directed grain two and from different bins. It was also great to see how things were done back in the old days. Keep em coming Kate.
I’m a news subscriber in my mid 70’s but while I laugh about Kate’s “egg” (odd pronunciation) I couldn’t figure out why I was captured by this channel! I’ve figured out that these segments are about family working together for everyone’s benefit. It’s also about good men! Real Montana men who work hard and deal with bad weather, machine breakdowns and doing it all under the Big Sky of Montana. But most of all I love Kate’s relationships with the men in her life AND her willingness to try new things under her dad’s watchful, patient but instructive care! I was raised in two farming communities and always loved big trucks and farming. Thanks for great segments on American eggriculture 😍!
I keep thinking….this last video was probably my favorite. Then I watch another and keep thinking the same thing after each one! You are a breath of fresh air and remind me of my daughter so much! It’s just a pleasure to see your enthusiasm for all things farming.
Thank you Kate for your videos of farm life. I was fortunate to live on a farm growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I see how much technology has changed! Your old combine was just rolling off the line when I left farming to head off to university. That moisture tester, in the grainery, was just like the one our neighbor had. Such cool antique technology of the past. Every spring and fall I still get “farming fever” and wish I could find a farm to work on even just for a few days. Thank you for the memories, and all you are doing to teach THIS era about where our food comes from!
Well..how about that, history lessons for all, your grand pop is a legend. Your grand pop and your dad's generation built a great country, and I reckon your going to keep up the tradition. This history of the past deserves to be remembered and preserved, your really so lucky to see your families roots, please keep it up.
Nice to see that this building is being maintained. Too much is lost when these older buildings are forgotten or destroyed. I enjoyed this video - ThanX Kate. Take it Easy ... MarK
Very nice, Kate, three generations together, the low sun adds great color, the Big Montana Sky, and your 50 foot long shadow. I loved the whole video. John in Wisconsin
Kate Your dad can run a vlog on TH-cam When he was up the Elevator He held the camera very well and translated It does it great Grandpa is a boss Kate, you're doing a great job showing us what the farm looks like
Thank you so much for your kindness! My dad is pretty good with the drone and the camera! You are correct. Grandpa is the boss for sure and we love him dearly.
Thank you for your exciting tour of this amazing time capsule on the plains of beautiful Montana. I love hearing about the fascinating stories and history from your Dad and your Grandfather. Your videos are such a joy to watch!
The grain elevator is super cool. The way you change to different bins is ingenious. You can obviously tell that things were much smaller on the farm back in the day.
After so many years of seeing those odd shaped elevator buildings all over the country I always wondered why they were made like that and how they worked. Now I know. Thank you so much Kate for the tour of your grandfather's grain elevator. it was awesome.... And thanks to your dad also.
The farmers were so inventive back then. Amazing how things are similar today, just more advanced. I have seen those old grain elevators around but never saw the inside. Thanks for the tour.
On my recent trip through Montana I saw these old elevators so this is so interesting seeing this history. Where I'm from Mpls which was where all that Wheat went to and Mpls was known as the Bread Basket of the United States.
I really enjoyed the tour of the grain elevator and learning the history about the way things used to be. I really enjoyed hearing your grandpa share stories about it too.
Thank you miss stephens for your kindness and your feed back you can tell me any time to mind my own if know what I mean sorry for asking about school it not my bus sorry
@@KatesAg I've enjoyed all of your videos, Montana is so beautiful. This particular video reminded me of my late grandfather...when I was a little boy I used to ride in his old grain truck to the elevator in the fall to deliver the crops. I never had a behind the scenes tour of the elevator and of course I've always wondered how they work and thanks to you and your family I was able to finally see some of the inner workings of an elevator.
Very very interesting. Fascinating how that was all designed and constructed. Had to be a huge project back in the day. The color of the fields with that low sun is just spectacular.
Love the interaction you have with your dad and your grandfather. You can see how much you care about them. A lot of us have lost our parents and it's fun to see how respectful and how much you love them.
My Dad's farm in Kansas had an old granary barn that had a big wheel in the upstairs for hauling a platform loaded with bags of wheat to upper storage cubicles. The wheel was powered by a man pulling a loop of rope that went around the large wooden wheel. Another rope wound around a smaller shaft that pulled the wheat up. I was told that a thrashing machine was run by a steam engine on our farm in the old days. The barn is still standing and my sister lives on that farm. There used to be a large barn that was build with pegged beams as the structure. Hail and high wind knocked it off its foundation in the 1970s. Good work on your granary tour. Nice video.
Thank you so much for your great story. It is really interesting. A pegged beam barn would probably be really neat to see. That must have been really old. I appreciate your kind words and encouragement.
Great tour Kate!!! A lot of history. You can bring your kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, etc. for tours in the years to come. Don't forget to write today's date on the wall and sign it. You could say that the grain elevator saw its first drone today.
Nice video Kate! Interesting technology that worked very well I think. Good to see the new windows and upgrades to keep it going. Looks in good condition for years to come! Lots of history there!
What a fascinating museum piece of farming history. Huge respect for whoever designed and built that. It's good that your family kept this building.Thank you.
Your dad and grandpa are a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, learn all you can. I lost my grandparents and parents and wished I had learned more. P.s. get all the recipes, Nana always made great dishes and I don't know how she did them. God bless you and your family.
Kate, another fun video. Always great to see a family's history come alive. Please thank your grandfather for his service on the USS Saratoga. The Greatest Generation is thinning out way too fast and we're losing their history. You should ask your grandfather if you can video some of his stories and memories before he forgets them all. They would be a great family history memento, especially for future generations!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will thank Grandpa for his service too. He will really appreciate that. Thank you for the great suggestion. I will see if Grandpa would share his WWII stories too.
Nice to take a look inside this historic Grain Elevator and hear your father talk about it with great enthusiasm.👍🏻after all these years still in good condition!👌🏻

Mr. Roney I wanted to thank you for your PayPal donation! I really appreciate it very much. Thank you for our kindness and encouragement.
