Gotta love Eric Glesser's enthusiasm! Spyderco always brings new steels out in different models. Their prices are not over the top either. Why they are and will continue to be my favorite knives!
I love watching Eric talk knives. He's got such a passion for the craft. And you just have to know Spyderco is stuffed with knife nerds. The company couldn't be that consistent without being full of talented folk. Shout out to all y'all we don't get to see - your care is very much appreciated.
There are people who make knives and there are Knifemakers. Mr. Glesser is a knifemaker. He knows his steels and shares the process and concept. This is why I will always support Spyderco.
Now this is an actual knife company that knows the speed of innovation without any gimmicks. And the heat treats are always amazing. Great work Spyderco!
Eric is awesome. He was literally born in spyderco. They talk about his pack and play was in the office. Sal and Eric have consistently made the greatest knife company. Spyderco has been my favorite since my first real knife a dragonfly when they first was released in the early 90s.
Got to talk with Sal for a long time on Friday. He was so full of knowledge an very nice. He geeked out on the spy27. I took home a military 2 in spy27. Had a great time at blade this year!
I love Spyderco and the Glessers. I'm lucky enough to live near the Golden Factory and have been in multiple times. I can't even begin to tell you how nice everyone is and how willing they are to help you find a great knife. There's a reason I've got 35 Spydercos. No company is using so many steels across their lineup and doing them well. Truly a great brand.
After years of collecting, Spyderco is still my favorite production company. They have the best heat treat, they are constantly improving their quality, they have the most options for knife steels, and you can tell just how much care and excitement there is in Erics voice, when he talks about their knives. Could listen to this all day.
I love Spyderco knives, however something interesting about where I live (Canada) is that spyderco knives themselves aren’t illegal, but the spidey flick is. So not many places sell Spyderco to Canada, not even Spyderco sells Spyderco to Canada. In my life I’ve only ever seen one Spyderco in Canada and it was a light blue FRN Delica in some dude’s back pocket
The Techno 3 is like a Voxnes-F5.5, with a Paysan Handle mixed with a Slysz blade profile then last but not least, a PM-2 blade finish. None of that is a bad thing. I Love everything about my Techno 2, my F5.5, and my Paras. I can’t wait for the T3 to drop. I would have been totally satisfied with a techno 3 with the exact design as the 2 but a bit bigger…I’ve been secretly wishing for that for a long time. This, however, I’m so stoked about this pushing of the envelope past my expectations. Thanks Eric and thanks to Marcine too.
Still hope to see PM3 with Magnacut. Not the thin version without the scales. Would love to take a Magnacut PM3 and put some beautiful titanium scales on. Would be my perfect knife
Look at Spyderco listening to the people! The community has been clamouring for more Sage 5’s for years! The fact that they did a G10 and a Lightweight for both the Rex 121 and the Spy27 is above and beyond and very appreciated. Is there a yellow G10 version of the Magnacut Sage 5? Looking forward to the Rex 121 in G10.
@Sunstepa not a problem with diamond or cbn stones. If you can sharpen one steel you can sharpen them all. A course diamond stone will raise a burr on anything fairly quickly
The sage series is supposed to be about locks. I think the lightweight handles and bushing system you could say the lock is different. Why 3 Sages in different steals I dunno it’s Spyderco they do what they think people will like, unlike 🤔 ummm…benchmade. Yes the ball bearing lock in a sage would be sic it literally hits the lock perfectly in your hand. I would like to see a Demko shark lock in a sage or a collab with Demko.
In case Eric checks the comments, you're bringing us incredible products, but what I really want is a K-Carta Manix with blue Micarta scales and K390. Please Eric!
1:38 exactly. Which is why Spyderco is the only on brand that deserves a pass when it comes to their prices. They actually spend so much time perfecting the knife that you know you're grabbing quality. Spydercos R&D is insane. I mean Benchmades new water series rusts for f**** sake!! Smh.
It's already $127 with the titanium scales and Reeve lock. I'm glad they're trying to keep it somewhat affordable as it is in their budget line after all. Plenty of $200+ knives out there for those who want them.
Spiderco claims it's at least 62HRC in some forum posts, but some people have been claiming it could be closer to 64. No definitive answer so far but it's harder than Benchmade's heat treat.
I have 3 serrated salts in H1 and they still fly through everything . I cut a kiddie pool into pieces the other day with an older pacific salt . Destroyed it .
I'm a massive Spyderco fan but the Techno 3 is a big "miss". No ability to Spydieflick and (I hate to say) Spyderco's flipping action has always been mediocre at best. I've tried numerous different flippers from them and they always have suboptimal action. The recent Spymyto is a prime example. Great design but the detent is just too weak and the washers were already deformed/dented from the factory. My advice to Spyderco... stick to washers/bushings and stop trying to make flippers!
Was thinking the same thing. George manages to fail it on the first flip, then has to put his wrist into to get it to fly open. Any knife where you have to use your wrist has a problem.
Gotta love Eric Glesser's enthusiasm! Spyderco always brings new steels out in different models. Their prices are not over the top either. Why they are and will continue to be my favorite knives!

Eric's slowly becoming the wizard we all want to be buying our +5 daggers from!
When will he come out with the Spyderco Vorpal sword 😂
@@andyhayward1261♥
Hell yes. The steel Godking.
i never thought I would own a Spyderco knife. Then I bought one. Then another one... I now own three. Love them all!!!
How many are you at now? The love for Spyderco is so real lol
@@therealone8725 Just 3... for now...but if a Sage 5 in Rex 121 shows up on the secondary market for a good price... well... ya know...
@ oh yeah, trying to get my hands on one as well lol. Good luck with your search and happy spyderco hunting 😅🙏
Seeing Eric be so enthusiastic about Spyderco is super awesome

That magnacut sage 5 is EXACTLY what I've been hoping for.
I'm sad because I bought the S30 version last year. now I want this :(
Got to talk with Sal for a long time on Friday. He was so full of knowledge an very nice. He geeked out on the spy27. I took home a military 2 in spy27. Had a great time at blade this year!
Eric is such a nice, humble guy.
awesome visit

I like how excited and involved Eric is.
Great guy, very knowledgeable. Such a passion for knives !!
I would love to see more G-10 Magnacut models. Plain black scales would be fine.
And satin blades. Patiently waiting for the PM2 Salt with the black scales and satin blade
I love the love that the Sage 5 is getting this year.
Damn~~~~ I want that Sage rex121!
So stoked to see the Sage 5 getting more love!
Exciting lineup this year as always🙂
Manix 2 xl in s30v was my first cpm knife back in the day, you're giving me nostalgia!
What a guy! Thank you Spyderco!
Thank you for designing the manix 2. It’s my favorite edc knife.
I love Spyderco knives❤
Thanks for sharing
Awesome Video!
I love that Techno 3. Beautiful knife.
spyderco is the only company
that makes you want to buy every knife on the table 🤣💪
Hey it's the Arlo Guthrie of knives! Love ya Eric!
Awsome job by the Glesser family🤩💪🙏 Love Spyderco!!
Would love to see the para 3 get the blacked out G10 salt treatment!
I Used to detest Spyderco solely for the way they look, and they have grown on me.. They are EXCELLENT knives, Reasonably priced and of great quality
WAWAWEEE that techno looks awesome ! I hope it gets a strong detent :)

K390 is my favorite steel. It needs to be maintenanced, but its well worth it
Daaaang Eric's hair is bananas! Rock on man
King of design retention.
Stretch or Stretch XL in Magnacut, pretty please! (Or start putting the forward choil on the Endura and make THAT in Magnacut!)

BTW, Eric is looking more and more like Zeb Bowles every day. I wonder if he plays fiddle too.
Awesome videos, awesome spyderco ‘s
Man I would love that purple/black color combo on the Delica but wish there was a sprint run for a G10 version like the St. Nick's
Wish we could have found out when the yellow and black pm2 magnacut was gonna come out…. Been waiting and waiting
Spyderco fanboy here. Manix would be perfect with contoured scales
Love my spy 27 LW para 3... but with some AWT scales and a lynch clip... its money and my edc always.
pls spyderco for the love of god, make a chapparal lw in magnacut
Wow, that is one nice throwback with temperance
Love my spy27 para 3. Throw awt skinny cobalt blue scales with a lynch clip and your in perfect EDC territory.
Still hope to see PM3 with Magnacut. Not the thin version without the scales. Would love to take a Magnacut PM3 and put some beautiful titanium scales on. Would be my perfect knife
I've already placed my preorder for a rex121 sage 5 and it looks like I'm gunna be snagging a pd1 Dragonfly 2 as well when they drop
Gimme that 121!!
Can We Get a Military in Rex 121 & Magnacut

I look forward to how you sharpen 121. 🤪
@Sunstepa not a problem with diamond or cbn stones. If you can sharpen one steel you can sharpen them all. A course diamond stone will raise a burr on anything fairly quickly
Well they don’t listen to all the people screaming for more ball bearing lock knives… instead they make 100 versions of the same old knives 🙄
The sage series is supposed to be about locks. I think the lightweight handles and bushing system you could say the lock is different. Why 3 Sages in different steals I dunno it’s Spyderco they do what they think people will like, unlike 🤔 ummm…benchmade. I would like to know what Sir Eric uses for his edc? Impressive gentlemen!!
There was a video a little while back and he had a pm2 crucarta on him that looked pretty beat up. So I know he carried that for a while.
The manix 2 is the first knife i go for.
Damn, that Techno 3 looks fantastic.
The Temperance fixed blade is 🔥🔥🔥
We REALLY need a tenacious in a finer steel....
Such a cool knife!
Love spy 27!
Id like to see the chaparral w a compression lock and magnacut ou k390.
When does the paramilitary 2 salt in satin blade yellow and black g10 come out? I want to buy one so bad.
Smh.
When are we going to get a compression lock Native 5? PLZ!!
I just ordered a serrated H2 Dragonfly because of Eric. We'll see.
Eric is the Willy Wonka of knives😂
I need that temperance gah damn!
What knife was on the far left that was never talked about or touched?? Was that a Magnacut Pacific Salt!!? 😢
I always thought that if you heated up previously hardened steel (martensite) and left it to cool slowly, it should lose its hardness
I love my manix 2 in magnacut
Love spyderco! WHERE IS THE SATIN SALT PM2?!
Whic is better blade CPM S30V or CPM S45VN ?
Sage 5 in magna-cut, they are rolling it out to Taiwan. Hopefully we can get a spyderchef in the future.
Interesting: "Our best edge retention of anything we've ever tested (this is above Rex 121) is our serrated H2." 11:00 .
I really hope we see exclusive framelock tennies!!!
That Tenacious is cool but I really wish they would have used S35VN or something
It's already $127 with the titanium scales and Reeve lock. I'm glad they're trying to keep it somewhat affordable as it is in their budget line after all. Plenty of $200+ knives out there for those who want them.
Stretch 2 XL fully serrated in K390 😮
When!!!!!!!
i wonder if the PAra3LW will have PB washers on both sides
I trust spyderco to treat magnacut properly. Not sure who else I can say that about
Can we get a remake on the Spyderco Q-Ball please 😊
We ever gonna get the Bowie PM2 they showed 2 years ago? Asking for a friend.
What is the HRC on the magnacut??? You say it’s done right but what is it lol
Spiderco claims it's at least 62HRC in some forum posts, but some people have been claiming it could be closer to 64. No definitive answer so far but it's harder than Benchmade's heat treat.
is the hole just aesthetic on the techno 3? looks like it...
Full production Rex 121 🤤🤤🤤
Wheres the PM2 bowie that was promised for Christmas time 2023?
Techno 3! Me want!!!!
Techno 3 looks 🔥
It’s crazy they use K390 on their “cheap” knives and haven’t put it on the compression lock knives or the manix yet.
Make more knives with the ball lock please!
The newest locks from Spyderco are Eric's hair.
When is the techno 3 gonna be available?
Can we get some rex121 in a non compression lock please? A regular military would be ideal.
I have 3 serrated salts in H1 and they still fly through everything . I cut a kiddie pool into pieces the other day with an older pacific salt . Destroyed it .
“If you look bang for your buck the Tenacious is hard to beat” What!??? 😂

@@oliverwoehrmann5992who made up that rule? Some people prefer stiffer action..
Yes FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO FLIPPERS
Salt series Sage 5! I’m glad I didn’t get a para 3
Techno 3 looks very similar to an ozark trail folder.
Man, that Techno 3 is sexy looking!
You know I like a lot of blades. Have a lot of blades, but spyderco pm2/3 are the best knives on the planet.
Spy 27 gets no love. It's amazing.
