    Thanks so much for sharing Jennifer, you’re always so inspiring and generous with the information and time you share. Also, I wonder if the ThermoWeb foil would work with embossing ink and then ran through a laminator, I may have to try this, after all, what would it hurt?!

    Jennifer, when you run your cardstock through the laminator to straighten it, are you using the heat setting or the cool setting? And if you are using the heat setting, how long are you letting the laminator heat up? I am just now learning the foiling process and I really like making my own stencils as I have tons more dies than stencils! Thank you!

    • @jennifermcguireink
      @jennifermcguireink  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the heat setting and let the laminator heat about for about 10 minutes.

    I’d think a plastic kitchen bench scraper (used for dough) would work for scraping stencil gel, too. Just don’t use it for food. You could find one in most kitchen stores or probably Walmart.

    One of the many things I love about your videos Jennifer is that you always give alternative ways to get the effects where possible, when people don’t have the equipment that you have. As always thank you for your time and inspiration x

      i reallllly try hard to do that. and try to limit the videos where you HAVE to have a specific product. i know this one does focus on a couple key products (transfer gel, laminator), but i hope it is still helpful!! thank you!

    Again, lots of great tips, thanks Jennifer!
    I have two questions. 1. Why were you laughing when you applied ink to the "You matter to me" background stamp? Was it because you "flashed" the lid? I thought that was amusing. :)
    2. Can you run the paper with transfer gel more than once through the laminator? For example, can you cover up a part of the gel with foil, run it, then cover another part with another foil, and run again?
    Anyway, my favorite card is the one with the opal foil. It is truly gorgeous!

    • @jennifermcguireink
      @jennifermcguireink  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      because i said simon says stamp several times in a row and got tongue tied.
      not sure if you can run through a few times. worth a try!

    These are beautiful cards. I am anxious to do some of them with some of the dies I have. Also, on the toner sheets that do not have sticky on back, couldn't you use double sided tape on the back before you cut out the dies and then you can just peel of the back and you have the sticky to lay on the card. I just love your videos. You explain what you are doing so it is easy for anyone to do the techniques. I could watch a different video at least several times a week.

    I use the magical GLAD Press n Seal that Jennifer's husband invented (I know, right) to hold my die cuts, instead of purple tape. I recently made several posters for a party using text die cuts, and it would have taken forever to get them lined up and glued down. Tape down a sheet of Press n Seal sticky side up. Once you have all of your die cuts arranged how you like (backwards, of course) you can glue everything all at once and don't get glue on your fingers!!! PLUS, because the Press n Seal does just that, everything is held down and won't curl or warp while it's drying. It releases from cardstock AND paper beautifully, without leaving residue. I'll tell you, that stuff is genius. I don't use it in the kitchen though😉

    I’m loving your videos, thank you so very much for sharing your amazing talent. I’m a little confused with all the beautiful foils available. Are the heating foil & the non-heat foil (like your other video I’m just about to watch) the same foil? Or do I need different foil types depending on whether I’m using the laminator/toner technique or the other method? I hope this makes sense and can’t wait to play with this technique! ❤️🇦🇺 love from Australia x

    • @jennifermcguireink
      @jennifermcguireink  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is confusing because we have so many beautiful options these days. They are not the same. There are toner activated foils and heat/pressure activated. The former goes through the laminar and the latter is for machines like Spellbinders Glimmer system.
