As a middle school oboe I legit have never seen a piece where we play this much without the flutes XD. Now I get to rub it in their faces ;-;
the point of the song being arranged like this is so middle school bands can play this. that doesn't mean we will forget the original childrens march. btw ty for the song it made playing it a lot easier
This is for high school and it’s a quite advanced piece
@@JCapMediaEight grade band is playing this for me so that makes a lot of sense
@@anthony_3Toes same!
I play the alto 1 part. The many times I play with the melody is insane.
I play it too
which one? alto clarinet or saxophone?
I didn’t play this in high school but my high school 9th grade concert band played this in the fall of 2016 at the time I was a sophomore
2:11 I much prefer that being a euphonium solo as opposed to being split between multiple high woodwinds
That’s very true, but as a euphonium solo it usually goes unheard by most.
I have played this piece and the actual melody has not been watered down. The arranger just cut out a snippet of the original and I don't know how its sad when the original piece is still out there.
So middle schoolers can play the song
The clarinet struggle is real lol
That doesn’t make it any less harder.
@@HelloooThereI was just saying
@@1chrvss614 ok ticky tay
UGH FR☹️ im new on clarinet and im supposed to memorize 30 measures in a day👎
I play Bari sax for this and its great
I just got this today for bari sax. Turns out, I was also handed the bassoon part since we don’t have one😂. 7 pages, 1 stand, constant melody with random interludes copying the tuba, it’s fun😂
@@tremble7429 the bassoon part is basically a mash of Bari sax, tenor sax and euphonium parts
My sister is playing this, this year
i play 3rd clarinet in this peice and we stand out more than the 2nds and if only the other 3rds could figure out that we have like 5 key changes and that in the first part of the song it's not f natural, but f#, maybe we'd sound good as a band
Were you in all-state honor band?
Sucks to be a flute player who rest for 93 measures
Laura Mandarin facts
trumpets have 85 but still feels bad
@@logangarcia4820 i only have to wait 1 measure get vectored
Exactly
bruh literally me
the flute notes. So high
but the rest. so long
percussion gang not playing for half of the song🥰
rip...
can't relate because i got clarinet
Oboe gang resting for 139 measures out of 220
lol. As a flute, same! We don’t even play until 93, and then we get rests EVERYWHERE!! 🤣
WHOO-HOOO 1ST TRUMPET 🎺
YASSS LETS GOOO FIRST TRUMPETS!
@@lovelysparkle7931 IMAGINE GETTING 2ND TRUMPET 🥱🥱🥱
I play 3rd clarinet it's actually fun

I play first trumpet on this, and it hurts my lips a lot

The English Horn got cancelled in this 😥😥

I play second clarinet in this and I HATE IT. Its just so *awkward*.
Sad to see great music watered down like this :(
Joshua Stegall I agree.
A crime against the original.
Well it takes it down from something like a grade 6? to a grade 3 and gives a terrific piece of music to younger kids to play. Obviously better ensembles wouldn't use this arrangement.
Not true.
This level arrangement is the only way for middle school band to play this wonderful piece.
Grainger specifically suggested and condoned these "watered down" assemblages in this work. Your argument and objections are with Grainger. Grainger in turn would not only wrestle you to the floor with your fan-boy nonsense, but politely request that you get off his balls and become your own hero.
