On Tuesday, 08 August 2023 at 19:00 (SAST), BirdLife South Africa's biweekly webinar series ‘Conservation Conversations with BirdLife South Africa’ hosted Dr Mark Brown, Conservation Director at Discover Eden, who introduced the audience to bird ringing and why it is such an essential tool for understanding bird biology. He explored the various ways birds can be caught, how the rings are applied, and how the birds' welfare is always at the forefront of the ringer's mind. Mark also gave examples of how ornithologists use ringing data to better understand the feathered friends we all love so much.
