- We rebuild a hydraulic lift cylinder on the Case 450C bulldozer. This is the first time we have rebuilt one ourselves. This isn't a real complicated job, but it does take some special tools and a little bit of knowledge and a lot of get er done. The total cost of this job was $23.99 for a seal kit from Amazon and about 2 gallons of hydraulic fluid. The feeling of accomplishment and pride of doing it yourself, priceless. Always protect your pistons. Put some cloth and ductape around the surface to preent denting or chipping the chrome.

good video and job the older one are easier to fix than newer one. main thing is to get all the seals back in the right way and to oil the orings and seals before installing i have done a few and put a seal in wrong before. take care, be safe and well.

You could just move your control levers around to release the pressure/vacuum from the cylinder

Do not use that hydraulic fluid in the trans, the tch that is is equivalent to the superceded fluid for case hytrans farm fluid. Case construction tch is different! The construction tch from a construction dealer is very expensive but it is the old school fluid and protects the organic clutches on these old machines. The farm dealer will tell you it mo longer exists but it does only thru case construction dealer and on the internet. The fluid is red like transmission fluid. I wouldnt bother spending the money to run it in the hydraulics but i would 100% run the right stuff in the transmission
