- In April 2012 Copenhagen Phil (Sjællands Symfoniorkester) surprised the passengers in the Copenhagen Metro by playing Griegs Peer Gynt. The flash mob was created in collaboration with Radio Klassisk radioklassisk.dk/. All music was performed and recorded in the metro.

The sound: The Copenhagen Metro is very quiet and the recording you hear is where the train is standing still. That's why the recording you hear is so clean and crisp - and the sound is actually surprisingly good in the Copenhagen metro. We did this deliberately because we feel that a good sound experience is vital when trying to portray the actual experience that day. Further to the main recording, when the train was standing still, the recordings from the cameras was, as far as possible, mixed into the sound.
Quote from the sound technician: I recorded the sound with XY Oktava MK-012 supercardioid microphones close to the soloists and a set of DPA 4060 omnidirectional microphones as overhead for the rest of the orchestra. For some of the closeupshots, the cameramikes (Sennheiser ME 66) was added. - เพลง
In my humble opinion, this is one of the most beautiful Flashmob music.
The musicians, very competent, are distributed among the crowd, and this reinforces the surprise, the emotion, the smiles, the joy in the eyes of children, and adults of all ages and origins.
That’s the real language of music..
that feeling you get watching this. that's what we're alive for.
this never gets old. I listen to this at the end of my day and go to bed with happy thoughts 😴😊
Yeah I totally agree, it's such a lovely thing. Just showed it to my amazed 4 year old daughter!!
It always makes me happy and a little teary-eyed for its beauty and simplicity. LOVE this video!!
@@ladydawgfan4832 -- I always tear up!
ironic cus this piece is called morning mood
This makes me cry EVERY TIME I see it. It's a wonderful flash mob performance!
I always tear up at 1:05. The old lady looks just like my late grandma. :'-)
One of the loveliest pieces of music ever written.
I watch this almost once a month, for years now. The world disappears, and my soul floats freely.
The joy brought to these people. Both the listeners and the players. How beautiful.
How could they play so well inside a moving train? Marvelous
Let alone the guys from the Titanic
2024, still brings tears to my eyes when they the violins truly kick in
This was amazing I wish people would do this more, when we holidayed in Italy a couple of years ago there were guys on the metro playing anything from recorders to piano accordions it was brilliant
Man, this is my favorite classical piece. I would probably burst to tears hearing this in person.
This is so beautiful. The music and the joy it brings to everyone’s faces is so wonderous and everyone’s day seems touched and transformed💙🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing this.
I’ve been trying to express how sublime that performance was and words don’t seem to be enough. Suffice to say I became tearful not just at the piece’s beauty but also the wonderful reaction of the people on the train.
I have been watching this since 2013 and always get thrilled! So beautiful!
This is real music. It sets your soul free and takes to the sky.
The look of joy on people's faces is wonderful.
I keep listening to this one over and over it is so lovely.
Listening to this ten years after and still love the music. Beautiful.
Whatever that oboe said to that baby at the end -- I think it was magical and humanity.
We know that it is not possible. But for a minute, listening to this, it seems that there's still a little hope for this world.
More of this if possible - there is a great need for it!
This is simply beautiful! What a joy to listen to!
That was absolutely beautiful ❤❤ The change in the commuters faces and the guy pulled his ear buds out
Outstanding !
Look at the faces, music always makes folk happy and smiling. 😃
I might be on my 1000th watch of this video. Love it
Precioso, no hay palabras para expresar lo que se siente.
One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!
Would have loved to have been there. So beautiful!
I needed this. Especially today, with the world as uncertain as it is, and people seeming so worried and angry. I pray we don't lose music as a result of all these world events. So many concerts and choirs lost...let's make sure we bring them back and have more moments like this.
That would be great in these times 💜🙆
So sweet - seems like Spring! Beautiful!
Love these flash mob videos. Brilliant.
I have been watching since 2018 and i think this is the most beautiful flash mob i ever seen ❤
Uplifting to the spirit, thank you so much,...❤️
Kan bare se og høre den igen og igen, er normalt ikke til klassisk musik men helheden i videoen er bare smuk ❤️🇩🇰
That was so good and the faces of the people smiling was the best part. Sadly it was way to short.
Thank you for bringing joy into our hearts!
Imagine watching this in 4th Grade long ago and then coming back to this? Thanks for the memories!!
you guys are awesome . please do it again . and I love you flute lady .
I’m enjoying all of these! Thank you!!
Why the hell do I cry everytime I see this...
Impossible not to cry with this so beautiful and kindest music! It is part of my funeral’s playlist! (yes, as Soilent Green movie)! 😊
How beautiful human beings can be!
Agreed
That was sweet!
we know good and evil
Yet how ugly most of us are.
hmmmm...... you are a human??? xd
I keep watching this over and over again and everytime I do I get teary-eyed. It is such a beautiful gesture, a wondrous gift. I always believed music is food for my soul. Thank you!
it doesn't matter how often I watch this Flashmob it always brings tears to my eyes because it is so beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful Flashmob. Such a wonderful music...people who don't like classical music don't know what they are missing!!
C est magnifique.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😊
There is something incredibly euphoric in this video; it gives you one of those joyful uplifting "oh the humanity" sensations at the back of your spine. It's a combination of one of the most beautiful melodies ever written and the unexpected location that comes across as if someone shone a bright light into a foggy, dark corner of the room and brightened up the whole world, if only for a brief moment in time.
I call it the second national anthem, it's so beautiful and it encapsulates Norwegian nature perfectly.
Zamoteh...Wonderfully stated.
@In Actis Esto Volucris Yesss lets go Danmark
Is because that guy took out his ear phones to listen to the beauti of classical music
I'm late to the party but perfectly said. 🙌🙌🙌🥰
So beautiful. The passengers are so lucky to be there!!!
I watch 'flash mobs' all the time - this was one of the most beautiful. I wonder how all those people felt, at the end of their journey on that train! Tears in my eyes.
I don't know why i cried... This just made me so happy 😭
+JY M I'm so glad there are other people who react the same way that I do! Thank you for sharing this. I thought there was something wrong with me.
Same!
@@pallidbustofpallas4679 And you're a Dude ! Got to admit it i'm a 62 year old Dude and Yes it got me too ! Music is wonderful especially when its unexpected
You cried because you were happy.
It's self-explanatory, really.
Me too
That gentle smile from the baby enjoying the music...
I can't handle the lady at 1:05. Tears all day.
And I loved the little lady at 1:48 !
was thinking the same. Touching
The sparkling wonder in her eyes was tear jerking.
4 years later, me too bro.
Same here Laura.x
Something incredibly magical happens when classical music is played unexpectedly and out of its usual context of the concert halls and instead is given freely as in this video, by these wonderful and talented musicians on the commuter train. This is one of my favourite pieces and it really does represent the sun rising and the day beginning so perfectly and beautifully.
I'm crying and I don't understand why... It's... simply amazing.
I cry real tears every time I see this!
Me too
Me too.
+KTnarnia Me too :)
+KTnarnia same :)
+KTnarnia wtf
One of the most beautiful flashmob I've ever seen: BRAVISSIMI!!!
It's amazing to see how people faces lighten up as soon as they hear the music with huge smiles... lovely!
Back at my elementary school on the wrong side of the tracks in Middlesbrough. Our principle Mr Grant (RIP) introduced us to Peer Gynt. My love of classical music just grew stronger and stronger over the next 58 years. Morning has such memories for me. When I grew up I managed to cross the tracks and made something of myself. Perhaps “old Granty” helped and taught me that there were better things to hope for and achieve.
Ich liebe Edward Grieg - eine phantastische Idee
solche Flashmobs sollte es öfters geben
Just imagine that split second when youd realise your in the middle of something that special, it gives me chills.
lovely. I absolutely love classical music and I love playing my violin. I am doing my grade 5 in march 2017! I am only 12 years old
Wow!
Great job honey, I’m 15 and only in level seven.
Good for you. I play guitar and flute. I am amazed that you play at this young age. My good wishes for your future.
Everyone's drunk uncle @ 1:28.
Jo, det er han... 100x100 Dansker (Yes, he is... Danish) Hygge! hahaha ;)
Lol
Alcohol is not a prerequisite to let yourself be carried away by beautiful music.
@@olesuhr727 but it always is! ;)
I think he's the conductor.
I loved it when the young man took out his ear buds when he heard "the sun coming up!"
If this doesn't make you smile and feel joyful then I don't know what will
din mor der spiller blokfløjte på min * * *
Sooo Beautiful. You only need to look at the faces of the musicians & passengers to feel the energy, love & joy. A once in a lifetime experience..
Wow impressive , people were listening .
What else could they do? They were trapped. ;)
@@ThomasTVP ok but fr tho😭
I enjoyed seeing the man who took out his ear plugs.
I have watched this numerous times. The tone of the people on the train from start to end is in total step with the tone of the music. I really like to watch the faces of the riders and players as they progress from start to finish. This really makes a strong statement for the power of music to all ages.
Now matter how many times I watch this it makes me cry. Why is that?
Juleen Squires because this is just one of those videos that makes you forget all the bad in the world and all you can see is kindness and love and remember we're all the same. ^_^ its a great feeling.
yes, yes, yes!!
It's the connection, we come from a place of wonder where all souls our connected with unconditional love, we incarnate on earth to learn the negative that we wouldn't understand if we didn't live lives through this, we are divided by race, technology, religion, age, gender, looks, ideas, hate, jealousy but we still feel a connection deep inside and when we see souls coming together it's a reminder in emotion of where we are from and how we should be and what we will again become
Have a feel of losing it all?
I just can't remember when the fuck I asked
Loved that glorious moment when the music seemed to reach a crescendo just as the train was rising up out of the dark depths, into the light!
This is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes. Such a precious moment in time.
I wish I was there to experience it, standing right between these fine musicians.
Absolutely brillant! Thumbs up!
How ignorant and narrow-minded must one be to dislike this post?
Ok i can't stop to cry, it is so intense, so beautiful...
That moment at about 11:10 when daylight comes, and the orchestra kicks up a gear...Yeah, that does something for me.
last time i checked the video is only 2:16 long
@@bkarmark2602 don’t nitpick, sir.
Sense the tone.
rewatched after months, have something in my eye again :s

I almost cried. So beautiful. I'm still watching in 2017

What an AMAZING ride this must have been!
my days of catching trains is over (thank you god) but as sure as heck, nothing this nice EVER happened on my train!!
Still gives me joy. And small tears of happiness. Such a beautiful video. Young and old standing around just listening to some beautiful classical music. Some with tears in their eyes. And here i am feeling very happy, and i am not even there in the moment. So think about the people who are there! what an amazing experience!
And we shall have music wherever we go! ❤️❤️❤️
Copenhagen was one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited
Is it not one of the most beautiful cities you've ever visited, any more?

Life is beautiful!
we watched this I school and I cried while the rest of the sting orchestra class just sat there in awe and afterwards we all clapped and asked the teacher to play it again
This is my favorite classical piece.. what a touching video, I wish I was there.
See just what happens when peoples hearts are opened to music ?
The look of the lady at 01:05 says everything...
Every time I see this I cry.... og joy. Of joy for this great music. Of joy for these great faces, and of joy for this great country..... because is so small, and has room for things like this..... thank you.
I love this, but i can't watch it very often, because i don't want to cry all day.
