Not that I am an expert now (by any stretch of my imagination), but I passed from knowing less than nothing to having a basic knowledge just by practicing all the things explained here. Thanks a lot for this easy-to-follow video. Just at my right level. Thanks for not speaking too fast.

What a great beginner lesson. Your pace and tone are excellent because they are easy to listen to and to follow. I’m pretty computer literate but never worked on videos really. I have posted a couple long ago on TH-cam to share my knowledge of my hobby (sewing and serging and how machines work). I want to post better quality videos, with better editing, so they improve the viewer experience . Thanks!
I am making the big switch from the PC to the Apple ecosystem and find iMovie to be less than intuitive. This clear and concise video is spectacular. I am able to do what I need to do without beating my head on a wall! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I have tried several times to use iMovie and failed every time. After watching this tutorial today I feel more confident and learned a lot. I make yoga video, exercise videos, and videos for social media, this tutorial is exactly what I needed to learn the entire program.
Mannnnnnn you are the BEST!!!! I will be coming back to this a few times bro.... You broke it down so simple. I don't care HOW old this is..... From Your Boy Poorhouzzzzzzzzz SALUTE Teacher's Tech...Peaceeeeeee
As a returnee to iMovie after a few years from the Mac OS8 version this was a really useful tutorial to establish what's the same and what's different. Turns out to be a very familiar place and I can dive in with confidence. Thanks.
Hi Teacher's Tech! Thank you! I would like to synchronize two different cameras while filming a guitar piece, and switch back and forth while keeping the one audio track running. Important that the fingers are doing at all times what is coming out the audio! Thanks again!
Hi there, thanks for this great tutorial. I'm stuck on one issue that isn't covered here but you mention at 22:27 - After adjusting some color and saturation, how do I set it so the adjustment stays in the clip? I don't see an Apply button here, only Reset. I have applied an adjustment to each of my (30+ clips) and cannot save or close the project now. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm an art teacher...my students and I thank you for helping me edit my video so that they don't have to watch a video demo for the whole class period and they actually get to make art! Extremely well done, succinct - much appreciated, thank you again!
Hey Teachers Tech... This is a fantastic iMovie tutorial packed into (32m:18s.) It's really helped me a lot and I'm off on my way with my laptop & iMovie editor. Keep on making these tutorials, There great!
Can you only use footage that you recorded yourself when using iMovie or can I use clips from movies and stuff when making my own trailer, because by teacher wants us to make a movie trailer about the Romeo and Juliet play and use clips from the play but I don’t know how to use clips from the internet into iMovie
I absoluteoy love your style of teaching thank you. I have seen others which I thought were great until I found you...you are the best. Thank you for your generous information.
Hi, Thanks for the great tutorial! I couldn’t quite see if we’re able to go into the audio, cut out and reinsert repaired audio sections. In other words, if there’s a sentence that I misspoke and want to fix it, can I do that? Thanks! Harold
thank you for your videos. they are well explained and concise. i'm trying to figure out how to get an image of a false savior and turn him into a statue like idol that then crumbles and cracks, but i can't figure out how to do that on imovie are there special effects in imovie that i can use or in final cut pro?
Love this video! Easy to follow! I can't find my music, though....all I can see under Audio is Podcasts (ha!). I can see audio in iMovie on my iPad but not on my Mac. Frustrating! Thanks for this great vid, though!!
Thanks for the good video! (I do wish the transcription didn't run right over the part of the screen where you're trying to show us what you're telling us.)
Thank you SO SO much for this tutorial! Brilliant for beginners like me - you really conveyed all that information well! I can't wait to edit my first IMovie next week :-)
Thank you very much, this is the kind of video I was looking for and its perfect way to learn iMovie. Great way of teaching and perfect pace to learn. Thanks once again
Very helpful video and clearly communicated. If I have a video with several different subjects, what is the best way to separate the subjects into different videos?
thank you but the most important always seems to be missing. how do you import your footage from the camera? can you stream it in like you used to with firewire? what kind of import ports does it have? also, how can i import music. all my music is on cd`s. does the computer have a cd player/ import option?
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I am creating an animation on iMovie, and this has really helped me with adding special effects and achieving what I had in mind.
This helps so much. I followed every step and created a video, the only issue I have is that when I play the finished video it doesn't play smoothly. It runs slightly erratic, a little jumpy. My computer is only 6 months old and has lots of free space on it. The camera is a panasonic video camera shot in 1080
Thank you for this! Could you please explain where the video and audio clips originate from? Are they recorded somewhere on the Mac and ported into iMovie? Are they recorded directly within iMovie? Thank you.
Is there a way to maintain the order of images when putting them into iMovie. Even if my images are organized when I import them, they end up in random order after they are imported. Mary Lou
Love your videos. Just discovered it. Out of curiosity, what editor do you use to overlay yourself in your videos? Keep up the excellent work. Looking forward to additional videos.
Thanks. My 10 year old daughter wants to gamecast Roblox game and I was going through the various tutorials and found yours very informative and easy to understand.
Jamie, I love your videos. You do an incredible job breaking down the software and making it approachable. I know you use Camtasia but could you do videos like this one in iMovie? Meaning, I am doing a lecture or walking someone through something and have that on screen and then my head cut out? Also, would love to know what you would recommend for small area where person is speaking but inside of keynote slides. The goal is to be able to upload to TH-cam and also link the lectures for my students. Thank you 🙏 again for all of your work and sharing it with us. As an instructor I don’t have a lot of spare time to test different software so you are a God send.
I love this video! Thank you for making it. I am curious, what platform did you use to make the movie? I love how you are in the corner and the screen is front and center. I hope it is an easy to use and learn platform as technology can be challenging for me :(
Not that I am an expert now (by any stretch of my imagination), but I passed from knowing less than nothing to having a basic knowledge just by practicing all the things explained here. Thanks a lot for this easy-to-follow video. Just at my right level. Thanks for not speaking too fast.

I've been wanting to learn to use imovie for a long time, and I've watched a few videos, but yours is by far the best. Thanks.
I am making the big switch from the PC to the Apple ecosystem and find iMovie to be less than intuitive. This clear and concise video is spectacular. I am able to do what I need to do without beating my head on a wall! Thank you!

I cannot thank you enough for this, Jamie. I come back to it again and again. Excellently clear. You are a fabulous teacher.
