I have the Arcam SA 10, a Pro-ject E1BT turntable, Kef Q150s, the Onkyo Dxc390 CD changer and A Wiim mini in my study. It's a really nice setup. The Arcam is wonderful at an awesome price at Cruthchfield. Thanks for what you do, Randy. I am a fan.
I have the Arcam SA10 connected via optical digital from my computer motherboard, and hooked up to the Polk XT-20 bookshelf speakers. Excellent and full sound. Randy is a great guy.
Just bought the Dali Oberon 3, awsome speakers. But they seem quite expensive in the US, in Germany you can buy them for less then 500€ (19% tax inclueded).
I ended up getting a crazy deal with Black Friday discounts on top of being open box items. KEF Q350-$370, SVS Soundbase Pro-$420, and I got a RSL 10E-$299. In total just over $1k for an amazing sound system that sounds very close to my old $5k setup
Today I listened to Stereolab's excellent track called 'Space Moth' on my Dali Spektor 2 speakers, and they made me forget about all the other speakers I've ever heard. Even though they cost only around 300 bucks, for me they are the end-game. The wood fiber woofer simply rules...
Without a doubt this is my favorite intro that Randy has. Back in the day with the crazy mask and flamethrower and awards that he placed on top of speakers with a shrug.
Yeah, I had a budget for my home theatre redo of $1500. So, I headed to Amazon, and I got two Klipsch RP-8000F II, a Klipsch RP-450C, a set of Klipsch R-41SA, and a set of Fluance SXBP2WH. And I have enough left over to buy all new cables. Gotta love Black Friday.
Starting to look for a 7.1 receiver. I bought two Klipsch R280F a couple years ago with the center channel. Slowly replacing an old Sony 5.1 piece by piece. Going to use the existing Sony satellites as atmos until I replace them. Just have to find a good atmos able receiver for sub $500.
Could you create a video on receivers you'd recommend? I'm looking to buy one that supports Dolby Atmos for my home theater but also delivers excellent performance for music. What would you suggest as a good option at a budget-friendly price?
What I would personally recommend, what I did, is look at the used market. I found a couple year old Onkyo 5.2 channel receiver for 150 on Ebay. 80 watts at 8 ohms, supports Atmos and DTS:X, also has a direct mode that I use for music.
The Oberon 3's are the cheapest in Dali range to incorporate their unique SMC technology. I'm tempted. The regular discount price for the C316BEE V2 is $399, it's available at $319 (inc shipping) elsewhere.
When I heard you say Wharfedale linton heritage and saw $649, I thought it was the pair. Then you said a piece, and it was less exciting. I still love the look of those and the matching stands.
I have that ARCAM SA10. It has a lovely midrange and the top end sparkles nicely. However, the bass is always throbbing, a bit boomy, and not very tight. However, at the current price it’s worth every penny.
Amazon ran the KEF Q150's for $250 very briefly on November 6th. I was going to wait until Black Friday deals, but grabbed them right away when I saw them that low. These replaced the Neumi BS5's for me. I wanted something a little more lively than the Neumi's, and these haven't disappointed. I will say the sound stage of these don't blow me away when compared to the Neumi's, which is more of a shout out to the Neumi's than it is a knock against the KEF's.
Not sure if anyone else commented this, as I have not read all the comments but the Monoprice Monolith subwoofers are at a crazy low price. The M-10 V2 is $360 (which is $340 off). I thought I got a deal last year when I bought one for $530...
High end products don’t get mentioned on this channel much because the focus is on value. But PS Audio has a small amp called the Sprout 100 that seems pretty cool. At its normal price of 7899 it’s probably not going to get much attention here but at its current sale price of $499, now we might be talking. 100 wats per channel into 4 ohms, phono stage and Bluetooth. Add a WIIM streammer and it could be a giant killer.
Does it really matter if a speaker can have a good + frequency response above what one can hear? Harmonics etc. Just popped into my head now - Perhaps a mention sometime on the bass distortion capabilities of destroying tweeters?
I watch the list of speakers offered in the line up. Why? Because hey, we all like to look and get impressions. I like the thoughts and opinions you put out on these offerings.
Please try a pair of Paradigm (sounds like para-dime) speakers. Generally, you can't go wrong with Paradigm. My speakers on my main system are Paradigm 9se Mk-II floor standing speakers. I think they are a great speaker all around. Detailed without being harsh. Lots of bottom end punch when you want it. I also have a few pairs of Paradigm bookshelf speakers (Mini Mk-III, 3SE, & 5SE) & they are equally impressive. The bookshelf speakers don't pack as big a punch, but they are no slouch.
Get some Paradigm to try for real. For years people have loved the Atom small mini monitors. (I think they made six versions) many of the Paradigm in the mid 3-5k range are MUCH better than they were a decade or two ago, and people loved them back then (I wasn’t one).
I had the Paradigm Minis, their center channel and subwoofer in the 90s. It was the Kenwood THX Dolby ProLogic surround sound receiver and Pioneer Laserdisc. Those were amazing products back in the day together.
I have a pretty powerful portable amp setup that I use indoor and outdoors. I like the JBL control 1s as they can go long periods at 100db ish. I'm looking for something that can play long periods at this dB but with good sound not an PA setup. I can run 180w x2 continuous at 4ohm.
Agreed! I purchased last year as an upgrade over my Emotiva TA-100..A huge upgrade! Paired with JBL HDI 1600..Total bliss! A small 8 inch sub for the lows
Not long ago, I saw excellent reviews on this channel about Cambridge Audio's integrated amplifiers, but also Yamaha's among others, all under 500/550$ dollars. *For the sake of coherence and even credibility, i expected them to be mentioned, but strangely enough, not even a word*... Regarding Klipsch Speakers, especially the famous RM600 II, also positively commented on this channel, but now not even a word, even though they are at an good price.... When I was just looking for guidance and credibility, I find this strange, and I ask: What was good or even very good yesterday is no longer good today? Or does money simply speak louder? 🤔🤔 Thanks.
Just a quick note that Randy did mention Klipsch at 4:39 in this video. Plus, he also talked about them in the previous video in the lower price bracket. He referenced how he prefers the previous models (RP500/600M gen 1) over gen 2. I agree...I own the RP 160M pair, as well as many other RP Gen 1 models. They're all excellent, more balanced, linear sound than the newest version. It has been argued that in some ways, Klipsch took a step backwards w/ the Gen II series. In terms of mid-range, the Gen2 is quite "honky," too forward, as if the microphone suddenly becomes a Megaphone,📣 while bass disappears a bit! I always tone the treble down just a bit on all Klipsch speakers regardless, so it's perfect for me, without the over-emphasized mids of the RP version 2. And I still get all the punch, mids, low end, etc. To each his own...no right or wrong here, all personal preference.

I have the MA silver 100. They are great 👍
Kool👍
If you haven't already, upgrade the biwire (jumper) links. It makes a big difference!
@@lofershags I didn't, but I have ordered they're on the way. Thanks, and I hope my ears will hear the difference 🙏

I do not have any issues with the Arcam SA10.
Please don't buy speakers just because they are on sale. You will never regret spending money on a speakers you love.. not the other way around.
Agreed. I am in no rush, but I've narrowed it down to getting Mo-Fi's 888.
Agree, the ideal scenario is to buy your favorite speakers when they are on sale!
20 years later my Triangle Celius are still undefeated.

I have just compared KEF Q150 vs Monitor Audio Bronze 100 side by side. The latter is for sure better than the former in every aspect.
Great vid! Sadly no Q Acoustics 3030i mentioned, those are a steal for a buck
Those are incredible speakers.
I bought the 3050's last winter at $400/pair (now out of stock) now that's a great speaker!
Those Paradigm speakers are 399 EACH. Out of this price category.
With super hot tweeter. Paradigm are not the brand they were twenty years ago.

The kef 150 OG version are amazing even with vintage amps!
Paradigm is pronounced Para'dime'. Enjoyed your video.
That Dali Oberon is legit worth twice the price.
For some reason, your Crutchfield link has not worked on any of of the videos I have watched of yours.

. "It has HDMI".... Great that WiiM streams video👍
"It has Full Size USB"... So much better than 1/6th size USB👍

I scored a 10a 48v power supply for the Aiema for $55. Score!!!😊😊😊😊
NAD C316BEE is a great amp.
Polk R200s sound great with wiim ultra and fosi v3 monos.
The P.S. audio Sprout 100 is on sale at $499, wbich is $300 off. I have not heard but it has been well reviewed in several places.
The Q150 sounds much better than the Q350. The grilles not shipping with the speaker is annoying.

Why it loaded in a different language. Weird had to reload.
Yes five hour monster video. 🤪
Try to review the Dali oberon 9. That would be awesome some they are on sale now!
I have the Arcam SA20 with JBL HDI-1600 and an Emotiva SE8 sub...
End Game for me. Maybe a sub upgrade later..but otherwise totally happy!
Kicking myself for not getting the RP600M II for $299 a couple of weekends ago, a weekend sale ! SIGH...
It is not Black Friday yet
I expect you will get another crack at them
How about a video for outdoor?
Arcam is launching a new series, so they are likely blowing them out.
The issue that I have with Emotiva is Everytime I want to try a pair of their speakers on their sales. They are OUT OF STOCK!
Arcam SA10 if a fantastic amp!
Agreed! I purchased last year as an upgrade over my Emotiva TA-100..A huge upgrade!
Paired with JBL HDI 1600..Total bliss!
A small 8 inch sub for the lows
The paradigm was priced each, not by the pair
Kef 150 is in black friday for the last 5 years!!!
It’s pronounced “Para-dime”. Canadian made, I’m on my 3rd set, love them.
lol. I know. I like saying para dig em
