Thanks for this. Just bought a caravan did all the necessary’s brand new bottle checked all valves were open but nothing. Will replace the regulator today. Wish me luck 😊

      Good luck
Heat the rubber hose end by dipping it in a mug of warm water to make it a bit easier flexible to refit in this cold weather (shake any water out before refitting obviously😉)

Truma recommend fitting an inline filter between bottle and regulator. Just had a new regulator fitted after a leak detected so might look at a filter to protect investment. Truma website states warranty on regulator invalidated if failure due to oil contamination.

      Interesting

I had a dual changeover valve fail a couple of years ago, just out of warranty. Didn’t realise that oil contamination from degrading hoses was an issue until a random TH-cam video about it, then went searching and found yours. The talk is all about raising the regulator and having the high pressure hose drain into the bottle, does that not mean that many of calor bottles are contaminated by those folk that don’t change their hoses leading to a substantial amount in some bottles? Maybe an inline filter is worth it?

Some people say fitting the valve higher, stops any oil contamination in value
But it’s not always possible with a motorhome/caravan setup

Calor lite bottles not available now in the uk, didn't pass the UK crash tests

Interesting I’ve always used them to save weight
Not bought gas for about a year so I might be in for a shock when I try to refill them 🙈
Are they only for caravan use or not available full stop in the UK

As far as I’m aware they aren’t available on the UK market anymore for any use. I tried to swap mine about a month ago and everywhere I rang said the same thing .

Very good analysis. If I were to want a similar type problem investigated (with a regulator) who would the expert be who would be able to see and diagnose the problem beyond any reasonable doubt?

Any caravan motorhome qualified gas engineer could easily do that

    It put into thegas

Yes it’s a chemical in the gas that clogs up the valve

Gas flowing stopped completly, take that secumotion out, mine was clean and dry. Take those two yellow caps out of spring side and sprayed WD40 both sides. Same to both in and out holes of gas side. Leave to dry out all flowing oil most of and put back and it started to work just fine. Time will tell if it was a short living fix or longer but have to have fridge/freezer to work and I am a long way from home!

Thank you for that idea, perfect for getting things working if no replacements to hand locally
