  • This was filmed at RAF Valley on the 14th December 2021, from both runaway 13, and 19. Because of where these planes park, and because of runway 19 being in use, they had to pass us at R13 to line up on R19. We absolutely love these Texans and really enjoy hearing them fly.
If there was any plane at RAF Valley that we could fly in, or pilot right now, it would be a Texan! They're fantastic little aircraft!
Powerplant: one 1,100shp Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop
    Length: 33ft 4in (10.16m)
    Height: 10ft 8in (3.25m)
    Wingspan: 33ft 5in (10.20m)
    Wing area: 175.30sqft (16.28m2)
    Maximum take-off weight: 6,900lb (3,130kg)
    Maximum speed: 316kt (585km/h)
    Ferry range: 884nm (1,637km)
    Maximum altitude: 31,000ft
On the Isle of Anglesey and in some parts of Gwynedd (Bangor/Caernarfon), there have been protests about the noise from the Texans. This was largely due to them not being fitted with the necessary safety package for them to fly out and practice over the sea.
This resulted in them doing their training over land, with all sorts of noises from their dives, rolls, twists and turns in the sky. It was absolutely amazing to hear. They are now (as far as we are aware), fitted with the correct equipment to fly out to sea, and so we hear them much less now. It's a real shame.
Plane registrations in this video (as they appear), are:
    Texan - ZM342
    Texan - ZM341
    Texan - ZM327
    Texan - ZM324
    Texan - ZM330
    Texan - ZM323

Love a Pilot wave and the Texan lot don’t disappoint.

      Definitely, we love that too!
The RAF seem to be generally quite friendly to people viewing, which is nice :)

Hi, I'm producing a 30 sec. clip for Affinity, the company operating the aircraft for the RAF. We would like to ask your permission to use a few seconds as part of this clip - we'll be happy to provide a link to your channel. Sent you a message through your website last week - but no reply there... Thanks, Hagai

Hi Hagai, so sorry the email is with us, but it's passed us by somehow. I'll reply to you there shortly. Thank you!
