This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China. In the original version, the lyrics are more intimate, sentimental and more recognized worldwide. It means: "Please don't go!". This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. Gorgeous. You literally can feel his pain😪. His first song in Japanese. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from the studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers. I’m not sure but I think it was his studio in China. But I do know he got a studio as a gift for his birthday. If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅. He sang the same song but with different lyrics on the competition show "The Singer" in China in 2017 titled "Autumn Strong". And this song has a sad backstory. This was his first song in Mandarin. He was so young there. But I like Ikanaide more than Autumn Strong. The song you have in mind with the half mask was Phantom Of The Opera. He sings a duet with Huang Yiaoyun a Chinese singer. Thank you for your beautiful reaction to Dimash. This son is one of my favorites. That cocoon you talked about, I also feel it. Other times it’s like a roller coaster. Listening to him is a different experience.
👉 Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021(in his studio). Because of the “pandemic”, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live. In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - th-cam.com/video/WdKYDoqKLP8/w-d-xo.html * Samaltau - th-cam.com/video/cEyLyKW-gWY/w-d-xo.html The original song Ikanaide was composed in 1989 by Koji Tamaki (*1958) singer and songwriter, the lyrics come from one of his lyricists Goro Matsui. In the same year, the song was used as the theme song for a Chinese-Japanese television series Farewell, Lixianglan, about the Japanese woman Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920 - † 2014) a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to Koji Tamaki. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out: Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - th-cam.com/video/OpgnM2MccCQ/w-d-xo.html Dimash's Japan Fan Club asked the famous Japanese author of lyrics of 'Ikanaide' Goro Matsui about his emotions at Dimash performance. It's one of his favorite songs: "… I heard Dimash singing "Ikanaide" by accident. The first thing that impressed me was his crystal clear tone and expressive voice. I heard other Asian artists perform the song many times, but despite their magnificent vocal skills, none seemed to capture the true meaning of the original lyrics. In the chorus of the song, the line "Ah, Ikanaide" is repeated several times. And although these are the same words, each line has a different meaning. And it seems to me that Dimash felt it. " In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: th-cam.com/video/dtM2EsgHD3M/w-d-xo.html The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently: - The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for the passage of time, a farewell and change...sad but inevitable and irrevocable - The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss of a loved one, is full of pain, begs, suffers... heartbreaking. I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum. I've never heard anything like that from other singers in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery. * The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong - th-cam.com/video/Kmi2cVijdMo/w-d-xo.html This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong. * Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong - th-cam.com/video/437IEsDIZfE/w-d-xo.html * Other version by Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong - th-cam.com/video/-ewR8Boc21I/w-d-xo.html (Thanks to all Dears who helped to complete the information)
I couldn't agree more with your description of both Lara and Dimash's voices as enveloping one in their voices. They are remarkable. Thanks for the great reaction!! ❤
Music is universal, has no boundries. That's what Dimash had said. His angelic and emotional voice reaches into your heart and soul and lift your spirit and take you somewhere. His voice comforts you and you FEEL the emotion of the song. Musical theater? You mean Phantom of the Opera. He did a duet recently in China with a female Chinese singer Ms Hwang singing a song call Red Moon Rule. Check it out, and it will definately give you Phantom of the Opera vibe. Enjoy. Loved your sincere reaction, with tears and all. Just subscribed. 🥰
Yes he is perfect for musical theatre, SOS is from a French Canadian rock opera called Starmania. Also Stranger is pure music theatre, as is When I've Got You MV. Thanks for great reaction. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa
Hello from Kazakhstan! 👋🇰🇿 Аlexxa, thank you for your reaction to Dimash! Please listen to his songs "Unforgettably day at the CAKKU 2017 consert", "Know" vocalise, Ave Maria.
Yes. He reaches across boundaries. Especially spiritual. It doesn’t matter what religion we may have been raised in, Dimash is a gift from our creator. And the fact that he is always thanking our creator for his journey should be a wake up call and true testament to true faith in a higher power. 💙💙💙💙🌸
Dimash performed this in a separate studio for the Tokyo Jazz festival during the covid scare. Ikanaide was written by Koji Tamaki in japanese. Later it was translated into chinese and named Autumn Strong. Dimash learned and sang this version first. Later he learned the original version, and this is the result.😊
I don’t know if other listeners have mentioned, but he received his Bachelor’s Degree in classical, opera and composition (probably others also). Not to mention he also received his Master’s and is finishing/finished his Ph.D., all in music.
Hi, Alexxa. You're beautiful. Thank you for reacting to Dimash. I have a Dimash Dear for some time now, listening to so many reactors along the way. It is especially your commentary that draws me. You have touch on a number of important things around Dimash. In particular, you mentioning Lara Fabian. She's been the key influence on both how to approach (vocally) and interpret songs, as well as causing that emotional effect in his audiences. In the same breath I need to say that when and while they perform, they seem to really lose the audience in the way they get drawn into the story of the song they are singing. Anyway, blessings upon you for doing this reaction. May your channel grow in leaps and bounds.❤
Dimash is a gift from universe. Dimash is sooooo good!! I have to see him live!! For the lucky ones who will be able to attend the next 2024 concerts: November 22, Prague, Czech Republic. November 24, Düsseldorf, Germany.
Dimash sang the Chinese version of this song when he competed on the Chinese show, "Singer 2017", four years earlier. There were people in the audience in tears. When I first heard him sing this song, I had to remember to breathe. Then when I did, he did that humming at the end. Be still my heart.
La otra es Love is like a dream y por supuesto su obra maestra The Story of one sky
LYRICS IN BOTH SONGS 🎶 ARE EVERYTHING🎶 Autumn Strong 🇨🇳 & lkanaide 🇯🇵 There’s a historic backstory 🥺China WWII Japan😢💙 The “Autumn Strong” performance of Dimash in China’s “I’m a singer” competition. He learned Chinese in a week 🇨🇳 Now he’s learned Japanese & sings the original version for Japan 🇯🇵 This ✨LIVE✨ PERFORMANCE Was The Tokyo Jazz Festival Held During The LOCKDOWNS Years 😯 This puts his language count at 13 at the time of this recording 💿 His HONOR is showing again‼️🤗 DIMASH - AUTUMN STRONG “BACKSTORY” 👀 🇨🇳 with subtitles th-cam.com/video/FXQ58U-Eddg/w-d-xo.html DIMASH - IKANAIDE 🇯🇵 with subtitles th-cam.com/video/8mM-bp5PB34/w-d-xo.html KOJI TAMAKI - IKANAIDE ORIGINAL SONG 🇯🇵 with subtitles th-cam.com/video/2j3ab7cu_30/w-d-xo.html I love how he’s blended the 🇯🇵 & 🇨🇳 songs together with the warble in the beginning’s, and the vocalizing “Her” at the ending’s 🥺 The song writer 🎼 praised Dimash on his getting the “Ah’s” 🎶 so perfectly to what he intended they should convey in each phase👌🎤 Well It Is Dimash‼️🤣😂💦 I also watched a Japanese reactor comment that the 🇯🇵 language is usually pronounced wrong with a hard consonant sound of most western speakers. He said that it’s different and should be weaker to get it right. He was so impressed with Dimash getting the enunciation correct ❤️🇯🇵 Well It Is Dimash‼️🤣😂💦 ❤️2U&ALLU❤️🦌🦌💫🌎🕊️🇺🇸
As humans we have a connection to our Father in heaven, through the son Jesus. I imagine heaven may sound like this? :) No wonder it moves our spirits.
Amazing as usual. Dimash is the best. I just wish someone would tell him that he should change 'be the only man to say' to ' Be the only ONE to say'. I personally just love his accent, and hope he never loses it.
Dimash performs a song called Autumn Strong which is in mandarin and the same melody as Ikenaide but with slightly different lyrics. Sometimes in concert, he does a mash up of both songs using mandarin and Japanese, which satisfies us all as we each have our favourite.
Oh, I liked your cocoon of sound anology for Dimash. I laughed when you decided in the middle to start again with the subtitles (always a good idea to know what the song is about). After a while, I don't use them, I just like riding along on his voice - whatever the language. A Canadian Dear has subscribed 😁 Thank-you.
Dimash is the only artist who's been able to make me cry without even understanding the lyrics.
Same! Well, he is the only artist who can make me cry, period.
Agree. The only other one who brings me to tears is Hua Chengyu-Child, Fake Monk. But Dimash is my lifetime favorite!
@@EllanaTs there's only been one other song that made me cry and that was Carrie Underwoods Temporary Home.
He‘s not the only one (but one of the few) who can make me cry, but he’s the only one who can make me cry with every song. ❤Independent of the song‘s meaning. Just from hearing the beauty of his voice. 😅
Don’t know Temporary Home. I‘ll give it a listen. 😊
I used to get emotional with Bonnie Raitt‘s I can’t make you love me. But now I got used to it. But Herbert Grönemeyer‘s Der Weg is still annoyingly tear-inducing 😅😂
His wife died a few days after his brother. And he wrote it for her:

Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese.
Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to Koji Tamaki. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out:
Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - th-cam.com/video/OpgnM2MccCQ/w-d-xo.html
Dimash's Japan Fan Club asked the famous Japanese author of lyrics of 'Ikanaide' Goro Matsui about his emotions at Dimash performance. It's one of his favorite songs:
"… I heard Dimash singing "Ikanaide" by accident. "
In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: th-cam.com/video/dtM2EsgHD3M/w-d-xo.html
The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently:
- The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for the passage of time, a farewell and change...sad but inevitable and irrevocable
- The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss of a loved one, is full of pain, begs, suffers... heartbreaking.

Welcome to the wonderous world of Dimash!
Yes he is perfect for musical theatre, SOS is from a French Canadian rock opera called Starmania. Also Stranger is pure music theatre, as is When I've Got You MV. Thanks for great reaction. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa

Google Translate)
Great reaction. Wonderful awesome fantastic.
For the lucky ones who will be able to attend the next 2024 concerts:
November 22, Prague, Czech Republic.
Muchas gracias por mirar y por tus sugerencias. ¡Los agregaré a mi lista! ❤️ (Usando el Traductor de Google)

I love how he’s blended the
🇯🇵 & 🇨🇳 songs together
with the warble in the beginning’s, and the vocalizing “Her” at the ending’s 🥺
The song writer 🎼 praised Dimash on his getting the “Ah’s” 🎶 so perfectly to what he intended they should convey in each phase👌🎤
Well It Is Dimash‼️🤣😂💦
I also watched a Japanese reactor comment that the 🇯🇵 language is usually pronounced wrong with a hard consonant sound of most western speakers. He said that it’s different and should be weaker to get it right. He was so impressed with Dimash getting the enunciation correct ❤️🇯🇵
Well It Is Dimash‼️🤣😂💦

As humans we have a connection to our Father in heaven, through the son Jesus. I imagine heaven may sound like this? :) No wonder it moves our spirits.
Amazing as usual. Dimash is the best. I just wish someone would tell him that he should change 'be the only man to say' to ' Be the only ONE to say'. I personally just love his accent, and hope he never loses it.
This comment was referring to Adagio, the song switched while I was typing. 😅
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please do react to Dimash's "Daybreak." I recommend watching Daybreak's true story before watching the music video. Love your video. Subscribed.
Thank you for subscribing! I've added Daybreak and the story behind the song to my Dimash list! ❤️
Dimash performs a song called Autumn Strong which is in mandarin and the same melody as Ikenaide but with slightly different lyrics. Sometimes in concert, he does a mash up of both songs using mandarin and Japanese, which satisfies us all as we each have our favourite.
I will add it to my list!
amazing

Oh, I liked your cocoon of sound anology for Dimash. I laughed when you decided in the middle to start again with the subtitles (always a good idea to know what the song is about). After a while, I don't use them, I just like riding along on his voice - whatever the language. A Canadian Dear has subscribed 😁 Thank-you.
I consider myself a tough man, but I still crumble...
Please react to Dimash singing duets with other artists. He plays very well with others.
👋🇱🇻❤️🙏🙏🙏💔💔🙏🙏🙏🇰🇿
.......so, are you in love with Dimash, yet??❤
