I am all about mixing and matching plates, silver all of that for larger parties. nothing says everyone is welcome more than having to drag everything out. I love it!
Being your guest at a party or a Thanksgiving would be a very special experience. Especially knowing how much time and effort has gone into the planning, decorating and of course cooking. Well done Beth, you are exceptional!
Your party planning is spot on! And you are absolutely right on not only checking the recipes for the main Ingrediens but also checking the pantry essentials (e.g. salt, flour, butter, etc.) as those things most often are overlooked since one assumes, those are at hands all the time.......but Murphy's law is 'you run out of it whenever it's needed urgently and the stores are closed'. That said, you gave me a litte 'WTF & OMG' moment.....you even made me scream to the screen "the knifes, Beth! The knifes!!! Turn them in, turn them in!!!!" LOL You see, over here in Germany, it is considered 'bad luck' as well as 'bad manners' to place the knifes on the table/plate with the blades facing the outside/right side. It's some weird thing, going back to dark middle ages, when there were kings and knights. So if there were some animosities between two kingdoms, one king invited the other (inclusive his whole entourage) to feast together to keep the peace. And to proof that everyone was really peaceful, they put their dinner knifes with the blades facing inside/left side toward the plate because if one wouldn't have the best intensions and the blade would face the outside, it would point to the person sitting next to you (and it would be easier to stab the enemy. So I beg you, Beth pleeessseee put the knifes with the blades inwards on the table to keep the peace 😊
Never been so excited to someone ELSE'S Thanksgiving table lol. I'm going to be a guest this year, but you're making me want to host! I hope you do this again for Christmas. Then it's game time for me! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
You are such a delight, Beth! You are so down-to-earth and genuine and so very organized. I love these videos and hope you do one for Christmas! Happy Thanksgiving to your family and friends 🍁
Ha ha! Oh Christmas I think will be a much smaller affair! Not as much family coming in. But we'll go big again for Easter! :) That will be fun to share!
Sterling silver girl here. You CAN put silver plate in the dishwasher. I would only hand wash the knives as I do the sterling ones. The blades are all stainless steel and can sometimes loosen from the handles in the drying cycle. And if you have fine china in the dishwasher please use detergent without lemon.
@@EntertainingWithBeth I could have told you that those large place spoons are soup spoons. There is also a soup spoon called cream soup that has a round bowl. No idea why there were no teaspoons in that box! I never see a problem mixing flatware patterns---it's so interesting on the table. Depending on the detergent, your flatware might not be quite as shiny after it comes out of the dishwasher but a little polish fixes that. Just don't let it contact salt for a long period. Salt is corrosive and will cause black spots that you can never remove from plate.
I love the you desert table Beth! As a daily tea drinker while working in my studio, I can truly appreciate those beautiful teacups and matching saucers. They are lovely and the story makes them so special. Anything handed down is always a nice touch of remembrance of loved ones no longer with us. Your parties must be so much fun with amazing food and a lovely atmosphere! I love everything you make! Happiest of Holidays to you and your family!
Beth have you ever used Swedish dish cloth? They are almost the texture of a mix between a paper tower and a sponge. You just wet them and you can use them like a paper tower, but they are reusable. I started using them recently and really like them because they clean well and help to save on the waste of paper towels. I still use the paper ones every once in awhile but these are a nice addition to the kitchen cleaning and would be great for the holiday time! Plus they come in a lot of cute patterns/colors. 😊
Well done Beth, i wish I could be more organised. As you know the French dont celebrate Thanksgiving, but its great to organise any dinner party with all your ideas. Thank you. Mxx
Oh my gosh! My family is required to watch this because “everything looks better in a basket” is a line I’m teased for endlessly. Thank you! I will not feel so alone in my compulsion. Also, the knives were sold separately because you needed a sharp (steak) and a regular dinner knife and few people could afford nice ones (more silver/wood carving) so they sold them separately to lover the cost of a setting. At least that’s what I was told in an antique store in London by a woman/shop owner who seemed to know!
LOL! Cheers to baskets! Maybe we should have "T-Shirts" made "Everything looks better in a basket!" LOL! Very interesting about the knives! Thanks for sharing! xxoo Happy Thanksgiving!
TRICKERY! There's a Part 3?? Okay Beth, I'll just remain here in the comment section waiting for that one too!😉 Seriously though, it really is fun to watch your process. It's obvious you've been entertaining for meany years, because you have this down to a science! I really love the mixed up flatware to be honest. It lets it be fancy without being too formal. You have so many beautiful pieces. It's always fun to see what lovely things you've acquired for some of your videos. I'm sure your guests feel very special. Heck, I feel special and I'm only watching!😆Okay, I will be hanging around here waiting for part 3! Until then, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!🦃🍁🥧🥂
I agree with combining rustic with elegant! I do it all the time as well. I have beautiful tablecloths all thrifted,as well as napkins, which i always use daily. Thanksgiving is my fav and I was so happy to see you preparing !
Wow Beth you really have the set up for entertaining! It’s great that you have a lot of serving pieces and silver flatware, bowls and platters. I have to tell you…your dainty China plates and cups and saucers were the pattern that my grandmother had back in the 1930’s. I never got any of it but I became obsessed with buying it on Replacements Limited. I have a tone of the dinner plates, dessert plates, soup bowls, vegetable bowls and even a celery tray. I adore it. I use it for Spring dinners. Always love your videos😍
I love these video where you are prepping and organizing! It provides such great ideas. I find them so entertaining and informative. Looking forward to what you do for Christmas. Love your almond pear tart recipe. I have made it several times now and it's absolutely delicious!
I love watching your channel, I’m right there with you in your kitchen having fun with you 😂 enjoying a glass of wine or a cup of tea 🫖 simply keeping you company, staying out of your way 😂 and giving you a helping hand ✋ if and when you call for it… I got your back 🥂🍾here to us having a wonderful fun filled holiday season… 🤍🕯️🤍 sending lots of love & abundance in all forms
loved how you husband excitedly announced another guest. he obviously has faith in you :) everything looks great. and, the weather.. whew! Good luck on the big day!
We do not celebrate Thanksgiving here where I live, but I love the idea of being grateful for everything in our lives, good health, the material and the spiritual aspects. I really believe everything is important, but when it comes to chose and really appreciate what matters the most, I without a doubt will say, is family and friends and that they are fine and healthy, that to me, is the most precious thing in life. You are part of that circle Beth I have learnt so much from you and enjoy your channel, you are like a dear friend, I appreciate your smile and great attitude, even in the most difficult times. May the Lord bless you and your loved ones now and everyday. Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours
Aww so sweet of you to say! Thank you for that :) And it's so true the friends, the family and the memories we create together is the most precious gift in life :) Cheers to that!
You have such a kind heart, Beth. I love what you said about using your grandma's tea cups and that using dishes like these keeps those we've loved and lost part of the celebration. I think that way, too... as I'm juicing oranges for my cranberry sauce with my grandma's old glass juicer. 💗 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Beth, have a great time with your family and friends! You're an outstanding hostess, I'm sure everything will be just spectacular!!! I am learning so much from you. Years and years ago, Pottery Barn used to offer free design classes and I went to one about entertaining during holiday time. They gave us a piece of paper with tasks to be done 2 weeks, one week prior, the day before, and the day of. It makes a world of difference, keeps the stress down and I can actually enjoy hosting without looking completely disheveled when the guests arrive. One thing I find helpful is setting up a beverage station, where I place the coffee, teas, juices for kids, and water with corresponding glasses, cups, and pitchers. That way, everyone can help themselves without my help. For Thanksgiving, I also like to make a hot alcoholic beverage like mulled wine or cranberry sangria in a crockpot on the warm setting, to keep it warm throughout the party. Those coffee cups you have would work great to serve something like this. The only glasses I set on the big table are wine glasses. That creates more room for other things I want to place there like S/P shakers, extra sauces, etc. In my experience, being consistent over time with a certain style of setting up makes guests feel at ease. After decades, my family knows pretty much where the food is going to be, where the drinks are going to be, and where the desserts are going to be, so they move freely and because they don't need my constant guidance, I get to focus on tasks that are critical at the moment, like taking a dish from under the broiler🤣🤣
Hi Beth, I am watching this wonderful video/preparations over past the dates. But you are always so entertaining, sweet and gentle. I Really love your channel. Can't wait to see part 3 and have you and your lovely handsome dad presenting with you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! Have a blessed and prosperous 2023 to you and your beautiful family!
Aww same to you! I'm so glad you are enjoying the series! It was such a fun day we all had together, part 3 is a fun one with Dad and My sister makes an appearance too! :)
Great tips. I'd like to share a tip for helping to keep the bottom of the oven cleaner and stain free. From Amazon I purchased black oven liners by Linda's Essentials. I can pull the fiberglass liner out and wash or pitch and replace. It's great when in the middle of a baking project. Spills are messy and smelly.
I love the story about the dessert cups and saucers. And, yes, I like it fancy like this. It definitely makes it more special! Thanks for a great video! I love the silverware boxes and the idea of keeping a box of wine glasses and water glasses ready to go!
I'm so glad you're able to share your tips with us, this is your time to shine and your efforts will without a dought be truly appreciated, I know everything will look beautiful and turn out wonderful what a feast. you're the most delightful host, and I hope you have an easy week ahead for your special family gathering.🍂🍁🍗🥧☕🍷🍽💗
I’ve been watching your videos since you were on kin community. Your moms sweet potato recipe has been a staple in our family for years! Always love to see all you do!
I love to watch you prepare for guests. It puts me in such a good place in my mind. I can’t believe we have to wait until after Thanksgiving but understand this is in real time. It will be on my list in my little Dollar Tree 6x8” notebook. You can stuff with 2022 holiday recipes, notes and photos, rubber band it and store away. Learning a lot from you. Merci.
It is so exciting getting ready for a holiday. I don't know about anyone else but I love the process! I hope your nephew is enjoying Canada. We're a friendly bunch up here, Beth :)
So pleased to see the Princella canned "yams". That's what my Mom always used. I do love a freshly baked sweet potato, but the Princella can is a great shortcut to a sweet potato casserole. It's really all about the marshmallows anyway! :)😃
I too prep early and in stages. I love, love, love and am grateful for all of your helpful tips and the spirit in which you approach everything. Happy Thanksgiving! Margie (Southern California - Orange County)
You’re amazing! So much planning ahead which hopefully allows for you to enjoy the day when the time comes. It’s funny, I’m purging so much of my stuff after I moved trying to simplify my life. It’s good that I can live vicariously through you! Have a beautiful time with friends and family! 💕
Hi Beth! I love that i found your show. I can see me in you. I go to great lengths to serve people. I love it and I love you! Love your garden btw. I'm a gardener too!
Aww so glad you found me #SoulSister! Ha! It's true there is something about serving others and making memorable moments for people that just brings us such joy ha! My Mom will always say "stop doing so much work! It's fine!" but I'm like Mom "This is my Love Language, let me speak ha!"
I SO love your videos Beth, you think of the best ideas and have such great tips!! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, can’t wait for the reveal video after Thanksgiving!!🍁
I love the World Market glasses, I only do stemless since it’s easier to clean. But good idea to add the stems and use stemless for water. Thanks for the video,
Beth, I use an oven liner and I love it! I also make it Thanksgiving week vs Thanksgiving Day to lessen stress. I can relate to all your prep, I go through the exact same thing!
Yams and sweet potatoes are not the same. Sweet potatoes are white yams are orange. My grandmother always grew both, but more sweet potatoes than yams. She mixed both and candied them, they were SOOOO good. One thing I like to do is add some cayenne pepper.
Hi Beth, great video, thank you. I feel inspired by it. I also ordered some of the napkins, thanks for the tip. I will be making the roasted butternut squash salad with quinoa from the previous video, the corn pudding recipe, and a version of the broccoli salad. Thanks for the ideas😊
Started the folder system! Added it to what I already do for holiday management. I have a folder for Thanksgiving, 4th and all the Jewish holidays. Chanukah is next so I need a print out of the crullers I want to try and a doughnut recipe that tastes like Krispy Kreme before their formula changed.
Gosh, I just love this. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas, but so many great ideas for Eid, as I also host a few people and make multiple dishes and desserts...! I love the silver with the little silver wine dish and I thought the silverware together looked better together rather than separate with the herb... only because it's an odd number 🤣 The 2 and 1 didn't vibe 🤦♀️ ... The teacups are very pretty 😍
Ha! Oh I love the feedback! It's funny I still can't decide I keep going back in forth in mind! Ha! Guess we'll have to wait until PART 3 to see what we decided, and of course then when my Dad arrives on the scene and my sister (the two family designers! ha!) it may all change AGAIN! :) Ha!
@@EntertainingWithBeth haha that should be interesting... What if you tied them together with some twine and the herb? It's been sitting with me too..! I'm invested 🤣 Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure it will look amazing and your guests will feel welcome and loved...! Happy Thanksgiving! 😊 Cannot wait to see part 3!
Once again, simple tips this Vlog that are game changers and sure to make your gathering whether for 2 or 20 a little less stressful. Thank you Ms. Beth and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Hello, just cover your air-pots with scrapbook paper, adds a little color, toss it after the party, also if you are using one for tea, you can label them. Love the flatware, you can also find caddy’s for flatware at Ross and TJ Max. These caddy’s work great for buffets. Have a great Holiday
@@EntertainingWithBeth Greetings Glad you liked the idea. You can also use fabric. Scrapbook paper comes in a plethora of patterns. If you really put paper to use you can coordinate all kinds of things on a tabletop. There are lots of coordinating patterns, you don’t have to “match”. Paper napkin rings, menus, collars on vases, place cards runners and more. Hope all goes well with your party. God Bless
Glad I’m doing it right even for my party of one! 😀 I’m still prepping as if I’m making dinner for a full crowd in terms of process. I shopped this week for all the stuff that will “hold” and have been going back and forth between whether to shop on Monday or Tuesday for the fresher items. In the past it would have been Tues or Wed, but with supply issues, I’m a little concerned about waiting even till Tuesday. 🥴 Decisions! I loved your final choices for flatware and table setting. The all silver look is so pretty and i think “your” pattern is gorgeous! The other pattern melds well and, unless your guests are scrutinizing the flatware at their neighbor’s plate, nobody would ever even notice. Besides, they’ll all be too wowed by seeing family and friends and by your lovely table and food to even look! I agree with you about proper cups and saucers! When I needed to replace my everyday dishes (long story) seven years ago, I was shocked that so much dinnerware wasn’t sold with cups and saucers, only mugs! I wanted porcelain because of its lighter weight so that made it easier. And I, too, have special dessert plates that my mother cherished when I was a child and so I’ve always cherished them, too. I don’t think I’ve ever had holiday pies on anything else - ever - except a handful of holiday meals at relatives’ houses. But then Mom would still make pies for at home and we’d pull out the plates! Happy, happy Thanksgiving to you, Beth, and to your family! 🦃🍂🌾🍁🦃🍁🌾🍂🦃
Another great prepping video. The winds really went crazy here in Camarillo. Looks like Thanksgiving will have great weather. Looking forward to the next video.
I remember selling a set of 12 cups and saucers and dessert plates exactly like yours at my antique store. I love that style. Your tables will be lovely and inviting.
Aww thanks! And I forgot to mention the best part about this set is that while it may look dainty, it was created for restaurant-ware so it goes in the dishwasher and never fades ha!
I do a couple of shops and basically all the make ahead/do ahead things exactly like you. Yes, marshmallows, rolls and nuts are the most likely things I burn, smart to have some back ups, lol.
Same to you!! And yes it sounds crazy, but by brand is really the way to go! Something about the visual uniformity that helps find what you need a lot quicker!
I have almost my whole pantry organized with small plastic bins. Which works great! Except for my spices - I used to grab the bin but then used to have to dig thru it to find what needed. I found these rubber tracks on Amazon meant for spices in drawers. So now I have one dedicated drawer - the spices lie flat and I can immediately see what I need. The only time I can’t find one now is when the husband puts a spice back into the pantry instead of drawer. 😊
Hello Beth,
I'm always so touched and impressed by your generous, serving heart. You are such a quality lady.
Pilgrims Progress! So “Thankful” for all you do for our Family! God Bless You!!! Bringing us all together!
My favorite time of the year! :)
Your daughter is amazing…. help me so many times over the years for recipes…
Wonderful energy and positive attitude!❤️

what's your recipe with the canned sweet potatoes 🥔?

Being your guest at a party or a Thanksgiving would be a very special experience. Especially knowing how much time and effort has gone into the planning, decorating and of course cooking. Well done Beth, you are exceptional!
Another tip for organizing spices… is by spice color…. Put your browns with browns, reds with reds and greens together. That helps too👍
I love you Beth, you’re so cheerful and have such great tips! I’m having my morning coffee and taking notes. You make things fun 😊☕️📋🖊

I agree Beth. Rustic refined is a win-win aesthetic and you execute it quite effortlessly.

Beth, you’re such an inspiration, love your Chanel and all your tips.
Beth, i love this series! Can you do a Part 4 after Thanksgiving when you clean up and clear everything and put things away?
I’ve been watching your videos since you were on kin community. Your moms sweet potato recipe has been a staple in our family for years! Always love to see all you do!
This is so so helpful! Every tome I host I realize how much more I should get done days before!
Happy Thanksgiving Beth - love these party prep videos. The joy you have in being prepared is infectious x
Ha! Oh yes I love a good "party plan!" LOL! It really is part of the fun ha!
Merci.
Oh I love that! I want a dollar tree notebook ha! Love that idea! :)
Lol I don’t use the broiler for the sweet potatoes anymore. I use a kitchen torch. Mine was burned every year from the broiler.
Oh, I love you Beth ❤ you’re such a joy to Watch . 😂🤣👏🏻👏🏻
the tea and saucer set is beautiful and I would definitely be using them for special occasions like the holidays
It is so exciting getting ready for a holiday. I don't know about anyone else but I love the process!
I hope your nephew is enjoying Canada. We're a friendly bunch up here, Beth :)
Happy Thanksgiving Beth to you and your family. Best wishes from Northern Ireland.
This was so entertaining to watch!!! I can’t wait to see the final video!!! Loved your sweater too❤❤
Me too! Hope it all comes together! 🤣🙌 Yes the sweater is super cozy the link is in the description! Happy shopping!
You’re amazing! So much planning ahead which hopefully allows for you to enjoy the day when the time comes. It’s funny, I’m purging so much of my stuff after I moved trying to simplify my life. It’s good that I can live vicariously through you! Have a beautiful time with friends and family! 💕
The silver cutlery you chose will be beautiful with the more earthy mats. Can’t wait to see the whole thing pulled together!
Me too ha! :) I think it will be pretty! Stay tuned!
Oh, I've been waiting for this. Your tips have been so helpful, and recipes so delicious. Can't wait for part 3! Happy Thanksgiving. :)
I'm from Asia but still am really enjoying your Thanksgiving series! :) Good work, Beth!
Thank you for this video, Beth! I am in the middle of holiday cooking and baking and you are right! Need to be organized!
Oh wait what is an oven liner?! I must know about this! That sounds pretty genius!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and to your whole family 🦃. Thank you for sharing your table setting ….Looking forward for Part 3.
I like your preparation & organization. Thank you for sharing
'Everything looks better in a basket' Yes!! Beth, that's my life motto 🤩 love everything Thank you
Right?! As I get older I might have to put myself in a basket ha!!
@@EntertainingWithBeth😂😊
@@EntertainingWithBeth you're the best Beth! oh I like that idea!!! I'll do the same 😂😍🥰😘
May you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thank you for all of your prep tips and precious family recipes!
I love this video!! Thanks for all of your tips! I was feeling overwhelmed and now I’m motivated to get it done and prep. ❤
Really loving all your Thanksgiving video 🧡🧡🧡
You are the best, so organized. Thanks for sharing
Once again, simple tips this Vlog that are game changers and sure to make your gathering whether for 2 or 20 a little less stressful. Thank you Ms. Beth and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Request granted. I wish you and your family all the best.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I organize my spices by brand too, mostly because they fit better together that way, like you said!
Right?! So true!!
Oh that's a great idea Edwin! Love that! I'm going to head to Michaels and see if I can find some! :). TFS!

Greetings
Glad you liked the idea.

Aww same to you Lucinda! I love those stories! The holidays bring out the best stories in all of us! :)

🎵🎶 Mem-ries…🎶🎵 Your memories-stories always resurrect mine!
Another great prepping video. The winds really went crazy here in Camarillo. Looks like Thanksgiving will have great weather. Looking forward to the next video.
Yes the wind is crazy here too! Hoping it dies down by Thanksgiving so it doesn't blow all the table decor away ha! :)
This was so fun and very helpful! Our spices look the same (in the before shot ) - Your enthusiasm and joy shows!
Ha! Try the "by brand" organization technique! Totally works!
Hi Beth, all good info! Your home is so beautiful!
I do a couple of shops and basically all the make ahead/do ahead things exactly like you. Yes, marshmallows, rolls and nuts are the most likely things I burn, smart to have some back ups, lol.
Happy thanksgiving to you ! Everything will look beautiful and delicious I’m sure 😊
Amo tu contenido ❤( love your content) always so helpful 🙌
I'm so glad you enjoy it! :)
Great tips. Definitely implementing grouping the spices by brand. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
Same to you!! And yes it sounds crazy, but by brand is really the way to go! Something about the visual uniformity that helps find what you need a lot quicker!
Hi Beth! Maybe if you put little white labels on your spices and herbs lids, and write the name on top, you can find them also at a glance❤
OMG LOVE THAT! YES! I bet my kids would love to do that! They just love any excuse to play with that label maker! Ha!
Yessss!!!!
Looks great Beth!! Good luck! Happy Thanksgiving❤
Ohhh this sounds great! I've seen those spice drawer thingys and now I'm wondering if I should try that instead!
