Herschel Walker USFL Highlights

  • A nearly complete highlight video of Herschel Walker's legendary 1985 season for the New Jersey Generals. The star attraction of Donald Trump's circus, Walker started the season slowly but started to hit his strite at about the midpoint of the season. By season's end, Walker was flashing all of the skills that had made him the best runningback in SEC history at Georgia.
All of the games that I took clips from can be found on the following channel. USFL forever is the best place to look if you're curious about the United States Football League: www.youtube.co...

Back then the "No Fun League" NFL didn't allow underclassmen to enter the draft. So the timing was perfect for Herschel to leave Georgia early. It was a great time back then until the future "Insurrectionist-in-chief" Donald Trump talked the other owners into challenging the NFL in a antitrust lawsuit which literally killed the league! 😡🤬😡 It would probably still be in existence if the other owners stuck by the original format of a spring league! Ijs! 😒🏈💯👌

The CFL and the USFL also took Doug Flutie, Herschel's USFL QB, his best years too. Flutie was a GDMF Beast! In Canada, he is called the GOAT of Canadian Football. He was named the CFL's "Most outstanding player" 6 times, and won multiple grey cups.
Doug also was responsible for a 10+ game turn around of the Toronto Aurgonauts. He too Toronto from a 4-14 team one season, to a 15-3 team the next season, and a Grey Cup Championship appearance. And he was the only major Roster addition to the team.
NFL gave him a shot in the late 90's, and he made the Pro-Bowl his first couple of seasons, and took Buffalo to the Playoffs.

Here's something a little different from the normal. Some old-school USFL action was a nice change of pace from the usual college football and NBA. Herschel Walker was just as good as everyone thought he would be when he got to the pros, even if he would've been even better if he had better agility. Anyways, I guess that USFL players are now on the board when it comes to making videos. Anyone have any suggestions on who should get a video next?

Exactly ppl don’t know this man ran a 10.1-10.2 100m and raced against olympians lol Bo wouldn’t stand a chance after the 40 meters

    • @biggalaxy9102
      @biggalaxy9102 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Here are the facts & no more speculations. Herschel Walker 10.23 is very fast for a 230 lbs man but he wasn't the fastest RB in NFL history. That title goes to Jeff Demps 10.01 (who's also the 3rd fastest man in NFL history behind Trendon Holliday 10.00 twice & Jim Hines 9.95 being the fastest).
Some more facts, Bo wasn't that fast as he & so many keep claiming. He only ran a 10.44 & his 40 yard time was hand timed & not electronic timed as Bo keeps lying about & I have no clue why no one calls him out on it‽
More facts, the NFL didn't start electronic timing until 1999. And that is still inaccurate bc it's hand start with a lazer finish. Bo ran his 40 in 1985. And Bo was absolutely NOT faster than Herschel in the 40.
To give you a more honest perspective on this matter of Bo claiming & lying about his 4.13 electric 40 time, the only people that legitimately ran close to that 4.13 is Christian Coleman who ran a 4.12 & it's on TH-cam to see if for yourself, who is in fact the 60 meter indoor record holder of 6.34 & is the 6th fastest man in human history with his 9.76. Again Bo ran a 10.44 which is about a 20 meter blow out by Christian. I'm not even exaggerating.
There is no way that Bo can run stride for stride in the first 10 yards, let alone 40 yards with Christian Coleman. Impossible! The only other two men that were estimated to run a 4.1 something or less is Usain Bolt when he ran his world record time of 9.58 100m which he's estimated to run his 60 meters at 6.31 & his 40 yard dash at 4.18. Bo absolutely ain't keeping up with Usain. And yes Usain has one of the fastest starts in track history contrary to the popular belief that he started slow. Usain's start is the 3rd fastest in history & the absolute fastest start is Su Bingtian of China who ran the fastest 60 meters outdoors with a 6.29 when he ran in the Olympics & ran a 9.83. Su ran an estimated time of 4.07 in his 40 yards. Bo never ever in his life ran that fast.
Bo Jackson my childhood hero has disappointed me as I've grown, matured & played college football & ran track & learned that Bo "knows embellishing & lying!" Sad but true.

54 rushing touchdowns for Walker....Tebow had 57 rushing touchdowns and 88 passing...its more like just imagine Tebow starting all four years instead of just three...if only herchel Walker could have passed for 70 or 80 touchdowns..that would have been something...his only championship in the sugar bowl herchel Walker looked good but his quarterback only completed 1 pass in the entire game..probably had 20 incompletions...Walker should have played quarterback in that game. If he could have just thrown 70 or 80 touch downs he could've been another tebow

It's because he spent 3 years in the USFL, and the NFL tries to pretend like that league never existed. Even if he averaged only 1500 yards in his first three seasons, and then you kept the rest of his numbers the same, you'd get 12,725 yards and probably around 100 touchdowns. And then once he got to the NFL, he had to split time with Tony Dorsett (which isn't the most damning thing tbh). Talent-wise, he was just as good as any of the other great HBs. His straightline speed was otherworldly.

I agree with you that the USFL did not help Herschel but the numbers he put up in the NFL are not trash and the thing that is the most under appreciated about him is how well he could catch deep passes. I have changed my view on Herschel as a Pro. He should remembered as an all time great and I sometimes think that trade from Dallas kinda hurt the memories that we have of him....

@@xrt89fly While your point about Reggie White is true, White also had an insane, HoF-worthy career just based on his NFL stats. And DE is a position where a player can be elite into his 30s. Whereas at tailback, those first few years of a player's career can be absolutely crucial.
And yeah, his trade to Dallas has defined his career. Trust me, as a Vikings fan, the first time I heard about Herschel was when an older fan told me about how terrible that trade was for the team.

@@PockyCandy Herschel Walker has at least 3-4 80-90yd touchdowns in the NFL alone. People act like he didn't perform in the NFL. He was a factor at every stop.

One thing that becomes apparent about the USFL is--the unis were dreadful or plain looking! It was not a pro-look. You have got to get some designers that could create some sweet logos and fresh designs. Part of the appeal is in the look. That's why the Broncos changed their look completely in 97. The fans and players get hyped over the unis!

Broncos made their uniforms worse in '97. Only upgrade was the logo. Darker colors are boring and overdone. AFL was known as a league of bright vibrant colors and people liked that.

@@osaji922 The 97 Broncos unis were way better than the classic ones! They were one of the laughing stocks of the league as far as uniform design! Now, laughing stock no more! The old Denver fans didn't want to change them, because they worshipped their team! And, bright or average toned colors do not nearly always make a great uniform; it still needs proper design. Why did Tampa Bay change theirs then?! Also, dark colors can make a great uni, too, because design and matching colors are the 2 most important things for a decent team uniform!

Donald trump owned the New Jersey Generals. Probably another reason Herschel and trump are such good friends. Truly one of the nicest people alive too.
