Incredible course, Incredible fans, Incredible country, incredible performances by all disc huckers & incredible camera work, & editing by the MDG media team. Thank you! 🙏
Thx gents: pro media and coverage - don't underestimate Joey Buckets - this kid is fire. We are going to see him in the winners circle more and more, trust me. Thx for all you do. Wish I can play this course before I die. Bucket list track, for sure.
I have to say the respect to Ricky is just abolutly amazing. He has been in the game for so long through several generations and he remains at the top through it all. He always has highlights even when he's not in the lead card or winning. With the amount of play time and his age, it's amazing the talent he has maintained as well as his ability to work to avoid injury though all the years. I remember watching some of his earlier footage and his skill even at that point was absurd. I guess he learned proper, great form from the get go and turned out to be incredible.
Thanks for a great coverage! So happy for Väinö. Podium place must feel so good after struggling first half of the season. Changing sponsors has worked absolute wonders for him.
Incredible showing from Ricky but very nice that Jakub was still able to make it interesting. Also great to see Väinö in a good form despite new equipment 😁😁
I really loved seeing Jakub bring his A-game. There were some points where i felt he could have made some bids that could have put the real heat on Rickey but he probably knew his game well enough to pick his battles.
Thanks for the coverage and excellent commentary! I think the commentary is a bit more detailed and descriptive of the shots and what to do. Some others have gotten away from that. IMO! 🤙🏼
In addition to his other qualities, I think Ricky has the de facto longest throws on tour. Obviously AB can huck it farther, but on any given hole, it seems like Ricky outdrives the card and puts himself into position to actually save shots because of his distance.
His distance with great accuracy was certainly on display, there was the hole on the front nine (maybe hole 4) where Semerad almost drove the 570ft hole tho...that was also impressive
Love the coverage and thank you for putting in the work. However, some constructive criticism- 1. Film edits need to give longer between throws and have replays of special shots. Everything is condensed too much and is too rapid fire so when the commentators are wowing about a shot, the next person or 2 has thrown and it is difficult to listen to what is being said while watching something else. 2. More focus on the action and less side talk. This will be helped by adding a few extra seconds or a screen transition when switching to another player’s shot. (Don’t talk over the announcer at the beginning of the round introducing players!) 3. Volume of voices is too low and subdued. I started snoozing at some point in every segment of both MPO and FPO. Take a breath, add a pause, embrace the silence occasionally, watch a shot without talking over it. The constant stream of commentary creates a form of droning that is more negative than positive. 4. This is for DGN. For both the MPO and FPO coverage there were DGN/DGPT commercials featuring the “new generation” showing all MPO players. Where are the FPO clips of the new generation? Evelina, Silva, Emily W, Kat M, Henna all certainly count as the new generation too and it is a bit tone deaf to run a commercial featuring only men in the FPO segments when “trying to grow the sport”.
Unfortunately we won't be covering the President's Cup or the European Open this year. However, we'll be active on Instagram to keep you informed about the tournament's progress 🤝🏼
Too bad there's no cell signal for broadcast at courses like this in the states. Really solid signal for the live broadcast the whole time for this one. We only get signals that good at the golfiest of golf courses in the states, which is why they are gravitating towards them.
Yeah, finland is specially designed this way because there is a lot of forests (I think second most in the world after Russia to the area of land) so they need to take that to the count while designing cell signals.
Jakub blew it the last 3 holes. You can’t lay up when you’re going for the win even on a death putt. Plus if he misses I believe he still outright takes 2nd but it was over the second he decided to layup
Players need to be getting paid WAY more. $8k for 1st place mpo? That's chump change and barely covers the costs for these players travel and hotel costs. Any elite series win should be a minimum of $30k in my opinion. The sport has grown enough over the last few years to be able to accommodate that.
Absolutely! 4 million to Ricky , 7 million to Paul M. But neither of those manufacturers own a private disc golf course? The payout needs to be where the money goes. Players will make their money winning. Then disc sales can recuperate and outside sponsors will be attracted to the game. No major television coverage will ever happen until payouts are well above half a million for these events and one million for majors.
I assume they also want the payouts to be as high as possible, but that's not how reality works. I'm sure it costs a lot to run a tournament, and disc golf is an incredibly niche sport here in Europe, outside of Finland and Estonia it isn't really considered a sport at all. Moreso, it's on a rapid decline in viewership. You can't expect "above half a million for these events" when the final round post-coverage reaches 60k viewers.
Ok, start paying for coverage. Start attending tournaments at 150$ min for access. Shell out quadruple what you do for equipment. And have everyone you know do the same. The money just isn’t there yet. I would love for the top fifty players to be able to make a comfortable living touring. The pool of money needs to get a lot bigger before that can happen.
@@JytaaniLyme's disease or borreliosis. Got bitten by a tick few years ago and didn't get treatment (antibiotics). It still affects his health every now and then (maybe in his joints).
Sorry to be the guy who says what lots of people are thinking but don't want to say: the main commentator's voice is not well suited for commentary. It is so monotone and lifeless that I can't stay awake through any MDG coverage. I'm imagine he's talented, a nice guy, and a good producer but commentary really needs to be sourced out. Someone who brings life and excitement to the coverage is really imperative right now. North American players are coming to Europe which means lots of viewers are looking for a European source for coverage. To capture that audience will be key to the success of this channel but the way it is right now I'm afraid the opportunity will be lost. Everything else is really well done, just one change and I think this channel will see exponential growth. I hope I'm not coming across as rude or cruel. I think in this situation he'd rather hear the hard truth, humbly source out that role, and enjoy the success of his channel, even though he wouldn't be in the spotlight.
Disagree, Maxime has a good voice and it isn't monotone. If we want european discgolf to grow, we all need to get comfortable with european talent and the voices that will come with it.
@@keiththurlow3555How so? Why not get a commentator who brings more life and energy into the coverage? Could very well be a european person🤷🏼♂️ The live coverage in Europe is amazing imo. How in the hell is it soft of him? If he went for it and missed, goes down the hill and possibly causes 2 more putts when there is someone only 2 stroked behind him from another card. Zero need to risk adding 2 strokes and opening the door to lose second. Your tripping
And this is why you arent a pro player. Ricky wasnt losing 3 strokes in the last 2 holes anyways, Jakub running the putt wouldve been a stupid risk for no reward
You mean thats why he got beat by an American? Cant put pressure on the leader by laying up, especially considering hed be hitting big putts all day. Super lame lay up.
MDG Media bringing their A-game all weekend. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
I have never in my life seen a more consistent player than Ricky in this tournament. Absolutely incredible.
Did you watch him break down the course? He was shredding during the practice rounds also
Check out 2018 delaware challenge. everyone was shredding.

The fact Ricky would have finished 2nd with his score after two round is insane to me
What a great course, I'm so glad you guys brought us this coverage. Congratulations Ricky!

Ricky had this figured out in his practice round, and executed his plan. He does that.
That practice round made this course look so easy. I knew he'd have a great tourny.

Ricky so clutch so clean almost impossible to beat here. very nice round
Ricky Wysocki with a clean series! 👍👍👍
