    Hi Dean, i’m wondering how you managed to have LED headlights/ fog lights in you JL? I just purchased a 2022 Rubicon and it came with halogen. Do you have any ideas as to where I might find LED’s for mine. Your instructional videos are super easy to follow. Keep up the good work. Dave

      Hey Dave,
      Thank you for the feedback on the videos, it is much appreciated. When I purchased my 2018 Sahara JL, I ordered the LED package, which came with LED head lights, fog lights, marker lights and interior lights. So given that, I haven't been looking at what is available in the after market in that regard. Sorry.

    Thanks for this great vid. Helpful to have this during my install. FYI, I talked to Rugged Ridge, and the reinforcement tie-ins that you "forgot" to originally re-install, are supposed to be removed and not reused. I called them because when you install both the overrider bracket and the reinforcement bracket, there are not enough threads left on the bolt for safety. I want to have at least 3-4 threads sticking out the back of the nut for safety. They said that previous years (before 2018 JL) did not have these reinforcement brackets and so they need to be removed from the 2018-2021 JLs. Also, they said the inside brackets should be removed as well when installing the winch plate brackets.

    I'm in the middle of installing one of these bumpers now. How did you get the mounting bolts through the four holes on the Jeep so perfectly? If I barely bump mine they push back into the bumper and I can't get them through the holes far enough to get a nut on them. This has to be the dumbest mounting design I've ever seen in my life!

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Let’s Make,
      Are you using the flat clear plastic pieces to hold them in place?

    • @letsmake8166
      @letsmake8166 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CheaperJeeperTV I am but they still seem to push back into the bumper if I just barely tap them on the way in. I got one side started pretty good but the other side is being a pain. I think I'm going to take it off tomorrow and hold the bolts in place with some hot glue or something so they'll stay in place long enough to get them through the hole and the nuts started.

      Hey Jeff, Thanks for the feedback. I plan to keep-up with regular spraying with Krown, and plan to retouch up areas of wiring with dielectric grease, just to keep on top of it.

  • @ourbills9999
    @ourbills9999 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you find the Krown rust proof to last a long time? Obviously it depends on the conditions one drives in, but was curious on how often you reapply the Krown?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it does need to be reapplied every year to maintain the warranty, which is very good. If you off road and go through tins of dirt and mud, it for sure gets wiped away somewhat. I’ve learned that for lesser money, they will give your underside a refresh spraying. So given I am really wanting to keep on top of things, I do get the extra spraying done. I don’t have the facilities to do this as a diy, as I’d likely do it myself to be even more particular.

    Hi Dino! Matt here again. Great video channel! I actually just installed this bumper last Saturday... love it! Something I came across when installing (in the NE of the US) was that after a few years (3 to be exact) it was a bit tough to get those stock bolts off. Your video was extremely helpful... watched it a couple of times and didn’t even look at the instructions. Also, thanks for the tip about dielectric grease! Are you thinking of getting the matching back bumper?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matt, I'm very glad you found the video helpful. I love the bumper also. I'd recommend that you DO spray parts with rustproofing, as I have heard the RR stuff tends to rust easily. I am not thinking about installing the rear bumper, as there are other items I am considering first, as a priority, such as an oil pan skid plate, look for the video...lol, plus some other items. So the rear bumper isn't as much of a priority as the front, as I wanted to mount the winch on the front. Cheers.

      @@CheaperJeeperTV I made sure to spray all the connecting parts with rustproofer (just like you recommended... thanks for all the tips I would’ve completely overlooked) - do you recommend spraying any other areas with that rustproofer? Is it ok to spray the bottom of the jeep with that stuff? Some of the bolts under the jeep where a bit rusty while I was down there... but wasn’t sure how generous I could be with that stuff. I’ve been watching all of your videos... loved the storage/bed unit you built... incredibly creative! And unfortunately... I also suffer from some premature corrosion on the door mounts :(
