To explain who is Kal'tsit- She wasn't actually the Leader of Rhodes Island, although she is one of the higher-ups like the Doctor and Amiya who is considered thier Leader. You can say that she is the head of the Medical Department or something like that while also serving as Amiya's Guardian or mentor. Also a bit of Spoilers, Kal'tsit is also one of the few surviving members of an Organization that was the Predecessor of Rhodes Island Pharmaceutical Company. She was a good friend of the founder of that Organization who is also important to the lore as well. Hope we can see that person in later seasons or an O.V.A.

A little background knowledge time~ 1. Kal'tsit, the founder of Rhodes Island today in many aspects, the top of medic department that developed the prototype medicine we used on infected, and the mentor of Amiya. 2. Lyudmila, the assassin team commander of Reunion, trained by a "wolf" and is able to create smoke screen with her infected organs, attacked R.I. team in season 1 and is leading an attack on Lungmen now. 3. Mon3tr, the mysterious creature that always side with Kal'tsit, seems to have quite some intelligence and emotion and love to "play" with its prey, also has a mini crystal form. 4. The incident Kal'tsit and Lyudmila talking about is the "Sarcophagus Incident." This has quite some history, so in short: Sarcophagus is the same machine Doctor awakened from in season 1, it was found by Ursus government many years ago and a team of scientists were sent to analyze it. Kal'tsit was recognized as the leader of this research team and Ilia is one of the scientists there. However, as their research fruited, they became aware that the technology and energy contained in the Sarcophagus will only stimulate Ursus's desire of war and cause tragedies in the near future. So they decided to seal the entire device and run from their homeland. However, another scientist in the team, Sergei was threatened by Ursus with his children, and he made the wrong choice by leaking this message to wrong people. A strike team entered the lab before the scientists could evacuate and killed most of them, including Ilia, Lyudmila's father. Kal'tsit survived the attack but failed to save any of her students, and ironically, Lyudmila, knowing so little of the truth, decided to hunt every last one of those survivors as traitors down, including Kal'tsit, the very one who secretly helped her after the massacre.
Due to the visual novel way the narrative used in the actual game, Monst3r and other prominant power houses in the story often rely on other people describing what is happening, with Monst3r being the worse offender of literally only growling or hissing. We knew Monst3r was powerful, but never how powerful it is or the full gauge of it. This episode changes the perspective of future chapters or story arcs with the audience finally realizing 'if this is the power of Monst3r, how strong is X?" I really hope they make an OVA featuring the side stories of the game.
LOL that scene with Kalt'sit was a bit rough without knowing who they were. You got there eventually. But honestly ive been waiting for that scene since the anime was first announced. Ill throw my summary into the mix. Kalt'sit is the one of the 4 top brass at Rhodes Island( Her, Amiya, Doctor and someone we havent met named Closure) and head of the medical department. We saw her in season 1 negotiating with Chief Wei alongside Doctor and Amiya. She was also earlier in this season, telling Doctor to watch Amiya's rings. Red was new this scene, and is part of a special group in RI that takes direct orders from Kal. Extremely terrifying assassin literally raised by wolves. Lyudmila was last seen in season 1. Her call sign is Crownslayer, and is one of the Reunion commanders. She attacked the Doctor early in the season and was shown a few other times. Apparently she is hunting the people associated with her fathers death, which included Misha's father as well as Kalt'sit. And Kal was basically like "how about you don't. Stop serving reunion you are being used". Last note is they mentioned the sarcophagus. We new Misha's father was a scientist. Now we know what he was working on. It was also mentioned very early on in season 1 as the device the doctor was sleeping in. I think Mephisto mentioned it?

Kaltsit, and some of the names she mentioned, Illia (Crownslayer's father), and Sergei (Alex and Misha's Dad), were on the same team researching Sarchopagus (the one where Doctor woke up from in chapter 1). Basically someone in the team was forced to give info about the research and that led to some of the researchers getting killed by Ursus, including Crownslayer's. And now she wants revenge, already killed Sergei and wanted to kill Kaltsit now.
10:27 the little cat girl here is Rosmontis. Rosmontis is one of the Rhodes Island's Elite Operators, along with Ace, Scout, Blaze and some others. Her tablet is VERY important to her. She has memory problems (wont talk more about this, tho it'll be mentioned in next season probably), she forgets stuff all the time, which is what her tablet for. To write her daily stuff so she can read them again when she forgot.
Not that you'd necessarily have time to do so, but perhaps rewatching Season 1 will help refresh your memory of Kal'tsit and Crownslayer (AKA Lyudmila). Also, something Crownslayer says in S1 will make a bit more sense now that you've seen this episode. Also, ProjektRed is a wolf, not a dog. Based very loosely on Red Riding Hood.
