Best $110 guitar out there. This was my first guitar I got back when I started learning 11 years ago. To this day its my main practice guitar and backup onstage guitar. I have other, much better guitars now, but this baby will forever hold a place in my heart.
I really like classic 57 humbuckers, I put them in my Gibson LP Standard. Great improvement.
does anyone knows if the action on this guitar is good? im thinking to give one to a kid in my street who wants to learn.

I turn 19 this month and my main gift from my parents is a vintage sunburst Epiphone Les Paul Jr for £119.99 which I'm soooo excited for. I literally haven't heard anything bad about these guitars but is there anything else I should know about them?
3 years too late but they’re cheap beasts! Lot of guitar for the money now at £300 new UK little overpriced but great for money Gibson version at £1200 better but not that valve better :)
You can change the pup if you want, but do yourself a favor and try tweaking the pickup height before you spend your hard earned quid on a new pup that you would have to tweak anyway...
Would this Guitar be good for Pop-Punk (blink 182 and Green Day).

I am in a budget, simply because I want save more. But I was thinking of buying a Fender Frontman (10g) for an amp, would that work out? Sorry for asking to many questions, I am new to Guitar playing

Jimmy Peralta another great amp is a fender frontman 15g. Might be a bit more than a 10g but it sounds great for punk rock/pop punk
Did you listen to the video???? Of course it is! Billy Joe Armstrong didn't get a Gibson signature model of the Junior for nothing. It's one of his main go-to guitars. And even though the Gibson is ten times the price of this one it's not completely different in character. So....

I looked up videos on reviewing the epiphone les Paul junior because my friend recently got this model as his first guitar and I wanted to know in depth how it compared to other guitars
I told him my opinion of it based off my experience and testing it out myself but I felt I needed another opinion to be sure
Hey Doodles, I just checked back with your gibson LP jr video to compare. The Gibson definately sounds fatter, the Epiphone would make a great economical stage back-up to the Gibson, both seem pretty good though. I'm looking forward to your shoot out between the two !

I want to get one for Rocksmith 2014, but I don't know where to start. I was thinking of this one since it would come with the game originally. Or I was thinking Epiphone Les Paul Special I P90 since it is on sale at GC. I don't know anything about guitars.

I was on board with you Doodles for a long time, but when you suggested that a beginner needs to focus on the tones you'd get on a two pickup guitar? You lost me brother. That's like saying, "Hey kid, don't buy that 37 key Sharper Image keyboard you just saw at Walgreens and save your money for a Mini Grand for all the 88 keys!". What? You just said (probably months ago, I wasn't looking) to get a two pup guitar over a one pup as a beginner asked what to do. That was a touch disappointing from a guy I really respected. You should rethink that answer.

Silver stripe peavey bandit don't use the distortion channel and crank the compression and gain Clean.. Loud AF.

+Doodles thanks mine turned out pretty good except the volume knob makes a noise like it's dirty but it's not

I love Gibson Junior's but I dunno...the epiphone ones look kinda cheapish. They still sound better then a lot of other budget end guitars, like those ESP, LTD's..etc

Could anyone recommend me a similar guitar with a single bridge humbucker, like Frankenstrat but more in affordable range? I would love to play some metal tune on such monster.

What you want is Kramer Baretta, me thinks. ;-) Either new (a cheapo axe for 180 EUR + X for a pickup upgrade and a n expert setup maybe) or a vintage one from the 80s incl. Floyd Rose style tremolo. Google them and/or have a look at eBay. ;-D

I bought used for $67.00 and it was like new. That thing is need help, the tunes got tossed in the trash. New Grovers and a bone nut helped . I put a better bridge. Cool and I like it. I,did put a P90 on it because the humbucker sucked.

Ah cheers man- yeh im buying a les paul junior but in ebony black- and all the photos have a cream humbucker shroud/bracket but the ep lpj im looking at doesnt just like yours so i believe his to be a 2015 model :)

I have to disagree in the most adamant of terms Doodles! A new player isn't going to be looking for tones or styles or sounds! They will be looking for the ability to play and then the finer sounds will come later. I'm sorry if you disagree with that, but who learns how to drive a car so they can Tokyo Drift before they can drive street legal?

Doodles Could you please tell me what the benefit of having a neck pickup is? I really wanna get this for my "first" guitar and will probably make my decision regardless of the downsides of not having one are.
I put "first" in quotes because my grandpa let me use his guitar (He hasn't played for a LONG time) to practice. The reason I'm acting so fast to get a new guitar is because it has an awful buzzing noise. I opened everything I wasn't afraid to open, and can't seem to find a problem. And it's not interference from other electronic devices, so it must be the guitar (I've tried it on a pc and an amp).
So yeah. I'm screwed into buying a guitar. If it doesn't buzz, I'm happy. :P
TheBall - Rocket League ., have you tried using other cables? if so...it must be a grounding problem...there should be a ground line going to the bridge..
Not knowing the guitar, I'd guess it's a single coil, not a humbucker. They both pick up ambient electrical signals from around you and can lend to the to buzz you're hearing and that's why humbuckers are popular to an extent. Both can get the interference, but single coils just gobble it up ;-). I'm really spent, so I'll be crashing, but it's a simple google to find remedies. It could be as simple as you need new cables. Good luck, though.

Doodles I've added a Hellraiser to my Schecter collection, couldn't try it out because of the steps to his house, got it home the input and neck EMG were broken. Not everyone is as honest as you are mate.
Doodles Yeah its just soldering but I'm going whip out the 81/85 and stick a set of Zombie Dust Doomsters in. Can't complain to much as I got it for a great price, just don't like the dishonesty. I'll keep my eye out for you in case any solo 2's pop up.
Yea, I love the color. It looks gorgeous to me, possibly a new favorite color of mine. But, since it's so appealing to me and I would buy it ASAP, I wan't to know where you found this color because I can't find the same color for the death of me. If you can help out I'd appreciate it! Where'd you buy this guitar? I can't seem to find any other colors of this guitar than the Ebony and the Vintage Sunburst. I know these colors were exclusive but is there any other place you can recommend where I can snipe these used? Where should I start looking?
