I'm just starting on my first 322 resto-mod. I've done eight 318's one 400 and a 420 over the past 20 years so I'm anxious to get into the 322 just to observe the differences and to see what mods i can implement on this one.I do like your use of the tool box in the fender. I think I'm going one step further and adding 425/445 grab handles on the fenders as well and I'll borrow the Kenda Turf tires on the rear as well! I'm not much of a videographer or editor but I may give it a try on my project to share as well. Great job on yours by the way!
Nice looking makeover! This one started out looking like a triplet to the two 3 series tractors that I have. You've given me some goals to shoot for now with the 322 I recently picked up. Love the cup holder and storage additions.
Yes, he did look a bit like Brutus and Bill😂😂. Yeah, I'm interested in your subtle glance at that 322 in your last video. On the tool box and cup holder/storage, that was a last minute upgrade, sponsored by last week's pick-up of a GX345 that maybe could have been resurrected, but I didn't have the time or energy at the moment, so it supplied several other tractors with parts to keep them running or in the case of the 322, a chance for the more modern upgrades. One of my buddies said I ruined it, but another was supportive. To a purist, no doubt a problem, but while I like mine as pretty as possible, I like to work all of them too and I need just as much function as I do form, so..... Thanks for watching Neil. When can we expect your 322 debut?
Thanks, they are both Kendas, which are Tawianese, keeps me from buying from China. The fronts are basically a 425 tire size, 7.5" versus the very ubiquitous 6.5" width tires. After getting the 7.5's the 6.5's just look super small😉.
nice job on this. I did the same on my 322 about 20 years ago but had professional auto body shop paint the tin's which came out looking brand new. I order and used all new stickers, foot pads, etc as well. I had to do a lot of mechanical fixes as well but its all worth it and a labor of love. Just replaced the transistor module and will be replacing the TDM this coming week. I dont think Deere makes as good a tractor now so i keep fixing mine...
Yep, it has been a great tractor, I recently sold that one since I have the another one I picked up last year with fewer hours. I plan to do many of the sme things and go even beyond if I can with a 2 speed tranny, maybe H-3, bigger tire upgrades and more. I have fun doing it and I don't mind adding capability to an already very capable tractor. It is hard to beat these Yanmars, whether gas or diesel, they are great engines. Thanks for watching.
@@FloridaDeere thanks for your reply - yep the Yanmar motors seem to run and last well. I want to add more implements if possible such as the 47" 2 stage snow thrower but they are hard to find and expensive! Cheers - enjoying your channel!
@@kengreenwald229 Thanks Ken, it's always nice to hear that. A snow blower is not something I'll likely ever need😉, even if I get a little further north, like I'm hoping at some point in the medium term future.
@@kengreenwald229 Oddly enough, I don't hardly see any gators and snakes very rarely, it's the heat and humidity and all the new people moving here that think it's a great place to live. So much traffic and so many people. I fancy a slower pace of life.
Thanks man, I have to say Richard my powder coat guy did the beautiful work on this one, I had just updated a few mechanical issues. It's funny, when I switched out the hydro levers, I was so upset initially because the ones I had on there first were so much better looking, but the one was so stiff, it made it not worth it to keep. But before giving up, I tried so hard to PB Blaster it, work it over a bunch, but it didn't work. And then to add insult to injury, the one that was more mechanically sound looked a whole lot rougher. So instead of a quick swap, it was time to sand everything down, prime it, paint it and another several days before it could even be installed. I'm terrible at planning ahead, that's for sure. But it did come out looking good. Those are great tractors for sure. Thanks for the kind words and for watching.
@@4cornerssmallengineandfabr535 Thanks man, I think I may have you fooled, I feel like I'm still doing a lot of learning myself as I make these videos. Thanks for watching.
@@4cornerssmallengineandfabr535 One thing I have stayed away from is learning how to weld. I figured I do lots of others things and I have a fair amount of friends that CAN weld and even some that weld very good. So that's the other reason, that, and I didn't think of it either.
HAHA, right man, it like my Bronco or a Jeep. While Ford, Deere and Jeep did a great job on their products, it doesn't mean they forgot some things🤣. I will do doing a rehab on a 316 which included sand blasting and powder coating the tins and sure enough, it will have two 4X5 series toolboxes in the fenders when I get done. While I consider myself a purist...mostly, I think stock looking mods are an okay way to do upgrades. Thanks for watching.
I've had good luck using Lowe's AG Green, AG Yellow, & Ace Hardware Satin Black rattle can spray paint... Somebody needs to template the 300 Series Sandpaper floorboard "stickies" so we can make them out of diamond plate & JB Weld them to the fenderpan...
Just have that painted fiberglass hood professionally cut, buffed & waxed... Just have the nicer mower deck cleaned, clear coated, waxed, & then buffed...
I have "upgraded" to a 48" replacement deck, I've always heard they are superior to the 46" and 50". So far so good, I need to get it rehabbed at some point. Probably over the winter. Thanks for watching.
No man, I gave them to a family member in another tractor trade of sorts. I keep thinking I want them back, but I don't need them. I did try to sell them before they ended up in that trade, but there were no takers. Thanks for watching.
