One supremely annoying thing about F3 was that in the original game, the only options were to either sacrifice yourself, or have Sarah do it, and die in the process. Made even more annoying by the fact that you could have radiation resistant companions like Fawkes (a super mutant), or a Mr Gutsy robot, who flat-out refused the smart option of achieving it without casualties, because Bethesda only planned for 2 endings - one in which you sacrifice yourself, and one in which you refuse, and Sentinel Lyons needs to do it for you. It wasn't until you got the expansion, that you could actually use the option to send in a rad-immune companion, or just do it yourself, and survive anyway.
Actually you can sacrifice Fawkes or the Mr Gutsy now. Might have been a bug back then, which was fixed. Oxhorn the TH-camr showed those endings as well using Fawks or the Mr Gutsy.

treat it like a nokia phone. it wont break unless its destroyed, it will stay functional so long as it has batteries but compared to a pip boy its probably nuke powered so no need to charge it.

FALLOUT NO1 was one of the best games i've ever played for years to come. Fallou 4 was so nostalgic to me that i managed to finish all endings in order to take the platinum trophy. Good job mate!!! and of course i am the proud owner of a pip boy!!!!

@@KillbotSw4 for sure. the replay value is crazy and there sso many cheats and hacks you can use in your play through making it so much more fun. people create the cheat menus and it’s okay to mod your game it’s a feature

1:33 also there was moment in fallout 4 or fallout 3 where you could see that this nuclear attack was a mistake. Machine that was supposed to tell if there was a nuke coming had some problems in the past so it could be a thing that america fired first.

The show knocked it out of the park for me personally! The cast’s portrayals of their respective characters, the references and nods to the series, and the overall mentality and mindset to the world at large.
The ghoul: jaded.
Lucy: naively optimistic
Maximus: nervous and uncertain.
The show was a 9 out of 10 for me, because they portrayed the NCR to be a shell of its former self, when in reality, on the West Coast, the brotherhood of steel was damn near decimated by the NCR because of the battle of Helios One. in New Vegas, the NCR was the prominent power. And Todd tried to retcon that. This goes to show how petty Howard is when it comes to Obsidian’s Legacy: Fallout: New Vegas, being much more popular than any of the Bethesda iterations. Because it was on Vegas, and Howard is just riding the coattails of Obsidian. 😅

It was always hinted that they'd have the incentive to, but given the "early warning system" (seems like a front for their actual plan at this point) *didn't* go off and many vaults didn't get all the people they planned ... it seems not likely. Also, Robert House clearly has intimate knowledge of VT's plan, and he was caught with his pants down, too. Either something went awry with their plan or it kicked off without their intervention, though they obvs had the intent to somehow start the exchange. To me, it makes the most sense that Vault Tec planned direct atomic attacks rather than using influence, but didn't end up using them: a certain someone had access to such a weapon in the show well after 2077 (albeit not fully explained, yet).

Fallout changed when Bethesda 'took over' completely - not unlike Star Wars and Disney. The main difference was the times as we weren't in this current cultural insanity but regardless, Bethesda isn't Interplay. I had Wasteland before as well.

Interesting that, when naming the stars of the TV show, you outright skipped over Aaron Clifton Moten (Maximus) who is legit the third leg of the show's trinity, and instead threw in the names of two other characters who, while (semi)important to the narrative, but who were glorified side characters at best. It genuinely feels like an intentional slight. Especially since all of the characters you mentioned...are one thing and the ACTUAL third co-star of the show is another...
I could be wrong, but as a Black sci-fi/fantasy lover who lives in a world where we're constantly getting the short end of the stick in this genre, that's the way I felt about that easily avoidable exclusion.
I just knew I could not be the only person who thought that was seemingly an intentional oversight.
I do agree with you that he obviously should've been included as he is one of the main characters. The reason for not mentioning is due to fame or other reasons, not the color of their skin. This was an awesome deep dive into the history of Fallout games. My first Fallout game was New Vegas, then I played 3, and lastly 4. I also love playing Skyrim:TES 5💕🔥😀! Might have to check out the older Fallout games and the TV show too.

As a guy who grew up on Fallout 1 and 2, the game can be very outdated compared to the ones you played, so just be mentally prepared lol.
Also in F2 you can get the endgame armor and weapons very early in the game, if you're okay with save scumming lol, maybe try that if you wanna run through the game easier and faster.
If you can jive with NV and Fallout 3 and also love Skyrim… have u tried Morrowind / Oblivion (TES 3/4). I’ve never been able to get that into Skyrim and Fallout 4 bc of the chokehold Oblivion and NV had on me haha

I was a pretty big gamer back in the day and never played FallOut. After knowing what’s its all about and how the gameplay is I can now say it definitely is not my kind of game. I was more about Tony Hawk Pro Skater & GranTorismo and MarioWorld & Marion cart before that.
Never played New Vegas and would love a remaster for the next gen consoles since it will be awhile till fallout 6

there's a couple of fallout-esque games that handle Russia (ATOM iirc) and there's another that's similar (encased) but can't recall if that one's in the US or not, those are the closest to early fallout games, that is, turn based strategy and they cover pretty much the same kind of post apocalyptic setting, as for a 1st/3rd person shooter I couldn't tell, but, there's also the Wasteland games, from the OG one to the new ones by inXile which are great

the recent continuations are nowhere near the atmosphere, feeling and game involvement of F2. Moreover, Fallout 2 was pure gaming, while modern adaptations just lead you by hand throughout the gameplay... it sucks
Fallout 3 didn't lead you by hand. If you're a pro & can handle your way to Casey Smith Garage, you can beat the game in under 30 mins. They obviously made it harder over that way but you can sneak around a lot. I wouldn't say Fallout 3 (the best imo) or Fallout NV "lead you by hand" those 2 Fallouts have an amazing story and you don't have a single clue about what's really going on til you start putting the pieces together
@@rajhloc740 I wasn't referring as much to game story as to game mechanics. I agree with you that NV has an amazing story, that's without any doubts. But as I mentioned before, F1 and F2 went just beyond in the sense of game experience, where a lot of stuff was there to be explored only by the player (upgrading motion sensor in Pip Boy, repairing a car, etc.). These game mechanics were really rewarding to the player, however, on the other hand, if one lacks such a sense for gaming and only waits when the game creators will show what to do next, such a player was often punished.

In our timeline, we created microchips and their timeline they did not they still use vacuum tubes. None of you know what that is. You’ll have to look it up, but that is the main difference and why the technology changed and split the way it did.

So Fallout 3, NV and 4 blew my mind, the world just full of adventure
I have an intense hatred of Turn Base Strategy games so i never feel attract toward the OG fallout
Maybe thats the reason why i just enjoy Bethesda's Fallout for what it was and not too picky about the whole RPG stuff
But even then, Fallout 76 suck
It'd be hard, not only if you dislike turn based games, but also the graphics, but there's some guys redoing FO2, so far they don't have that much to show for but they have some good progress and it doesn't seem to be turn based, also, if you can somehow go around and skirt that hatred, try them, they're really good games wit ha ton of content and a much richer base story than bethesda fallouts, but not as much as Obsidian's
