@@2MinuteTennis It definitely helped improve my serve. I realize now I was "knocking the birthday hat off" with stiff movements like a clockwork soldier and concentrating on the loose wrist made the entire serve process more fluid and natural. Can't thank you enough for all your advice.
@@tensaijuusan4653 wow so happy to hear it helped. Yes, loose helps the whole motion including the bday hat part. Thanks for coming back and letting me know!
I do this on my serve too! Amazingly, many pros are not doing it (Krajicek, Ivanisevic). I wonder why they don't, as I find it to be a very effective technique. Anyway, Karlovic and Raonic do it, so we're in good company!
I've been doing this all along and try as I might I couldn't get the thing level as you did in prior clips, so i just thought, oh, hell, everything else is okay so no worries. Now I'm worried that your spies have caught me in the act! 😅 I still can't hit the back fence after the first bounce, but baby steps! Baby steps!
Ryan, the problem with this bent wrist idea is that for most amateurs, this really hurts your drop. I have commented before about this and you can see if you slow down the video at time 2:16, your forearm never gets to horizontal or parallel with the ground. There's about a 30 degree angle there and therefore you are not getting a deep drop. Most pros get at least parallel and some, like Roddick, actually go below parallel. This affects how deep of a drop you get and how large of a swing path you make. I've tried your method before and I just could not get a consistent deep drop. I switched to a standard trophy position with racket up and elbow at 90 degrees and that made everything work. And I would recommend that you try the standard trophy to improve your drop.
Ryan, what did happen with the pink t-shirt lady at the background? Should I trust she is doing well? Her drastic disappearance is haunting me...🙆🏿♂️🤣
I will continue to make the videos the way I have Been. I’m busting my ass making videos for people around the world. Nobody, and I mean nobody, comes even close to making the amount of content I do on a weekly basis. I never miss a day. Never. There are plenty of other channels on YT to watch…probably some who talk a lot less than I do. I’ll continue to “talk” during my videos. It’s my personality. And nobody is forcing anyone to watch my videos. Thanks! ✅🎾😊👍
@@2MinuteTennis yes, good and generous videos overall, unfortunately with distractions caused by your Habits/not personality. you can choose to change, improve your default habits of showing too much of what Not to do and telling us every thought in your head. "It's my personality" is a cop-out.
Ryan! Thank you so much for the subtle reminders across the board!
This is gold!!! Thanks coach 🙏
Ryan, you are awesome. I add these tips in with what I learn during my lessons. I will try this one this week.
You are really the best. Thanks very much.
That's a great tip, never heard it before. Your last serve looked great- warming up helps : ) Early ones had rushed/low tosses.
Beautifully explained. Aids in the on the edge motion too during n after the racket drop 👍 🌟🎾
Love your tennis tips - and as it's not raining I am heading out to try the loose wrist technique right now.
Awesome!! Keep me posted!!

Great vid. Can you do a vid on doubles formations ?
Love the added magic trick--the disappearing woman... (2:25)
Loose wrist. Got it, thank you!

Thanks so much Wally!!
Ryan, where can I send you video of my serve? I think it needs fixing little
Send it to ryan@2minutetennis.net. You can also go to my website 2MinuteTennis.net and book a Zoom stroke analysis lesson with me. Thanks!!
Could the same thing be said on a forehand and stiffness/tightness? What about using a Tiafoe style backswing to promote relaxation?
I wouldn’t suggest such an extreme looseness but staying “looser” than normal can def be a good thing on the forehand
Wow! I can do the same...hit the net 😁😁😁
🤣🤣 same here
Now hit the net with more speed and depth.
Woow

Haha watch me teleport to behind the baseline. It’s edited bc I had to get more balls.
Yes, enough Talk!!! Good tip in the center of lots of unnecessary talk
