Deepwoken took inspiration for the idea of oaths in deepwoken from Stormlight archives. One such oath is Vision shaper as in Storm light a character can also distort reality and change what other people may see her name is shallan and her oath is called Light weaver. The Divine great sword and Shard bow are a reference to the book Series called Stormlight Archives. In the Story ancient Swords called shardblades can be summoned by a user and in the series characters also use shardbows to Strike their foes. Also if you don’t believe me then look at the names and you can find the two names Adolin and Kaladin, two of the Main Characters . Another reference can be found in the depths with one of the voices when you escape the depths his Name is Odium and another villain in stormlight is a bring known as Odium. One other reference is the guy who uncaps your agility he is a wind runner and he is a reference to a character named Szeth in Stormlight. His Name Windrunner is also a node to one of the many oaths in the story. Another reference is wisp as in the Stormlight archives 2 character have wisp.
The Knives of Eylis seems to take inspiration from Dishonored, where a group of supernatural assassins are featured as an enemy type and are called Whalers. Even the armor of the Knives of Eylis, Whaler Initiate, makes it obvious. The teleport to your target also might be a reference to Blink, an ability that allows you to travel across space in Dishonored, but I might be wrong.
The races, Ganymede and vesperian are also references to hollow knight. The choices for gender neutral names: Antar, Cinnabar, Phos. Are references to the anime Land of the lustrous Antar is the nickname for Antarcticite and Phos is a nickname for the main character Phosphophyllite.
Another thing I noticed they referenced or copied somewhat from hollow knight was the design choices from most of the GUI in game, like the trained stuff has special decor that is very similar to hollow knight IMO tho.
I didn't even look ath the gender neutral names but when I saw the references my jaw just dropped. Finally that anime is getting some more recognition that it deserves.
Warden's blades is a reference to Vergil's mirage blades move, I forgot which one but it's the one where you hold square (on a PS controller) and then it forms blades around you. If you hold square again, it will make them stop spinning and fire them out.
The orbs that instantly kill you at the end of floor 2 are also a reference to risk of rain 2s void reavers that also appear when you beat the final boss. They have a very similar sound effect. Some of the shrines like the shrine of order is also a reference to the game but I have no idea why they didn’t put it in Mini seeing as how you can only find the shrine of order on the snow stage in risk of rain 2.
Another reference: The weapon “Iron Birch” is a reference to Destiny 1’s Iron lords weapon “Iron battle axe”. As a D2 fan when i saw the weapon it was really cool.

Im surprised probably nobody mentionned this But the Deep Shrine, Shrine of Order along with the Layer 2 destabilization are Risk of Rain 2 references. Shrine of order in ROR2 balances all items you have and stacks them all in one item depending on the tier. Layer 2 destabilization is similar to how Void Reavers invade the moon as it is detonating once defeating Mithrix.

One thing I want to point out is that the combat in deepwoken seemed almost identical to sekiro in a lot of aspects. This kind of goes overlooked, but please check it out. I really do think deepwoken took a ton of inspiration from sekiro with the way they did things. One example you can easily see is ice eruption having a sekiro perilous attack symbol above your head, and making the noise too. edit: I also found that masters flourish has the same animation as whirlwind slash from sekiro, and this one may not be related but fire palm has a similar animation to flame vent. Also the shattered katana has a very similar model to genichiro's mortal blade, which is pretty interesting

One thing I want to point out is that the combat in deepwoken seemed almost identical to sekiro in a lot of aspects. This kind of goes overlooked, but please check it out. I really do think deepwoken took a ton of inspiration from sekiro with the way they did things. One example you can easily see is ice eruption having a sekiro perilous attack symbol above your head, and making the noise too.
edit: I also found that masters flourish has the same animation as whirlwind slash from sekiro, and this one may not be related but fire palm has a similar animation to flame vent. Also the shattered katana has a very similar model to genichiro's mortal blade, which is pretty interesting
