This is such a well-articulated explanation. We will be moving next year and are planning our eclectic living room. It is an older condo with classic style. We already purchased a Vertigo pendant lamp and large bronze mirror for over the classic fireplace.

Even though Eclectic is not necessarily my cup of tea, I love looking at it! 🤩 i think a person would have to have an impeccable sense of style, otherwise it might look messy and overwhelming…

Terrific presentation. My interior style is eclectic. I enjoy colour and different design styles such as MCM, Scandi and transitional.
I'm not a maximalist which is often confused with eclectism. I decorate with sentimental items gifted to me, brought back from travel etc.
It is an art of curating and cohesiveness.
I also enjoy the flow between spaces, l certainly don't want to be knocking into things.
