I gave Fort Kochi tour in (broken) Hindi - my north Indian in-laws visit Kerala

- During our stay in Kochi, I wanted to take my North Indian in-laws to see the old architectural heritage of Fort Kochi. The earlier day we couldn't complete a tour of the whole place and could visit only Mattancherry and Jew Town. So the next day I took them again to Fort Kochi to show them the famous Chinese fishing nets and other sights. They were very happy with the tour I gave them, even though it was in my broken Hindi. And little Annika, as always ended up being the star of the show :)

Oh wow wow wow have an AMAZING time 😀❤️ I lived in Kerala for 18 months doing solo travel vlogging. It is LUSH green and ever so beautiful. My favourite place was Papanasam which is located at Holy Beach in Varkala. I loved the temples and the beaches amongst the palm trees ❤️

So much of innocence in Annika. She trying to feed the pigeons with hands full of grains waiting for the pigeons to take it from her hand was innocense personified. Also trying to have a peekaboo at the cats face was another highlight not to mention her trying to groove to the music at the hotel not to mention mother in law's dance. Feel that world will be a better place with this generation growing up. Feel good vlog.
Preetha it really was a lovely family day vlog wasn't it. Bless lil Annika. I LOVE this family. When my parents were growing up inter racial marriages were not acceptable. In all honestly I feel that is very narrow minded. I really love inter cultural marriages as we see how Amazing The kids are with all their languages and expose to different cultures. They are very lucky kids due to such exposures. My nephews are of mixed race so similar to Annika they experience the best of two worlds. ❤️

Kudos to Johanna. I think Vinod took the best decision of taking her as his partner. She is a good mother, daughter- in- law, sister, the way she takes everyone in the family together.
Annika just loves all living things and is especially obsessed with birds! Always readily sharing her food and feeding others be it birds, bunnies, even mama and papa :) It is indeed too bad that we humans usually forget such innocence and love especially when expressed so publicly. No child is thinking about how they look or what will people say. It's so precious :)

Elizabeth I really enjoyed Johannas Kochi tour too ❤️ I lived in Kerala for 18 months but I never saw Kochi. I was mainly in Trivandrum and Varkala. From then on I crossed state to Kanyakumari and then crossed state again into Karnatica and then Goa before heading to the north. It was part of my 3 year stint in India as a solo traveller. Iv only been back in my home country (England) for a couple of months!!! ❤️
I loved taking especially Mummy around all the places there, because she's never before had a proper visit to the city :) For Daddy it was a very nostalgic trip as he had visited some time in the 80s or 90s :)

Yes, here in South India it's very difficult for me to learn or even maintain my Hindi skills without my in-laws since I don't have time to take classes. I always get so much better at speaking the language when they visit :)

The Fort Kochi area definitely has that kind of very welcoming vibe to it! Maybe because in the course of its history so many different kinds of people from all over the world have travelled and been welcomed there :)

When I was In the North I needed to speak alot of Hindi and it was difficult for me. But at the same time i felt that I am in North India and Hindi is the spoken language so I have to just get on with it. It was hard given that i found the culture and the chaos so difficult to process so the added language was REALLY hard. But hey I got through it. ❤️
Annika Is AMAZING isn't She ❤️ She speaks alot of different languages and easily adapts to the chaos in India bless her. You really are ever so brave Johanna to be living in India and raising your child there. I would certainly find that hard as a foreign woman in India. ❤️
I still find the chaos overwhelming too, but the language (even with my very limited skills) is easy compared to that :'D Most Hindi speakers speak more a mix of Hindi and English, so that helps a lot in making myself understood. And even trying to speak Hindi always is highly appreciated so that's nice and motivating :)

He todella ja muu lähipiiri arvostaa kovasti, samalla lailla kuin tiedän että me Suomessa arvostetaan koska tiedetään suomen olevan vaikea kieli oppia. Intiassa ei kuitenkaan moni tunnu sitä käsittävän, että myös hindi voi olla eurooppalaisena vaikea kieli oppia ja korjaavat usein, mikä saa mut ainakin tosi itsetietoiseksi omista kielivirheistä :)
@@JohannaNorth Even for South Indians, Hindi is not that easy especially the grammar part. So you having broken Hindi is completely fine. I am sure your in laws appreciate that you are trying to learn. In India, now a days, English is well understood by most people. So English is good connection language.
Yeah, broken Hindi no problem on that you would master it in near future as it's not hard to learn either way. Just need to develop your fundamental basic syntax of Hindi and rest would be easy for you in advance level. But, Finnish language is really hard to learn as it is 5th most toughest language to master and learn. But Hindi is not tough, Hindi is the 3rd largest spoken language in the world in January 2023 with over 600+ millions speaker all over the world. Behind 2nd position chinese (Mandarin) speaker with over 1.1 billions & 1st position English language speaker with over 1.4 billions speaker.

Mattanchery is the town's name. There is a Jewish part where Indian Jews used to stay. They left for Israel after formation of Israel. There is still a Synagogue in there.

I know out of all the cultures the Indian culture is in my opinion the most respectful to all so I don’t think it’s meant to offend anyone but I was surprised they got away with using the term Jew instead of the proper term Jewish or Jewish People.
