The soul guitar one does work. It extends the distance horizontally, not vertically. You have to hold W, super jump + soul guitar M1 at the same time.

I think the reason why do awakened buddha take damage slowly in lava is because of you see it carefully,you see that while you were in buddha form you are slow and your step will take ages to land on the ground,so everytime your foot touch the lava,you will get damaged
