Several years ago, my daughter introduced me to the magic that is VIXX and it was the cover of On and On that brought me to the star power that is ACE. I clicked on the video so fast and was blown away by their performance. They truly did justice to the song and have every reason to be proud of their homage to the Concept Kings! I have been a huge fan of ACE ever since!

came across this by chance and as the video progressed i had this thought. the thought that a.c.e are very similar to their vixx seniors. i mean, they are both different but what i felt was similar about them is the fact that when they both debuted, they immediately got to working in developing themselves and grasping at what made them, well, THEM. to elaborate, vixx became known as concept-idols and they proved this time and time again with their styling AND music. they found themselves as a group. a.c.e cemented themselves too, but slightly different. biggest example, their fashion and makeup or the heavy edm/instrumentals. it’s what they are known for, it’s what draws people in. when you think of vixx, you think concept. when you think of a.c.e, you think fashion/makeup. i guess they are similar but they feel different in a way because vixx had “concepts.” a.c.e are more fashion. but they fleshed their images out like this, groups not afraid of NOT fitting into the standard mold. of course, they are both so much more than that, incredibly talented (and under appreciated imo) in all aspects, barrier-breaking idols. ive been following vixx since a little after their debut because it was close to the year i first got into kpop.. but after that, i was hooked. and a.c.e, i didn’t know why but i felt myself gravitate to them with their debut. I never questioned why, i just knew i liked them and each comeback had me waiting for more. it’s just the same aura?? i don’t even know how to describe it. but i am glad to stan both.
