The only issue with these locally owned Indian/Bengali restaurants and clothing stores is that they don't charge tax when you pay cash. But they will charge so much tax for using a credit card. One time I paid with credit card and they forgot to tax me. That was the moment I started to suspect the credit card tax thing is their way of pocketing extra cash.
It really is interesting how much us NYorkers have to budget but I WILL have my own apartment and live the life I deserve. Just have to be smart like how you are.
Great video! Thanks for including your monthly expenses (rent, bills, loan repayments, etc) along with your personal expenses (I’ve seen a lot of other videos and those are never included!)
Girl I pay the same living in Chicago - things are so expensive! But it will help push me to be more strategic and negotiate salaries better in the future
Hi, my name is Jennefer and I searched up on youtube advice on moving out at 23 (which I currently am) and your video popped up. Unfortunately, the reason why I want to move out is because I have a lot of issues with my parents I feel like they still see me as a 12 year old and don't realize im a grown adult capable of making my own decisions. I have a job at a pharmacy and I get paid the minimum wage but I'm still very scared to move out. I tried to look for places but the rents are crazy HIGH! I'm still looking for places but its very hard because I want to be in a friendly environment. I am all alone in this so it makes me scared to look for places or go on tours because it would be real. I just love to see your videos because it Is definitely giving me tips on what to do and not to do. If there is any tips that you can give me it would really mean a lot to me. THANK YOU ❤
Love your videos and content ideas! It was great running into you in Central Florida the other week. Wishing you so much success as a content creator! 💖
You moved out from your parent house for "mental health." I caught that subtext being of the same hue as you.. :) First time here. Nice work! (and I subscribed)
You are spending much more than $2,794.72 per month. In your previous segment, you said you were spending $1,239.74 per week (including rent), times four is $4,958.96. I live in Staten Island NY right now. I need to move and am having a hard time finding a place I can afford (say $1650 per month) that will accept me and my three cats. Suggest you record every transaction for a month, or better three, then calculate your average costs per month. Remember to include costs of visiting family and going out with froends. You don't want to live at home, like a monk, all the time!
I think it was good that you mentioned the student loan payments were not included. But really it should be because it's still a monthly expense. But I understand that you wanted to first show what you spend to live in NYC. Nevertheless, $4,000 per month in total expenses is a lot for a single person trying to live in NYC. Basically it costs you $48,000 net income based on the caption you added on the last part of this video. It's obvious that eating out will "EAT a lot" of your money!
I wouldn’t consider my business expenses as apart of personal expenses, if u don’t count the amount u spent on your business spending like $300 is good to me lol
Living in nyc is expensive but it’s doable with budgeting, and a supportive system. Keep doing it!!!
Love the transparency! The economy is going crazy but I do think videos like these can inspire people to make better financial decisions.
it's so important to show the realness in a social media phase where everything is filtered. it's like i'm talking to my besties 🫶🏽
LOVE the transparency! It is something that is so important, and not talked about. Thank you.

Chipotle is still $12. I get a burrito bowl veggie, free guac with a drink and it amounts to $12. Cut out the meat and the guac, they charge extra
Very frugal if you ask me. 👍🏾

Can I ask, why are you wearing a mask? They do absolutely nothing except damage to the wearer.
I'm wearing a mask because it protects me from COVID-19!
