My theory is that he thought the driver was staying on the right lane and concentrated on sth else. And since she went immediately to middle and true to go to left...

Yeah that kind of bullying "I'll squeaze them out of the lane" kinda only works if your vehicle is big enough and weighs enough to _NOT_ be tipped over if you collide. Bit of a daft decision by the biker. Better to let them have the space, then overtake later. Can always give the finger to show your displeasure if you must. I hope the insurance company saw this video and refused to pay out for the bike, but I have a feeling the biker wouldn't have handed over the footage because it shows him at fault for the collision.

4:30 Van driver hits motorcycle? Sure the van should have waited, but the biker had ample opportunity to evade, brake, go into the left lane or anything to avoid the accident. He just drove straight into the van. Was he paying attention? If not, its a painful lesson to learn. If he was, I hope he learns not to play ego games again, because on a motorcycle you pay with pain.
Even if you are legally right, it is of no use if you get hurt yourself.

I’d hate to be his insurance company on this one. The biker had all kinds of opportunity to avoid the crash and did nothing. In fact, from this video it would be hard to argue he didn’t purposely hit the van. As much as the van shouldn’t have gone I’d place 50% fault on the biker.
I thought so too at first but the van driver crossed (or tried to) 3 lines in a matter of (milli) seconds
But rider should have let go of gas before that, for sure.

5:40 I get that Proud 2A Biker was being nice letting the pedestrian cross, but you do not stop in the intersection. The correct thing would have been stopping at the other crosswalk and signaling other traffic to stop even though they have no obligation to do so.

I recognize Park Avenue in Montreal, the bike is the driving lane, that's not a turning lane, the car looks clearly in fault, this avenue is notorious for accidents caused by reckless drivers doing this same maneuver
