      Thank you! Fishing is done within strict quota and regulations, a balanced approach... And to live off the nature like this is an honor.

    I love those pots! I’m so used to seeing the ones on deadliest catch but that’s a much better idea.

      Very neat pots! There also exists a smaller version, perfect for one person to handle... Those Deadliest Catch pots are big enough to accomodate my tiny boat!

    Fin video!

    Wow this is amazing. Ok, what am I missing? Why are the cages flat when u pull them up? And wow those kings are beautiful!!!

    • @norwayfishing
      @norwayfishing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The cages are a metal platform at bottom and metal platform at the top. Everything in between is nylon net. The rings (filled with air) make the pot expand in water and as is comes up it collapses automatically when out of water. Very neat system!

    Hey hey captain. I would like to know if i could buy some of those king crabs directly from you. Is there anyway i can contact you? Thank you

      The regulations in Norway are strict. I can't sell crabs directly to you. If you are interested in buying, I recommend to google "North Cape King Crab". A small family owned buyer, producer and exporter of king crabs form Norway. I am supplier to them, just mention my name! Good luck!

    How much can you fish in a year and how much do you get per kilo?

    • @norwayfishing
      @norwayfishing  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In 2024 the quota is very low, only 740 kg. Finished in three days! In 2023 it was over 2000 kg, and a few years ago close to 5000 kg pr boat. In 2024 I had $40-50 pr kg crab.

    thats a bit labour intensive, i would change to a better design.

    • @norwayfishing
      @norwayfishing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with you! There are smaller pots, better for one man... And also other equipment to make all processes more lean... But as the limited quota makes for a short season, I do not care about the amount of work this short period of time.

    WY wouldn't you have container to throw them ,,instead ov double handling

    • @norwayfishing
      @norwayfishing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I see your point. It has to do with small boat and lack of space. They crabs are actually triple handled! After each string I check every crab for meat and damages, only the best crabs go into the final container to be delivered. This day the quality was very good!
