Todays menu looks so good, tasty and healthy. With the cod, clams and veggies, I would probably add some grated ginger and chili.
I wish you and your family a merry christmas. Hopefully in the new year, more people will discover your channel and appreciate your great work. I know that christmas is not a traditional japanese holiday, hence my question: do you celebrate it, and is there a special meal for christmas ? We celebrate mostly on christmas eve, and there is no traditional dish in Switzerland. In our family, its always fondue chinoise, which is a bit similar to shabu shabu. We cook the food (thin sliced of meat, shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, broccolli etc.) in a spicy broth with chinese mushrooms in it. And dip the cooked food into different sauces made from mayo with herbs / curry / ketchup / mustard / etc. And at the end, we eat a bowl of the broth with a poached egg in it. That helps for digestion (or at least, we believe that it helps 🙂).

I wish you and your family and friends have a wonderful Christmas too!
In Japan, many people have meals or go on dates with their loved ones or friends on Christmas. There are more people out on Christmas Eve than on Christmas Day.
Foods often include roast chicken, fried chicken, and pizza. I think this is probably modeled on American customs, but I think that the reason why chicken is eaten in Japan is because there are no turkeys (and they are not sold) in Japan.
At Christmas, we also eat cake. The cake shops in town are very busy on that day.

@@Japanese_homecooking_sho Actually, in a documentary I once saw that KFC is very famous in Japan at Christmas. So, now I know why 🙂.

I dont know where you are. I am in Switzerland, and I cannot get the same clams, but I can get Vongole clams, and spaghetti with them, garlic, parsley and a bit of butter and white wine is absolutely delicious.
